대도시의 주거/도로변 지역 및 배경 지역의 대기 중 입자상 다환 방향족 탄화수소의 특성 (Characteristics of Particulate Atmospheric Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons Pollution in Residential/Roadside Areas of Metropolitan Cities and a Background Area)

  • The present study aims to evaluate the characteristics of atmospheric polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) pollution in roadside and residential areas of two Korean metropolitan cities (Seoul and Incheon) and a background area (Seokmolee). This purpose was established by analyzing temporal and spacial concentration distribution of total and 7 individual PAHs, which were extracted from ambient particulate matters, and by utilizing a multivariate statistical method (principal component analysis, PCA) for the qualitative determination of potential PAH sources. Target PAHs included benzo(a)anthracene (BaA), benzo(a)pyrene (BaP), benzo(b)fluoranthene (BbF), benzo(k)fluoranthene (BkF), chrysene (Chr), dibenzo(a,h)anthracene (DahA), and indeno(1,2,3-cd)pyrene (IcdP). For all surveyed sites, the concentrations of total PAHs were higher in winter season than in other seasons. However, the concentrations of individual PAHs varied with surveyed sites. In both residential and roadside sites of Seoul and Incheon, BbF revealed the highest atmospheric levels. For all 7 target PAHs, the ambient concentrations were higher in Seoul and Incheon than in a background area (Seokmolee). In both residential and roadside areas, the concentrations of 4 target PAHs (BaA, BbF, BkF, DahA) were higher in Incheon than in Seoul. However, both the residential and roadside Chr concentrations were comparable in Seoul and Incheon. In addition, the residential IcdP concentrations were higher in Incheon than in Seoul, whereas the roadside concentrations were higher in Seoul. The roadside and residential BaP concentrations exhibited the reverse result to the IcdP concentrations. An PCA analysis suggested that atmospheric PAHs in both residential and roadside areas would be due to combined effects of several potential sources such as gasoline- and diesel-fueled vehicles, coal/oil combustion, and waste incineration.

서울시 지하상가 공기중 다환방향족 탄화수소의 농도조사에 관한 연구 (Measurements of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons(PAHs) Concentration in Air of the Seoul Underground Shopping Stores)

  • A purpose of this study was carried out to investigate the concentrations of four elements of PAHs(Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) in suspended particulate matters of underground shopping stores in Seoul city. The particulate matters were collected at five underground shopping stores(Yongdungpo, Myongdong, Ulchiro, Express Terminal, Chamshil) in the Seoul area during February-October, 1992. Samples were collected using cascade impactor of low volumn air sampler and were analysed using High Performance Liquid Chromatography(HPLC) with fluorescence detector. Calibration on HPLC analyse is nearly accord with retention time between the standard solution and the samples. Analysed results obtained favorable analysing recovery rate of 97.3% and coefficient of variation of 1.60%. Mean concentrations of suspended particulate matters in five underground shopping stores wre 216.3 g/$m^3$ and observed higher at fine particles(117.2 g/$m^3$) which is respirable particulates than coarse particles(99.2 g/$m^3$). Concentrations of four species PAH were determined with anthracene of 16.8ng/$m^3$, fluoranthene of 72.3ng/$m^3$, benzo(a)pyrene of 0.54ng/$m^3$, and benzo(k)fluoranthene of 0.29ng/$m^3$, respectively. Fluoranthene levels were significantly higher than those levels in other components. PAHs concen-tration at shopping areas showed 21.3ng/$m^3$ in Yongdungpo, 35.1ng/$m^3$ in Myongdong, 23.4ng/$m^3$ in Ulchiro, 11.1ng/$m^3$ in Express Terminal, and 21.4ng/$m^3$ in Chamshil, respectively. Particularly, benzo(a)pyrene and benzo(k)-fluoranthene were detected over 83 percentage in fine particles, while fluoranthene wre highly detected in coarse particles. Also, higher concentrations of benzo(a)pyrene, benzo(k)fluoranthene were found in winter while levels of anthracene and fluoranthene were found higher in summer than other seasons.

