Evaluation of A Removal Process for the Residual Uranium from the Simulated Radwaste Solution by Solvent Extraction with TBP (TBP 용매추출에 의한 잔존 우라늄 제거공정 평가)

  • This study was carried out to find the optimal operating conditions for separation of residual uranium from the simulated radwaste solution containing 19 elements, and to evaluate the validity of the process. The selected process was based on the solvent extraction with TBP(tributyl phosphate). As an extractor, two miniature mixer-settlers with a total of 18 stages were used. Extraction yield of U, Np and Tc was about 99.2%. 32.1%, and 99.9%, respectively. The other elements were coextracted in the range of 1~4%. Extraction yield of U exceeded those of the previous work performed with batch system, which resulted in the low extractability of U (about 80%) according to the coexisting element such as Nd and Fe. It was due to the characteristics of multi-stage extractor. On the other hand, low extractability of Np was caused by various oxidation states in the nitric acid medium. In the case of Tc, its high extractability may be attributed to the complex formation with Zr and U, which is not well proved yet. All elements extracted with TBP were stripped into aqueous phase more than 99% by 0.01M $HNO_3$. From the results, this process has no problem with respect to in the same step was required, because Np was distributed in the raffinate and U product, respectively.

Practical Page Segmentation using Connected Components and Color Information (연결요소와 색상정보를 이용한 실제적 문서영상 분할)

  • While page segmentation is an important step in document recognition, there haven's been many researches on it. More improvement is still needed on the segmentation of document elements in complicated or color documents. In this paper, I present a new page segmentation method which can segment pages with multiple columns, dotted lines, graphics, and photographs. I extract all connected components using contour following and combine them depending on the size and positional information of them. Separate text location is done for non-text color regions to extract possible text lines. To see the performance of the proposed method, experiments are done for 180 documents. Four commercial OCR programs are also tested and the proposed method showed the best result.

  • Under Article 19, Paragraph 1 of the Food Industry Promotion Act, Rural Development Administration renews the Korean foods composition table every five years. Before the publication of the tenth revision of the Korean foods composition table in 2021, this paper suggests methods for collecting representative samples of 182 highly consumed foods in Korea. Food markets are categorized by their distribution channels, which are supermarkets and local markets. Eight samples are collected from each category by applying the National Food and Nutrient Analysis Program (NFNAP)'s stratified multi-stage sampling. The NFNAP was implemented in 1997 as a collaborative food composition research effort between the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) to secure reliable estimates for the nutrient content of food and beverages consumed by the US population. Selected supermarkets for selecting representative food samples are Emart Kayang, Homeplus Siheung, Lottemart Dongducheon, Emart Suwon, Lottemart Dunsan, Lottemart Yeosu, Emart Ulsan, and Hanaroclub Ulsan. Selected local markets also are Doksandongusijang in Geumcheon-gu and Pungnapsijang in Songpa-gu, Seoul, Ilsansijang in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang, Unamsijang in Buk-gu, Gwangju, Beopdongsijang in Daedeok-gu, Daejeon, Bongnaesijang in Yeongdo-gu and Jwadongjaeraesijang in Haeundae-gu, Busan, and Jungangsijang in Jinhae-gu, Changwon.

  • The separation of benzene-cyclohexane mixture using (O/W)/O emulsion liquid membrane was studied. The operating parameters which can affect the selectivity, benzene yield, and emulsion size distribution were examined and determined by the batch type operation. The unsteady state and steady state extraction behavior in continuous pulse stirred reactor(CPSR) were verified. The optimum conditions for benzene selectivity and yield in batch operation were as follows; emulsion mixing intensity 4000 rpm, Tween 80 concentration 0.4%, volume ratio of membrane phase to internal phase 0.75, volume ratio of dispersed phase to continuous phase 0.5, and permeation time 10 minutes, As impeller speed increased and the microdrop holdup decreased, the Sauter mean diameter decreased. Turbulence damping parameter of modified Calabrease correlation considering microdrop holdup was 2.28. The optimum conditions of continuous operation were as follows; agitation speed 300 rpm, pulse frequence 2 times/sec, flow rate of continuous phase 30ml/min, and flow rate of emulsion phase 12.0ml/min.

