The Wireless Mesh Network technology is able to provide an infrastructure for isolated islands, in which it is difficult to install cables or wide area such as battlefield of armed forces. Therefore, Wireless Mesh Network is frequently used to satisfy needs for internet connection and active studies and research on them are in progress However, as a result of increase in number of hops under hop-by-hop communication environment has caused a significant decrease in throughput and an increase in delay. Considering the heavy traffic of real-time data, such as voice or moving pictures to adaptive WMN, in a military environment, it is restricted for remote units to have their Mesh Node to get real-time services. Such phenomenon might cause an issue in fairness. In order to resolve this issue, the Location-based Packet Scheduling Scheme, which can provide an fair QoS to each mesh node that is connected to each echelon's AP and operates based on WRR method that gives a priority to emergency message and control packet. The performance of this scheme is validated.

We design and implement explicit mobile multicast, named XMIP, by enhancing explicit multicast for a great number of small group multicast communications. XMIP is a straightforward multicast mechanism without maintaining multicast states due to the inheritance from the explicit multicast based on a unicast routing. This research modifies and extends the functionality of each mobility agent of IETF Mobile IP for interworking XMIP XMIP Packets captured by an extended home agent are forwarded to each extended foreign agent through nested tunnels, named X-in-X tunnels, made by the binding table of the extended home agent. X-in-X tunneling mechanism can effectively solve the serious traffic concentration problems of Mobile IP multicast specifications. Finally heterogeneous mobile networks as an XMIP testbed including CDMA2000 1X EV-DO and WLAN are actually established, and a multi-user instant messenger system for small group communications is developed for verifying the feasibility of the proposed protocols.

In wireless networks there are various errors, caused by multi-path fading and interference between devices which lower the network Performance. Especially, performance of IEEE 802.IS.3 High-Rate WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) which is operated in ISM unlicensed frequency band is easily affected by channel errors. In this paper, we propose a scheduling algorithm which takes channel errors into consideration in scheduling asynchronous data traffic. The proposed scheduling algorithm can allocate CTA(Channel Time Allocation) proportionally in accordance with the requested channel time of each device. It also prevents waste of channel time by allocating CTA of the channel-error devices to other channel-error free devices. After recovering from the channel error, the devices are compensated as much as they conceded during channel error status. Simulation results show that the proposed scheduling algorithm is superior to the existing SRPT(Shortest Remain Processing Time) and RR(Round Robin) in throughput and fairness aspects.

This paper presents a Cluster Oriented Multistage Interconnection Network called COMR. COMR can be constructed suitable for the parallel application with localized communication by providing the shortcut path inside the processor-memory cluster which has frequent data communication. We evaluate the performance of COMR with respect to probability of acceptance, bandwidth, cost-effectiveness and average distance under varying degrees of localized communication. According to the result of analysis for performance evaluation, COMR shows higher performance than the regular MINs of the same network size in the highly localized communication. In the worst case, the diameter of an N$\times$N COMR is only n+1 which has only one stage more as compared the MIN with the same network size. Therefore COMR can be used as an attractive interconnection network for parallel applications with not only the localized communication distribution but also the uniform distribution in shared-memory multiprocessor system.

MAC protocol for WBAN performs CSMA/CA(:Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance)algorithm that handles traffic which occurs in emergency with top priority in order to deal with variable data of sensor node for medicine. Emergency message that node sends undergoes collision and delay of transmission by retransmission of emergency message and waste of energy by retransmission. This paper suggests algorithm that minimizes loss of frame caused by collision and applies different backoff parameters by setting order of priority between MAC instruction frame and data frame in CSMA/CA algorithm case which applies order of priority queuing to improve aforementioned problem. According to performance evaluation, it has been found that using suggested MAC protocol showed lower collision probability, higher packet transmission processing ratio and lower packet loss compared with using IEEE 802.15.6.
Routers should perform fast IP address lookup for Internet to provide high-speed service. In this paper, we present a hybrid parallel IP address lookup structure composed of four-stage pipeline. It achieves parallelism at low cost by using multiple SRAMs in stage 2 and partitioned TCAMs in stage 3, and improves the performance through pipelining. The smart distributor in stage 1 does not transfer any IP address identical to previous one toward the next stage, but only uses the result of the previous lookup. So it improves throughput of lookup by caching effects, and decreases the access conflict to TCAM bank in stage 3 as well. In the last stage, the reorder buffer rearranges the completed IP addresses according to the input order. We evaluate the performance of our parallel pipelined IP lookup structure comparing with previous hybrid structure, using the real routing table and traffic distributions generated by Zipf's law.
Along with advanced vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication technologies, platooning is regarded as one of the most promising form of autonomous driving solutions in order to increase road capacity. In this paper, we propose a novel V2V transmission scheme for safety message dissemination in platooning. The proposed scheme enhances the efficiency of channel access and multi-vehicle orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission by taking advantage of triggered uplink access technique and null data packet feedback report protocol introduced in the sixth generation WLAN standard, IEEE 802.11ax. The simulation results prove that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional IEEE 802.11 transmission scheme throughout all measured vehicle density range.

This paper describes packet scheduling techniques that can be used to alleviate the impact of interference. The mechanism is consisted of interference estimation and master delay police. Proposed scheduling police is effective in reducing packet loss and delay. Another advantage worth mentioning, are the additional saving s in the transmitter power since packet are not transmitted when channel is bad. This paper gives that scheduling policy works only with data traffic since voice packets need to be sent at fixed intervals. However, if the delay variance is constant and the delay can be limited to a slot, it may be worthwhile to use DM packet for voice.

Today's smartphones and user devices are equipped with multiple radio interfaces increasingly. Aggregating theses multiple radio interfaces and using them concurrently will increase a user's communication speed immediately, but at the expense of increased power consumption. In this paper, we develop a mathematical performance model of an adaptive radio activation scheme by which a radio interface is activated only when needed for performance increase and deactivated otherwise. The developed model shows that the adaptive scheme reduces delay significantly and almost halves power consumption below a certain level of traffic input.

This paper proposes a new multipath-based routing protocol on MANETs with Fast-Recovery of failures. The proposed protocol establishes the primary and secondary paths between a source and a destination considering the end-to-end packet reception reliability of routes. The primary path is used to transmit messages, and the secondary path is used to recover the path when detecting failures on the primary path. If a node detects a link failure during message transmission, it can recover the path locally by switching from the primary to the secondary path. By allowing the intermediate nodes to recover locally the route failure, the proposed protocol can reduce the number of packet loss and the amount of control packets for setting up new paths. The simulation result using QualNet simulator shows that the proposed protocol was about 10-20% higher than other protocols in terms of end-to-end message delivery ratio and the fault recovery time in case of link fault was about 3 times faster than the other protocols.