도시대기의 미세먼지(PM$_{10}$) 및 주변토양중 다환방향족 탄화수소의 농도분포에 관한 연구 (Distribution of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in PM$_{10}$ and its Adjacent Soil of Urban Atmosphere)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the distribution of PAHs in atmosphere and soil, and their relationship, accumulation tendency in soil, and its contain burden ratio (%) the PM$_{10}$ and soil were sampled adjacent to a roadside and analysed by HPLC from August 25th 1996 to September 22nd 1996 in Seoul and Kunggido area. The main results are summarized below 1. The concentration of PM$_{10}$ in the ambient air was showed in order of industrial region ($142.70\pm 21.77 \mu g/m^3$), commercial region ($136.51\pm 31.62 \mu g/m^3$), residential region ($110.12\pm 14.98 \mu g/m^3$), greenbelt region ($77.44\pm 12.12 \mu g/m^3$), respectively. 2. Distribution of PAHs concentration level in PM$_{10}$ and soil was showed in order of industrial region, commercial region, residential region, greenbelt region, respectively in all components. 3. The contain burden ratio (%) in PM$_{10}$ was attested that BbF was the highest contain burden component (21.7-32%) and An was the lowest contain burden component (0.35-1.95%) in all region. 4. The contain burden ratio (%) in soil was attested that Pb (20.5%) was the highest and An (0.8%) was the lowest contain burden component in industrial region and BbF (21.9%) and An (0.45%) were the same tendency in commercial region and Py (21.6%) and BkF (3.5%) were in residential region, Py (29%) and An (2.6%) were in greenbelt region. 5. The relationship between concentration of PAHs in PM$_{10}$ and soil was attested that the component of BbF (r=0.514) was very highly correlated, and there were significant in Fl and BaA in soil between industrial region and commercial region (P<0.05).

배출가스 저감장치에 따른 Euro 5 경유 대형버스의 유해대기오염물질 배출특성 (Emission Characteristics of Hazardous Air Pollutants from Diesel Heavy Duty Buses for Euro 5 according to After-treatment Systems)

  • Emission characteristics of regulated (NOx, PM, CO, NMHC) and unregulated (VOCs, aldehydes, PAHs) air pollutants were investigated for diesel heavy duty buses equipped with different after-treatment systems (DPF+EGR and SCR) under urban driving cycle. The combustion temperature and the working temperature of SCR catalysts were important to make impact on NOx emissions, whereas PM emissions were low. The alkane groups dominated NMVOCs emissions, making 42.6~59.4% of sum of the NMVOCs emissions. Especially, alkane emissions of DPF+EGR-equipped vehicle included DOC had 14.9~15.5% higher than those of SCR-equipped vehicle due to low efficiency of oxidation catalyst. In the case of individual NMVOCs, n-nonane and propylene emissions highly occupied for DPF+EGR and SCR, respectively. Formaldehyde emissions among aldehydes were the highest and PAHs emissions were hardly detected except naphthalene and phenanthrene. The NMHC speciation has been shown to be the highest of the formaldehyde ranged 20.8~21.5%. The results of this study will be contributed to establish Korean HAPs emission inventory for automobile source.

다환방향족탄화수소에 대한 오존처리의 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Degradation of PAH in Organic and Aqueous Phases by Ozone)

  • 대부분의 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) 은 최우선 오염물질로 간주되어지고 있는 매우 유독한 물질이다. Pyrene은 PAHs들 중에서도 그 유독성은 가히 심각하다. 그리고 Pyrene과 다른 PAHs화합물들은 물에 잘 용해가 되지 않는 소수성 성질을 가지고 있어 화학적 또는 생물학적 분해가 용이하지 않다. 이러한 성질을 극복하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 Pyrene을 대표 물질로 하여 2 단계 오존처리를 하였다. 첫 단계에서 Pyrene을 무극성인 핵산 용매에 대량 (2000 mg/L) 으로 녹여 오존처리를 하였다. 이때 Pyrene은 극성 분자들, 즉 알콜과 알데하이드 그리고 에시드 기능기를 가지는 물질들로 변화되었으며 이 변화된 물질들을 다시 극성 용매, 물에 녹여 두 번째 오존처리를 하였다. 두 번째 오존 처리된 Pyrene의 부산물들과 중간생성물들은 생물학적 처리로 가능한지 연구되어지기 위해 $BOD_5$와 COD 그리고 E-coli toxicity tests가 이루어졌다. 그 결과 오존 처리된 Pyrene은 유독하지도 않았고 Pyrene의 부산물들과 중간생성물들은 생물학적 처리가 용이하여졌다. Gas chromatograph (GC) 분석을 통해 Pyrene의 부산물들과 중간생성물들을 밝혀내었다. 이 연구를 토대로 소수성 성질을 가지는 많은 방향족 물질들을 처리하기가 매우 용이해졌다.