  • Spent photovoltaic module is one of the important resource of silver, while related research concerning silver recovery remains limited. In our previous research, HNO3 was utilized to dissolve Ag(I) and Al(III) from the spent silicon solar cells. In order to recover Ag(I) from the leachate of a silicon solar cell, the present study made use of a nitrate solution containing Ag(I) and Al(III), which was subjected to a solvent extraction process with 5,8-diethyl-7-hydroxydodecan-6-oxime (LIX63). Ag(I) was selectively extracted with LIX63 over Al(III) from the nitrate leach solution. Subsequently, quantitative stripping of Ag(I) from the loaded LIX63 was performed by using 20% ammonia water. The McCabe-Thiele plots for the extraction and stripping isotherms of Ag(I) were also constructed. Extraction and stripping simulation tests confirmed an Ag(I) extraction and stripping efficiency of >99.99% and 98.9%, respectively with high purity Ag (99.998%) and Al (99.99%) solution. A process flow sheet for Ag(I) recovery from the nitrate leach solution was proposed.

Deskewing Document Image using the Gradient of the Spaces Between Sentences. (문장 사이의 공백 기울기를 이용한 문서 이미지 기울기 보정)

  • In this paper, we propose a method to detect the gradient of the spaces between sentences and to deskew in the document image. First, gradient is measured by pixels for spaces between sentences that has been done an edge extraction in document image and then skewed image is corrected by using the value of the gradient which has been measured. Since document image is divided into several areas, it shows a robust processing result by handling the margin, images, and multistage form in the document. Because the proposed method does not use pixel of the character region but use the blank area, degraded document image as well as vivid document image is effectively corrected than conventional method.

  • In this paper, we propose a method for nonlinear grapheme segmentation in Korean printed character type classification. The characters are subdivided into six types based on character type information. The feature vector is consist of mesh features, vertical projection features and horizontal projection features which are extracted from gray-level images. We classify characters into 6 types using Back propagation. Character segmentation regions are determined based on character type information. Then, an optimal nonlinear grapheme segmentation path is found using multi-stage graph search algorithm. As the result, a proposed methodology is proper to classify character type and to find nonlinear char segmentation paths.

