Study on Genetic Evaluation using Genomic Information in Animal Breeding - Simulation Study for Estimation of Marker Effects (가축 유전체정보 활용 종축 유전능력 평가 연구 - 표지인자 효과 추정 모의실험)

  • This simulation study was performed to investigate the accuracy of the estimated breeding value by using genomic information (GEBV) by way of Bayesian framework. Genomic information by way of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) from a chromosome with length of 100cM were simulated with different marker distance (0.1cM, 0.5cM), heritabilities (0.1, 0.5) and half sibs families (20 heads, 4 heads). For generating the simulated population in which animals were inferred to genomic polymorphism, we assumed that the number of quantitative trait loci (QTL) were equal with the number of no effect markers. The positions of markers and QTLs were located with even and scatter distances, respectively. The accuracies of estimated breeding values by way of indicating correlations between true and estimated breeding values were compared on several cases of marker distances, heritabilities and family sizes. The accuracies of breeding values on animals only having genomic information were 0.87 and 0.81 in marker distances of 0.1cM and 0.5cM, respectively. These accuracies were shown to be influenced by heritabilities (0.87 at $h^2$ =0.10, 0.94 at $h^2$ =0.50). According to half sibs' family size, these accuracies were 0.87 and 0.84 in family size of 20 and 4, respectively. As half sibs family size is high, accuracy of breeding appeared high. Based on the results of this study it is concluded that the amount of marker information, heritability and family size would influence the accuracy of the estimated breeding values in genomic selection methodology for animal breeding.

Production of Levulinic Acid from Gelidium amansii Using Two Step Acid Hydrolysis (우뭇가사리로부터 레불린산 생산공정을 위한 2단 산 가수분해)

  • The study of bioproduct production from inexpensive biomass such as marine biomass has recently attracted considerable attention. Because, marine biomass which compared to land biomass, it can be grown rapidly and is easily cultivated without the need for expensive equipment. In addition, the carbohydrate contents are similar or higher than land biomass such as woody biomass and can be easily converted to chemicals through proper chemical processes. In the production of various biochemicals from marine biomass, levulinic acid is a highly versatile chemical with numerous industrial uses and has the potential to become a commodity chemical. It can be used as a raw material for resins, plasticizers, textiles, animal feed, coatings and antifreeze. In this study, experiments were carried out to determine the optimum conditions of temperature, acid concentration and reaction time for production of levulinic acid from marine biomass, Gelidium amansii, using two-step treatment. In the first hydrolysis step, solid-state cellulose which was used to produce ethanol by fermentation and liquid-state galactose which used to produce bioproduct such as levulinic aicd were obtained through acid soaking. In the second hydrolysis step, the liquid-state galactose was converted into levulinic acid via a high-temperature reaction in a batch reactor. As a result, the overall production yield of Gelidium amansii to levulinic acid in the two-step acid hydrolysis was approximately 20.6% on the initial biomass basis.

  • We are faced with the age of limitless competition because knowledge and information are the most important to nation's competition and we should struggle to obtain them. Our county made some programmes such as next growth engine and 21c frontier R&D to prepare future. But, the responsible organizations which drive the programmes sponsored by government had a limitation in point of obtaining exact information quickly. So, in this report, we explain the strategy of getting the future leading technology based on internet.

Multistage Parallel Nulling-Partial PIC Receiver for Downlink MIMO MC-CDMA Systems (하향링크 다중 안테나 MC-CDMA 시스템을 위한 다단계 병렬 널링 및 병렬 부분 간섭 제거 수신기 설계)

  • We propose multistage parallel nulling (MPN) partial parallel interference cancellation (PPIC) receiver for downlink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multicarrier (MC)-code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. Though the V-BLAST is a popular MIMO receiver, it shows error floor for multiuser downlink MIMO MC-CDMA systems. The proposed MPN-PPIC receiver does not produce error floor for multiuser case, and achieves substantial performance gains with multistage processing. For single user case, the proposed method also surpasses the V-BLAST receiver with multistage processing for MIMO MC-CDMA systems with chip level interleaving. The system performance of the proposed MPN-PPIC receiver is evaluated through computer simulations.

  • 세계적으로 아날로그 방송에서 디지털 방송으로의 전환이 마무리되고 있는 가운데, 앞으로 다가올 UHDTV 등 실감의 대용량 방송 및 방송 통신 융합 환경에 대비하기 위한 새로운 차기 방송 표준에 관한 연구의 필요성이 날로 높아져 가고 있다. 특히, 저해상도 서비스에 머물러 있던 이동 방송에서는 기존 HD급의 서비스 제공이 가능한 이동 실감방송으로 진화하기 때문에 고정/이동 방송 서비스가 동시에 가능한 고효율 전송 원천 기술 개발이 이루어질 필요가 있다. 이에 최근 지상파 단일 채널을 통해 4K & HD 방송 서비스를 동시에 제공하는 융합방송 시스템 개발에 대해서 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 지상파 단일 채널을 통해 4K & HD 융합방송 서비스를 제공하기 위해 필요한 전송 요구 사항들에 대해서 분석하고, 효율적인 데이터 전송을 위해 필요한 전송 시스템 및 다중화 기술에 관해서 알아보았다. 또한 분석한 데이터 전송률을 달성하기 위한 최적의 시스템 파라메터를 도출하고 분석하였다.

