A Study on the Cost Structure for Joint Logistics in Multi-Stage Distribution Chain of E-Commerce Environment (전자상거래상의 다단계 분배체계의 물류공동화를 위한 비용구조에 관한 연구)

  • Distribution Activity for customer is preferred at Physical distribution system in e-commerce, so fast delivery and low distribution cost determine the core competency of enterprise. Because there is no cooperative system between with distribution centers in traditional distribution system, it is difficult to optimize the system. The purpose of this paper is to propose a cost structure model for multi-stage distribution system, which is used for determination of joint lot size and optimal demand and transportation policy. It is expected to contribute to development of algorithm for joint distribution system, which is minimized the transportation cost by the result of this cost structure model.

  • Many of these studies represent a large scale distribution network with a unified formulation by using defined symbols. This can be evaluated as a valuable progress toward accomplishing of a systematic approach the area of distribution network. Unfortunately. transportation problem and inventory policy applied in these studies have an assumption of using an unique supplier for calculating the transportation cost among each distribution echelon. This assumption can cause many problems such that transportation problem is assumed as linear problem, too many number of distribution center are allowed to operate and many more. In order to overcome above unrealistic problems, we developed an algorithm of responding to customers' demand under the refill allowance of same level supply as anew constructional method of inventory distribution network. When backorders are happened in regional distribution center, this algorithm allows transferring finished goods to customer directly from vicinal Regional distribution center instead of existing central distribution center for quick response.

  • A major challenge to supply chain managers is how to control inventories and costs along the supply chain while maximizing customer service Performance. In the literature, although the optimal management of inventory along the supply chain has received considerable attention during the past decades, the attention has been mainly given to multi-echelon control policies. A prerequisite for applying these policies is full information transparency in the supply chain, which is hard to accomplish in practice because it may require major organizational chanties. In the case that a decentralized control (local (R, S) policy) should be used at each location in multi-stave distribution systems, this paper presents the coordinating approach of determining the best policy which satisfies predetermined target customer service levels and minimizes the mean physical stock along the system.

  • The design of multi -echelon distribution system is need for appropriate inventory control strategy considering for systematic tradeoff between trunk cost in central warehouse and inventory cost in regional warehouse.   • The algorithm of customer demand decomposition suggested by this study is a reconstruction method of distribution network under the allowance of same level supply. Regional distribution center(RDC) distributes additional inventories of some of the supplying items to retailers under its charge to reduce the time needed for emergency delivery to neighborhood retailer where backlog happened. This also restrict the purpose of the inventories held by RDC as only regular supply. All of which leads to the creation of more realistic method allowing the affiliation of closing related RDC with one in the vicinity. In this study, the role of RDC is restricted only as supplying items regularity and the conruction of distribution system processing through the closing by consideration of the possibility of supplying retailers from the RDC in the vicinity is discussed.

  • This paper deals with ordering policies for a multi-echelon distribution system. The system we are concerned consists of one Central Distribution Center(CDC) and N nonidentical Regional Distribution Centers(RDCs) which have different demand rates, minimum filtrates, leadtimes, etc. We develop an algorithm for determining the optimal ordering policies of the CDC and the RDCs under the constraints of minimum filtrates of RDCs and maximum allowable delay of CDC.

  • In most of supply chain planning practices, the estimated demands, which are forecasted for each individual period in a forecasting window, are regarded as deterministic. But, in reality, the forecasted demands for the periods of a given horizon are stochastically distributed. Instead of using a safety stock, this study considers a direct control of service level by choosing the demand used in planning from the distributed forecasted demand values for the corresponding period. Using the demand quantile and echelon stock concept, we propose a simple but efficient heuristic algorithm for multi-echelon serial systems under service level constraints. Through a comprehensive simulation study, the proposed algorithm was shown to be very accurate compared with the optimal solutions.

  • The objective of this study is to establish an actual optimization strategy for the traditional multi-stage distribution system which consists of factory warehouse, central distribution warehouse, and regional distribution warehouse under the basic assumption of distribution system. A minimization algorithm of total operating cost in a multi-stage distribution system was developed by expanding the previously existing algorithm through consideration of additional transportation environment. Alternative non-linear transportation costs for the same travel distance can be applied for the multi-stage distribution system by estimating the corresponding characteristic values through the collection of the actual data representing the change of transportation circumstances.

  • This paper deals with ordering policies of consumable goods which have large demand rates in a multi-level distribution system. The system we are concerned consists of one Central Distribution Center(CDC) and N non-identical Regional Distribution Centers(RDCs) which have different demand rates, minimum fillrates, leadtimes, etc. The customer demand on the RDC is stationary poisson and the RDCs demand on the CDC is superposition of Q-stage Erlang distributions. We approximate the RDCs and CDC demand distribution to nomal in order to enhance the efficiency of algorithm. The relevant costs include a fixed ordering cost and inventory holding cost, and backorder cost. The objective is to find a continuous-review ordering policy that minimizes the expected average costs under constraints of minimum fill rates of RDCs and maximum allowable mean delay of CDC. We developed an algorithm for determining the optimal ordering policies of the CDC and the RDCs. We verified and compared the performance of the algorithm through the simulation using the algorithm result as the input parameters.

  • TV와 인터넷을 통한 전자상거래가 급증하면서 택배 및 배송시장이 급격하게 성장하고 있으나, 효율적이지 못한 물류체계로 물류비 부담이 높아지고 있어서 실질적인 이익은 시장증가에 미치지 못하고 있다. 현재 전자상거래의 쟁점은 소핑몰의 유형문제와 택배시스템/유통구조의 문제로서 다양한 해결책이 제시되고 있다. 본 연구는 직매입 형태로 마케팅과 직접 배송을 하는 회사를 대상으로 전자상거래의 특징인 촉진적 할인가격을 적용시키면서 기존의 중앙물류센터-지역물류센터-소비자 형태의 유통구조를 중앙물류센터-소비자로 변화시킨 지역물류센터의 일별재고량을 최소화 하는 모델을 제시하여 다단계 유통구조를 개선함으로써 회사의 이익을 증대시킬 수 있도록 하였다.