  • 로즈마리(Rosmarinus officinalis)는 지중해 지역이 원산이고 꿀풀과에 속하는 다년생 식물로 자생지에서는 식물의 크기가 2m까지 자라는 관목성 식물이다. 식용, 약용, 미용, 향료뿐 아니라 관상용으로도 널리 이용되고 있고 특히 향이 좋아 세계 로즈마리 추출물 시장은 연평균 4.8%씩 증가하여 2027년에는 10억 달러를 넘을 것으로 예측된다. 우리나라도 소비 트렌드 변화에 따른 이용성 확대로 신선허브의 수요가 증가하고 있으나 아직은 허브 식물원료의 대부분을 수입에 의존하고 있고, 로즈마리 역시 식물원료뿐 아니라 가공품까지 외국에서 수입하여 사용하는 실정이다. 2018년 로즈마리 수입량은 신선상태 978kg, 건조상태 23,404kg으로 높은 수입의존에 따른 가격 상승과 긴 유통기간에 의한 품질 저하 등의 문제가 발생하고 있다. 본 연구는 로즈마리 어린 순 재배 적정 삽수 길이를 설정하고 어린 순 생산 가능 기간을 구명하여 추후에 고품질 로즈마리 어린 순 집약생산을 위한 다단재배기술을 확립하고자 수행되었다. 삽수 길이는 5, 10, 15cm로 하였고, 삽목 시기는 4월 하순 ~ 8월 하순까지 30일 간격으로 5회 실시하였다. 적정 삽수 길이 설정 실험에서는 15cm 삽수 발근률이 85.6%로 가장 높았으며 신초 출현시기는 5월 26일, 어린 순 생산시기는 6월 23일로 가장 빨랐고 수확시까지 소요일수는 56일로 가장 짧았다. 기대수량 또한 728g/m2로 가장 높았다. 로즈마리 어린 순 생산 가능 기간 구명 실험에서는 4월 28일 삽목시 발근율이 85.6%로 가장 높았고 육묘기간은 28일 어린 순 생산까지 소요일수는 56일로 가장 짧았다. 삽목 시기별 어린 순 품질 및 생산량은 4월 28일 삽목시 품질이 좋았으며 기대수량 또한 728g/m2로 가장 높았다. 결과적으로 상품성 있는 어린순 생산에 적합한 삽수 길이는 15cm, 삽목 시기는 4월 하순 경에 했을 때, 로즈마리의 생육상태, 수확까지의 기간, 어린 순 생산량 등 종합적인 면에서 가장 우수한 값을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 지하수 함양량을 산정하기 위해서 유역물수지 모형 또는 지하수위 변동곡선법등이 활용되어 왔으며, 각각의 장단점에 대한 많은 논의가 있었다. 지역내의 지하수 관리계획을 위해서는 유역물수지 모형이 적합한 반면, 실제(actual) 함양량의 정확성 문제가 있으며, 지하수위 변동곡선법은 실제 지하수의 증감을 통해 실제 함양변화를 잘 표현하는 반면, 그 영향권이 관측공에 의해 제한된다는 단점이 있다. 이와 같은 두 방법의 장점을 살리고 단점을 보완하기 위해 본 연구에서는 유역유출모의와 지하수위 변동을 동시에 고려하여 지하수 함양량을 추정하는 방안을 제시하였다. 수문학적 과정으로 함양을 분석하기 위해 준분포형 수문모형인 SWAT과 완전분포형 지하수 유동해석 모형인 MODFLOW의 결합모형을 이용한 유역단위 유출해석을 수행한다. 실제로 하천변에 위치한 관측공에서의 지하수위는 하천유출시계열과 유사한 양상을 보이며, 상류 경사지에 위치한 관측공의 지하수위는 토양수의 지체와 감수현상을 나타내므로 이같이 시간적으로 상이한 지체 양상을 반영하기 위해 모형내의 비포화대를 통과하는 함양의 거동을 기존의 단일 저수지 모형에서 다단 저수지 모형으로 개선하고 지체함수와 관련된 매개변수를 보정함으로써 모의 함양 시계열과 관측 지하수위 시계열간의 상관성 분석을 수행할 수 있다. 아울러 모의 및 관측 지하수위 분포의 비교를 통해 공간적인 지하수 분포에 대한 검증을 수행함으로써 함양량 산정 절차가 완성된다. 이같은 일련의 절차는 기존의 유역물수지 모형과 지하수위 변동법을 동시에 고려한 새로운 방식의 지하수 함양량 산정기법으로 제시할 수 있을 것이다.성빈맥(1예), 저심박출증(3예), 재수술이 필요했던 출혈(2예), 흉골 지연봉합(2예), 급성 신부전(2예), 폐렴(1예), 대동맥내 풍선펌프로 인한 혈전색전증(1예),수술 후 섬망(2예) 등이 있었다. 생존한 10명의 환자들 중 1명을 제외한 나머지 9명의 환자에서 $38{\pm}40$개월간의 추적관찰이 되었는데, 추적 관찰 기간 중에 3명이 사망하였고 생존한 6명의 환자는 모두 양호한 상태(NYHA 기능등급, $I{\sim}II$)를 보였으며, 그 중 3명에서는 혈역학적으로 큰 의미가 없는 잔여단락이 있었다. 결론: 급성 심근경색증 후 심실중격 결손은 수술위험도가 높은 질환이지만, 수술 전 대동맥내 풍선펌프를 삽입하고 조기에 심실중격 결손부의 infarct exclusion 술식과 함께 관상동맥우회술을 시행함으로써 만족할 만한 수술 및 중기 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.출물 투여로 저하되었으나 NC군보다는 높게 나타났다. 간 중 중성지질 함량은 참나물 에탄올 추출물 투여 용량에 따른 유의차가 없었으나, 총콜레스테롤 함량은 고용량 병합투여한 HC-PBH군만 유의하게 저하되었다. 혈청 및 간 중의 지질 함량 변화는 정상식이를 급여한 NC군과 NC-PB군 간에는 유의차가 없었다. 따라서 고콜레스테롤식이를 급여하면서 참나물 에탄올 추출물을 병합투여 시에만 지질대사 개선 효과가 있는 것으로 여겨지며, 고용량 병합투여 시 효능이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 고콜레스테롤식이로 인한 산화적 스트레스가 고콜레스테롤혈증을 유발하였으며, 이는 참나물 에탄올 추출물에 함유된 항산화물질을 포함한 여러 생리활성물질

Solvent Leaching Characteristics of Dark Brownish Pigment from Activated Charcoal used in Decolorization of Crude Polysaccharide from Auricularia auricula (흑목이 버섯 다당류의 탈색에 사용된 활성탄으로부터 흑갈색 색소의 용매 침출 특성)

  • A dark brownish pigment in the crude polysaccharide from Auricularia auricula was adsorbed by activated charcoal. The leaching of the pigment adsorbed on activated charcoal and regeneration of activated charcoal used was investigated with eight kinds of solvents. The highest leaching capacity was obtained with the alkaline solution (KOH). The optimum volume of 1 M KOH solution per activated carbon was 45 mL/g, and the treatment for 10 min during single stage leaching was sufficient to achieve the leaching equilibrium. Second-order kinetic model provided the best fitting for the pigment leaching. The pigment leaching capacity of 88.9% was obtained by seven times of treatment with 1 M KOH solution at 25$^{\circ}C$, while at 95$^{\circ}C$, leaching capacity of 82.6% was achieved with single stage alone showing the significant increase of leaching capacity with increasing temperature. The regenerated activated charcoal was nearly as effective as fresh activated charcoal in pigment adsorption of crude polysaccharide from Auricularia auricula.
