  • For the control of pre-burner combustion pressure, the open angle of TTR(Throttle for Thrust Regulation) valve was varied from $143^{\circ}$ to $185^{\circ}$ while testing of cold flow, ignition, combustion. The major performance variables of rocket engine and hydraulic performance of TTR valve regarding the open angle was verified. However the controllability of pre-burner combustion pressure was not verified due to the limitations of test. The comprehensive research will be done after supplementing these problems.

  • Ignition of hydrogen-air premixed gas in the vicinity of a hot surface has been investigated. Especially multistep reaction model was compared with a single reaction model. It was found that the multistep model with 48 step elementary chemical reactions produced a phenomenologically reasonable trend in ignition delays. The ignition d(2lays increase as the mixture becomes either fuel-rich or fuel-lean with a minimum near the stoichiometric value. The minimum surface temperature has been deduced by extrapolating predicted ignition delays. It was in quite good agreement with the experimental data.

  • Flame onset and propagation within hydrogen premixed gas mixture are numerically investigated in an rectangular enclosure. A detailed chemistry for hydrogen reaction is applied to anticipate the thermochemical behavior of intermediate species appropriately. To facilitate computation, 10 species and 16 elementary reaction steps for hydrogen combustion are taken into account. On the basis of 30 % of hydrogen concentration in hydrogen-air mixture, the effects of position and quantity of ignition sources on the flame evolution are analyzed. From the simulation results, the means that can lessen the possible hazard caused by flame propagation are suggested.

  • Currently, in order to meet the reinforced emissions regulations for harmful exhaust gas including carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) as a greenhouse gas, technologies for reducing $CO_2$ emission and fuel consumption are being developed. Gasoline direct injection (GDI) systems have the advantage of improved fuel economy and higher power output than port fuel injection gasoline engine systems. The aim of this study is to examine the performance and emission characteristics of a lean burn GDI engine equipped with spray-guided-type combustion system. Stable lean combustion was achieved with a late fuel injection strategy under a constant operating condition. Further improvement in specific fuel consumption is possible with the introduction of multiple fuel injection strategies, which also increases hydrocarbon (HC) and nitrogen oxide ($NO_x$) emissions and decreases carbon monoxide (CO) emission.

  • Combustion pressures were measured to study combustion stability for an oxygen rich preburner by both of static and dynamic pressure sensors. The resolutions of each static and dynamic pressure sensor are the 1,000 Hz and 25,600 Hz, respectively. The nominal combustion pressure of the preburner was 200 bar but 80 bar was used at the several initial tests for the safety reason. Two stage ignition was applied to reduce the ignition impact for every tests including the tests with 200 bar combustion pressure. The tests lasted for 10 sec. max. and a little fluctuations of pressure was observed during the main mode. The measured pressures were studied by FFT analysis and no noticeable frequency coupling was found. Thus the preburner can be regarded as stable and it can be utilized for further study on staged combustion cycle liquid rocket engine.

  • A Space Launch Vehicle (SLV) for Launching Satellites Consists of Multi-stage Rockets for the Purpose of Efficient Flight and Accomplishes the Launch Mission through Flight Events such as Stage Separation, Engine Start and Stop. In this Process, the SLV is Supposed to Undergo the Processes of the Powered Flight Section in which the Engine Generates Thrust and the Ballistic Flight Section in which there is no Thrust Repeatedly. Because it is Difficult to Express these Flight Characteristics of the SLV as a Single Dynamics Model, much Research on Tracking Algorithms using Multiple Models has been Undertaken. In case of using the Multiple Model Tracking Algorithm, it is Expected to Improve the Tracking Performance of the SLV. However, it is Difficult to Select Proper Dynamics Models to be used and the Calculation Amount Increases due to the use of Multiple Models. In this Paper, we Propose a Method to Track the SLV with Diverse Flight Characteristics Efficiently by only Two Kalman Filters using Constant Acceleration Model and Adaptive Singer Model.