가공식품 중 다환방향족탄화수소 분석 (Determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in processed foods)

  • 가공식품의 특성에 따른 PAHs (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons, 다환방향족탄화수소) 분석방법 확립 및 실태 파악을 위하여 가공식품 24종 165건 및 조리육류 6종 45건 총 210건을 분석하였다. 가공식품의 특성에 따라 식육 어육가공품, 유가공품, 조리육류 등은 알칼리분해방법, 음료류는 액-액 추출방법, 견과류가공품, 과채가공품은 초음파 추출방법으로 추출하고 Sep-Pak Florisil Cartridge로 정제하여 HPLC/FLD (High Performance Liquid Chromatography/Fluorescence Detector)로 동시 정량 분석하였다. 각각의 PAHs에 대한 회수율은 약 92~103%였고 검출한계는 PAH에 따라 차이가 있었으며 $0.1\sim1.0\;{\mu}g/kg$ 수준이었다. 대상식품 총 30종 중 26종에서 8종의 PAHs가 모두 불검출이었으며 검출된 식품 중 PAHs의 평균농도는 훈제연어에서 benzo(b)fluoranthene $0.9\;{\mu}g/kg$, 건바나나에서 benzo(b)fluoranthene $1.0\;{\mu}g/kg$, benzo(k)fluoranthene $0.3\;{\mu}g/kg$, benzo(a)pyrene $0.9\;{\mu}g/kg$, 훈제치킨에서 benzo(b)fluoranthene $0.2\;{\mu}g/kg$, benzo(k)fluoranthene $0.1\;{\mu}g/kg$, benzo(a)pyrene $0.2\;{\mu}g/kg$, 돼지고기 숯불석쇠구이에서 benzo(b)fluoranthene $1.3\;{\mu}g/kg$, benzo(k)fluoranthene $0.3\;{\mu}g/kg$, benzo(a)pyrene $0.9\;{\mu}g/kg$이었다.

마산과 행암 지역으로 유입되는 다환방향족탄화수소(PAHs)의 대기 침적 플럭스 산정과 특성 (Estimation and Characteristics of Atmospheric Deposition Flux of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) into the Masan and Haengam Areas of Korea)

  • Atmospheric bulk (wet and dry) samples were monthly collected in Masan and Heangam areas of Korea, to assess the deposition flux and seasonal variation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Deposition fluxes of PAHs in bulk samples were determined using gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometer detector (GC/MSD). Particle deposition fluxes from Masan and Haengam areas varied from 13 to $87\;g/m^2/year$ and from 5 to $52\;g/m^2/year$, respectively. PAHs deposition fluxes in atmospheric bulk samples in Masan and Haengam areas ranged from 135 to $464\;{\mu}g/m^2/year$ and from 62.2 to $194\;{\mu}g/m^2/year$, respectively. Atmospheric deposition fluxes of particles and PAHs in this study were comparable to or slightly lower values than those from different locations in Korea and other countries. PAHs profiles of atmospheric deposition bulk samples showed slightly different from two sampling areas, however the predominant species of PAHs were similar. Indeno (1,2,3-c,d)pyrene, benzo(g,h,i)perylene, phenanthrene compounds were the most detected PAHs in deposition bulk samples. Carcinogenic PAHs occupied the contribution of approximately $30-40\%$ of the total PAHs deposition fluxes. The non-metric multi-dimensional scaling (MDS) was used, to assess the differentiation of PAHs source between two sampling areas. The result suggests that PAHs contamination sources were different according to the location and season surveyed. There was no an apparent relationship between the PAHs deposition flux against temperature and rainfall amount, even though summer season with the highest temperature and the largest amount of precipitation showed the lowest PAHs deposition flux. Benzo(e)pyrene/benzo(a)pyrene ratio indicated that the photo-degradation process was one of important factors to the seasonal variation of PAHs with the lower deposition fluxes.

