Photochemical Reflectance Index (PRI) Mapping using Drone-based Hyperspectral Image for Evaluation of Crop Stress and its Application to Multispectral Imagery (작물 스트레스 평가를 위한 드론 초분광 영상 기반 광화학반사지수 산출 및 다중분광 영상에의 적용)

  • The detection of crop stress is an important issue for the accurate assessment of yield decline. The photochemical reflectance index (PRI) was developed as a remotely sensed indicator of light use efficiency (LUE). The PRI has been tested in crop stress detection and a number of studies demonstrated the feasibility of using it. However, only few studies have focused on the use of PRI from remote sensing imagery. The monitoring of PRI using drone and satellite is made difficult by the low spectral resolution image captures. In order to estimate PRI from multispectral sensor, we propose a band fusion method using adjacent bands. The method is applied to the drone-based hyperspectral and multispectral imagery and estimated PRI explain 79% of the original PRI. And time series analyses showed that two PRI data (drone-based and SRS sensor) had very similar temporal variations. From these results, PRI from multispectral imagery using band fusion can be used as a new method for evaluation of crop stress.

  • Given that the utilization of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is recently increased, a variety of UAV control methods are being applied. In general, it has been used a lot to directly control a UAV via manipulator. However, tangible user interface is required to control UAVs accurately. This paper proposes a method for controlling an UAV based on multiple Myos. The UAV is connected to a ground control station and then controlled by Myos. Intuitive control is possible by controlling the UAV using tangible user interface.

A New Scheme Based On Multiple Antennas For Tracking Illegal Small Drones (다중 안테나 기반의 불법 소형 드론 추적 성능 개선 기법)

  • In this paper, we investigate how to track illegal drones by using communication signal received from illegal drones, which is a promising candidate position tracking scheme for anti-drone systems, and is particularly effective in tracking small illegal drones in urban areas. We propose an enhanced tracking scheme using multiple antennas to improve the performance of tracking by reducing the error of position tracking. In the proposed tracking scheme, a tracker is equipped with four receive antennas that are evenly spaced 90 degrees apart, and received signal strength indicators (RSSIs) received by four receive antennas are pre-averaged before being used to calculate the distance between tracker and target. Our numerical results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional scheme in terms of accuracy.

  • In the field of forest disaster prevention, drones are expected to save higher human resources than the existing manpower has, and produce high-efficiency results over time. However, operational limitations brought by short flight times have brought the environment of limited use of the various capabilities of the drone, and the existing development systems operating the multi-drone are mainly for performance purpose, so it is a difficult to use for forest disaster prevention. The purpose of this paper is to design the concept based on multi-drone operation procedure through analysis of mission of ground control system for forest disaster prevention.

  • In order to detect urban conditions, the number of means of transportation and traffic flow are essential factors to be identified. This paper improved the detection system capabilities shown in previous studies using the SwinTransformer model, which showed higher performance than existing convolutional neural networks, by learning various vehicle types using existing Mask R-CNN and introducing today's widely used transformer model to detect certain types of vehicles in urban aerial images.

  • 본 논문에서는 시작 노드와 목적지 노드 까지의 최단경로를 중점으로 가장 인접한 경유지를 선택하고 경유지가 다수일 경우 하모니서치 알고리즘을 통해 최적의 경로를 탐색하는 기법을 제안한다. 본 논문의 기법은 기존의 사용자의 현 위치에서 인접한 경유지를 추천해주는 시스템과 달리 목적지까지의 경로 전체에서 가장 인접한경유지를 선택해준다는 차별점이 있다. 그렇게 선택된 경유지들은 하모니서치 알고리즘을 사용하여 최적의 경로를 제안한다. 본 논문의 기법은 최단경로의 이탈을 최소화한 경유지 선택으로 거리, 시간, 비용적 측면에서 효율적이며 길을 헤매서 생기는 불필요한 지연을 최소화할 수 있다. 자율주행, 비행기, 선박, 드론 등 최적 경로 이탈시 큰 손실을 안기거나 위험한 시스템에 적용시 큰 효과를 거둘 수 있다.

Quantitative Estimation of Shoreline Changes Using Multi-sensor Datasets: A Case Study for Bangamoeri Beaches (다중센서를 이용한 해안선의 정량적 변화 추정: 방아머리 해빈을 중심으로)

  • Long-term coastal topographical data is critical for analyzing temporal and spatial changes in shorelines. Especially understanding the change trends is essential for future coastal management. For this research, in the data preparation, we obtained digital aerial images, terrestrial laser scanning data and UAV images in the year of 2009. 2018 and 2019 respectively. Also tidal observation data obtained by the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency were used for Bangamoeri beach located in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do. In the process of it, we applied the photogrammetric technique to extract the coastline of 4.40 m from the stereo images of 2009 by stereoscopic viewing. In 2018, digital elevation model was generated by using the raw data obtained from the laser scanner and the corresponding shoreline was semi-automatically extracted. In 2019, a digital elevation model was generated from the drone images to extract the coastline. Finally the change rate of shorelines was calculated using Digital Shoreline Analysis System. Also qualitative analysis was presented.