  • 생체정보를 이용한 사용자 인증은 차세대 인증 방법으로서 기존의 인증 시스템에서 급진적으로 사용되고 있는 인증 방법이다. 현재 대부분의 생체인증 시스템은 단일 생체정보를 이용하고 있는데, 단일 생체인증 시스템은 노이즈로 인한 문제, 데이터의 질에 대한 문제, 인식률의 한계 등 많은 문제점들을 가지고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 다중 생체정보를 이용하는 사용자 인증 방법이 있다. 다중 생체인증 시스템은 각각의 정보에 대한 information fusion을 적용하여 새로운 정보를 생성한 뒤, 그 정보를 기반으로 사용자를 인증한다. information fusion 방법들 중에서도 Rank-level fusion 방법은 표준화 작업이 필요하고 높은 계산 복잡도를 갖는 Score-level fusion방법의 대안으로 선택되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존 방법보다 정확도가 높게 향상된 Rank-level fusion 방법을 제안한다. 또한, 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 낮은 정확도를 갖는 matcher를 사용하더라도 정확도를 향상시킬 수 있음을 실험을 통해 보이고자 한다.

A Stratified Multi-proportions Randomized Response Model (층화 다지 확률화응답모형)

  • We propose a multi-proportions randomized response model by stratified simple random sampling for surveys of sensitive issues of a polychotomous population composed of several stratum. We also systemize a theoretical validity to apply multi-proportions randomized response model (Abul-Ela et al.' model, Eriksson's model) to stratified simple random sampling and derive the estimate and its dispersion matrix of the proportion of sensitive characteristic of population using the suggested model. Two types of sample allocations (proportional allocation and optimum allocation) are considered under the fixed cost. In efficiency, the Eriksson's model by stratified sampling are compared to the Abul-Ela et al.' model.

  • In this paper, we studied on the optimization of the output power of Mobile WiMAX (IEEE 802.16) base station considering the technical condition of base station and wireless channel condition. The optimum power of base station can be estimated based on the link budget calculation of downlink and uplink in the Mobile WiMAX communication system. We investigated the optimum output power of base station in the case of 2Tx-2Rx base station with $2{\times}2$ MIMO(multiple input multiple output) technology, 2Tx-4Rx base station with improved receiver sensitivity, and 4Tx-4Rx base station with beamforming technology.

  • A bandpass sampling technique, which is a method directly downconverting a bandpass signal to a baseband or a low IF signal without analog mixers, can be an alterative choice for the SDR system to minimize the RF front-end. In this paper, a complex bandpass sampling technique for two bandpass-filtered signals is proposed. We derived generalized formulae for the available sampling range, the signal's IF and the minimum sampling frequency taking into consideration the guard-bands for the multiple RE signals. Thru the simulation experiments, the advantages of the . complex bandpass sampling over the pre-reported real bandpass sampling are investigated for applications in the SDR design.

  • 복잡한 기상조건 하에서 강우의 예측은 수문 기상 분야에서 필수적인 과정이라 할 수 있다. 특히 월 단위의 강우 예측은 장기적인 수자원 관리 및 계획 수립 시 매우 중요한 기준이 되기 때문에 보다 정확하고 신뢰도 있는 예측을 필요로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 전 지구적 기후 변동의 양상을 수치화 하여 나타낼 수 있는 기상인자의 활용이 활발해지고 있으며 다양한 모형을 기반으로 한 강우 예측이 수행되고 있다. 최근에는 인공지능 기법을 활용한 인공신경망 모형의 적용이 활발해짐에 따라 높은 예측력을 바탕으로 강우 예측에 대한 연구가 이루어지고 있지만 초기 가중치의 무작위성 또는 과적합으로 인한 문제도 함께 나타나고 있다. 본 연구에서는 인공신경망 모형의 활용성을 높이고 신뢰성을 확보하기 위한 강우 예측을 수행하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 다양한 기상인자를 활용하여 인공신경망 모형을 위한 정보를 구축하고 인공신경망 모형을 통해 생성되는 결과로부터 단일 예측이 아닌 앙상블 예측을 활용함으로써 강우 앙상블을 생성하고 조합하였다. 그 결과 인공신경망 모형을 통한 단일 예측보다 앙상블을 통한 예측으로 안정적이고 정확한 예측 결과를 산정할 수 있었으며 기존에 인공신경망 모형을 통한 예측의 문제점을 보완할 수 있었다.