다환방향족 탄화수소의 나뭇잎 침착 (Deposition of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons on Tree Leaves)

  • 나뭇잎은 친지질성인 대기중 PAHs의 passive sampler로 많이 사용되고 있다. 특히 많은 지역의 PAHs 농도를 측정·비교해야 할 경우나 전기를 사용할 수 없는 먼지역의 농도를 측정해야 할 경우 시간적, 경제적으로 매우 유리한 방법이다. 그러나 부주의하게 시료를 채취하거나 농도를 계산할 때에 기준 선정이 잘못되면 좋지 않은 결과를 얻을수도 있다. 이 연구는 나뭇잎을 대기중 PAHs의 passive sampler로 사용할 때 생기는 이러한 문제점에 대하여 연구한 것으로 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1) 나뭇잎 중의 수분양, 지질양, 잎의 면적과 건중량 간에는 상관성이 없었고 그로 인하여 나뭇잎에 침착된 PAHs 농도도 잎의 습무게, 건중량, 지질양, 면적 기준으로 계산한 농도가 서로 달랐다. 이중 잎의 건중량(지질양이 포함된 무게) 기준으로 PAHs 농도를 표기하는 것이 나뭇잎의 성상과 자료의 호환성 때문에 가장 좋은 것으로 생각된다. 2) 같은 장소에서 채취한 나뭇잎도 수종간에 침착된 PAHs 농도 차가 상당히 컸으므로 서로 종류가 다른 나뭇잎간 농도를 비교해서는 아니된다. 소나무는 비교적 많은 나라에 자생하고 있고 상록수로서 겨울에도 시료채취가 가능하며 많은 연구자들이 이용하고 있으므로 자료의 호환성 면에서 가장 유리할 것으로 판단된다.

  • 미세입자는 폐포에 침착율이 높고 다환방향족탄화수소(PAHs)와 같은 독성이 강한 유기물질과 SO$_2$와 NOx 등의 무기가스들의 입자로의 변환으로 생성된 $H_2SO_4$, $NH_4HSO_4$${(NH_4)}_3H{(SO_4)}_2$ 등의 산성 황산화물 등과 같은 산성오염물질도 다량 함유하고 있다. 이러한 산성오염물질은 기침 및 호흡기 기능 저하와 같은 인체에 여러 가지 악영향을 미치는 것으로 알려져 있다(강병욱, 1998). 또한 대기에서 시정장애에 주로 영향을 미치는 입자는 0.1~1.0$\mu\textrm{m}$인 미세입자이며 그들중 황산염, 질산염 및 탄소함유성분들이 시정장애에 크게 기여하는 것으로 보고된다. 유류사고 이후 안면도 연안 해수 및 퇴적물의 다환방향족탄화수소(PAHs) 오염에 관한 연구 (Pollution of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Seawater and Marine Sediments from Anmyundo Coastal Area after Oil Spill)

  • Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were investigated in seawater and marine sediment from Anmyundo coastal area after oil spill. The concentrations of total PAHs in surface and bottom of seawater at August were 31.1 to 142.6 ng/L and 5.9 to 50.9 ng/L in August and November, respectively. The concentrations of PAHs in sediment were 21.0 to 102.9 ng/g D.W. and 32.3 to 57.4 ng/g D.W. in August and November, respectively. PAHs concentrations in seawater and sediment in August were higher than those in November about 2.5 and 1.4 times, respectively. Diagnostic ratio (PhA/AnT and FluA/Pyr) were investigated to identify source of PAHs in seawater and sediment. The PAHs in seawater originated from pyrolytic source and those in sediment originated from pyrolytic and petrogenic source. The glass, wood and coal origin was higher than petroleum origin on the combustion origin of PAHs in seawater and sediment. The seawater of Anmyundo costal area recovered from oil spill, but the sediments of that were weakly influenced by oil spill until now. Because this area is developed many fishing grounds, demanded Long Term Environmental Monitoring Program (LTEMP). The concentrations of PAHs on depth of sediments were investigated at station 8 and 10. The concentrations of PAHs were decreased with increasing depth.