  • RGB나 다중분광영상은 높은 공간 해상도로 인해 크기가 작은 물질의 클래스를 부여하는데 있어서는 효과적이지만 분광해상도가 낮아 다양한 종류의 지표물 분류 및 분광적으로 미세한 차이를 보이는 대상 체간의 분류에는 한계를 가지고 있다. 그러나 초분광 영상(Hyperspectral Image)은 대상 객체의 분광 반사곡선을 수백개의 연속적인 분광 파장대 영역으로 상세하게 해당 물체의 정보를 취득할 수 있는 기능을 가지고 있다. 최근 국내에서도 초분광 영상을 이용한 토지피복도 작성 및 환경 모니터링 등 다양한 분야에 적용하기 위한 연구가 시도되고 있다. 최근에는 드론과 같은 소형 UAV를 활용하여 경제적인 비용으로 시공간해상도가 높은 영상을 획득하는 것이 가능하게 되었으며 분광정보를 수집하는 영상 장비의 발전으로 드론에 탑재가 가능한 경량의 소형 초분광센서가 개발됨으로써 보다 높은 분광해상도의 영상을 취득할 수 있게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 효율적인 하천환경조사를 위해 UAV를 활용하여 고해상도 초분광 영상을 취득하였으며, 차원축소법과 분류기 적용에 따른 공간 분류 정확도 분석을 통해 하천환경에 대한 분류 및 평가를 실시하였다. 연구지역에서 획득한 초분광 영상은 노이즈로 인한 영향을 줄이고자 MNF와 PCA 기법으로 차원축소를 수행하였으며, MLC(Maximum Likelihood Classification)와 SVM(Support Vector Machine), SAM(Spectral Angle Mapping) 감독분류기법을 적용하여 하천환경특성에 따른 공간분류를 수행하였다. 연구 결과 MNF기법으로 차원 축소한 영상을 적용하여 MLC 감독분류를 수행하였을 때 가장 높은 분류정확도를 얻을 수 있었으나, 일부 클래스 및 수역의 경계와 그림자 공간에서 주로 오분류가 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Accuracy Assessment of Environmental Damage Range Calculation Using Drone Sensing Data and Vegetation Index (드론센싱자료와 식생지수를 활용한 환경피해범위 산출 정확도 평가)

  • In this study, we explored a method for assessing the extent of damage caused by chemical substances at an accident site through the use of a vegetation index. Data collection involved the deployment of two different drone types, and the damaged area was determined using photogrammetry technology from the 3D point cloud data. To create a vegetation index image, we utilized spectral band data from a multi-spectral sensor to generate an orthoimage. Subsequently, we conducted statistical analyses of the accident site with respect to the damaged area using a predefined threshold value. The Kappa values for the vegetation index, based on the near-infrared band and the green band, were found to be 0.79 and 0.76, respectively. These results suggest that the vegetation index-based approach for analyzing damage areas can be effectively applied in investigations of chemical accidents.

Drone-based Vegetation Index Analysis Considering Vegetation Vitality (식생 활력도를 고려한 드론 기반의 식생지수 분석)

  • Vegetation information is a very important factor used in various fields such as urban planning, landscaping, water resources, and the environment. Vegetation varies according to canopy density or chlorophyll content, but vegetation vitality is not considered when classifying vegetation areas in previous studies. In this study, in order to satisfy various applied studies, a study was conducted to set a threshold value of vegetation index considering vegetation vitality. First, an eBee fixed-wing drone was equipped with a multi-spectral camera to construct optical and near-infrared orthomosaic images. Then, GIS calculation was performed for each orthomosaic image to calculate the NDVI, GNDVI, SAVI, and MSAVI vegetation index. In addition, the vegetation position of the target site was investigated through VRS survey, and the accuracy of each vegetation index was evaluated using vegetation vitality. As a result, the scenario in which the vegetation vitality point was selected as the vegetation area was higher in the classification accuracy of the vegetation index than the scenario in which the vegetation vitality point was slightly insufficient. In addition, the Kappa coefficient for each vegetation index calculated by overlapping with each site survey point was used to select the best threshold value of vegetation index for classifying vegetation by scenario. Therefore, the evaluation of vegetation index accuracy considering the vegetation vitality suggested in this study is expected to provide useful information for decision-making support in various business fields such as city planning in the future.
