Actual State of Practical Use and Cooling Effect of Evaporative Cooling Systems (증발냉각시스템의 활용실태 및 냉방효과)

  • In order to take a good look at effectiveness of cooling of Fog system and Pad-Fan system, we chose 49 farm households which were installed evaporative cooling system and 2 farm households which were installed Pad-Fan system and Fog system for a test. We execute the test on 29 households out of 49.6 households, which were installed Pad-Fan system, were able to use; however, 6 household out of 9 which were installed Fog system couldn't use it. The main reason was the clogged on nozzle. The cooling efficiency on Pad-Fan system was 77.4%, but it was very poor on Fog system. Since there are many problems on Fog system, we need more research on size of fog, the location of nozzle, control of Fog systems.

Control of Time-varying and Nonstationary Stochastic Systems using a Neural Network Controller and Dynamic Bayesian Network Modeling (신경회로망 제어기와 동적 베이시안 네트워크를 이용한 시변 및 비정치 확률시스템의 제어)

  • Captions which appear in images include information that relates to the images. In order to obtain the information carried by captions, the methods for text extraction from images have been developed. However, most existing methods can be applied to captions with fixed height of stroke's width. We propose a method which can be applied to various caption size. Our method is based on connected components. And then the edge pixels are detected and grouped into connected components. We analyze the properties of connected components and build a neural network which discriminates connected components which include captions from ones which do not. Experimental data is collected from broadcast programs such as news, documentaries, and show programs which include various height caption. Experimental result is evaluated by two criteria : recall and precision. Recall is the ratio of the identified captions in all the captions in images and the precision is the ratio of the captions in the objects identified as captions. The experiment shows that the proposed method can efficiently extract captions various in size.

  • DMM은 방사광가속기의 백색광으로부터 단색광을 추출하기 위해 두 개의 다층 박막 (multilayer) 거울을 사용하는데, 첫 번째 거울은 Bragg 반사를 통해 분광을 하여 단색광을 생산하는 용도이고, 두 번째 거울은 이 단색광을 반사시켜 지면과 평행하게 출사되게 하기 위함이다. 일반적으로 사용되는 DCM (Double Crystal Monochromator)과의 차이점은, Bragg 반사를 위해 DCM에서는 결정을 사용하는 반면 DMM은 밀도차이가 많이나는 두 종류의 물질을 교대로 쌓아 올린 다층 박막을 사용한다는 것이다. 다층 박막의 주기가 곧 Bragg 반사에서의 d-spacing이 되며, X-선 분광의 목적으로 사용되는 d-spacing은 10-50 $\AA$ 사이이다. DCM이 0.01% 대의 우수한 에너지 분해능을 보이는데 비해, DMM은 1% 정도이다. 이 때문에 출사광의 밝기가 DCM에 비해 100배 밝은 특징이 있어서 에너지 분해능보다 광량이 더 중요한 응용에서 DMM이 사용된다. X-선 영상이나 방사선치료가 바로 이러한 응용에 해당한다. DMM은 포항가속기연구소와 (주) 벡트론에서 공동 설계하였으며, (주)벡트론에서 제작하였다. 그림 1에 DMM의 외형과 내부 구조를 나타내었다. Bragg 각의 조절 범위는 0.24-0.9도 이다. 입사광과 출사광의 수직 방향 offset을 10 mm로 유지하기 위해 두 번째 다층 박막이 수평방향으로 1,000 mm 가량 이동할 수 있어야 한다. 이를 위해 두 대의 고니오미터 stage를 사용하여 각각 첫 번째 및 두 번째 다층 박막의 위치와 방향을 제어한다. 첫 번째 다층 박막을 제어하는 고니오미터 stage는 하부가 전체 프레임에 고정되어 있고, 이 고니오미터의 회전축에서 Bragg 각을 조절한다. 두 번째 다층 박막을 제어하는 고니오미터 stage는 높이방향과 수평방향으로 이동이 가능하다. 다층 박막의 pitch는 고니오미터의 회전축에서 조절한다. 그리고 tilt stage를 사용하여 다층 박막의 roll을 조절한다.

  • The most important thing in vocational education and training is to enhance students' interest and understanding of the whole process of the production site. In this paper, we present a case on the implementation of tele-operation robot hand by learning factory based technology convergence education. It also suggests some points to be taken when applying the learning factory in the future curriculum. In order to implement the tele-operation robot hand, it is necessary to support the compulsory subjects of university level courses in domestic curriculum such as mechanic design, motor control, local communication implementation, sensing and feedback control. The educational research presented in this paper guides the students with the skills they need and understands the skills through self-study and practice, and implements the final products. This study will be useful as a base data when introducing the training process of training factory in the future.

  • It is important to control the beam pattern of an LED by the design of a reflector. The optimum conditions of the structure parameters for the 2 segment LED reflector are analyzed and compared as they vary depending on the various intensity distributions of light output on the LED chip surface. It is also interesting that combining various types of reflectors is possible to give several efficient beam patterns, such as the maximum intensity profile or relatively wide controllability of beam angle.

  • Thickness profiled blank is designed using optimization techniques for maximizing the bulged heights during the free bulging of Inconel 718. The thickness of the blank was described by the Bezier curve and the locations of the control points were used as the design variables for optimization. The maximization of the bulged heights within the limited strain range served as the objective function and constraints for optimization. The equivalent static loads method for non-linear static response structural optimization (ESLSO) was used and the result of the optimization revealed 22 increased bulged heights. A free bulging test using a blank with an optimized profile was conducted to verify the optimization process. The results were compared with those of numerical analysis in terms of bulged height and deformed shape.

  • For statistical modeling, the model parameters are usually estimated by maximizing a probability measure, such as the likelihood or the posterior. In contrast, a variational Bayesian method treats the parameters of a model as probability distributions and computes optimal distributions for them rather than values. It has been shown that this approach effectively avoids the overfitting problem, which is common with other parameter optimization methods. This paper applies a variational Bayesian technique to surface fitting for height field data. Then, we propose point cloud denoising based on the basic surface fitting technique. Validation experiments and further tests with scan data verify the robustness of the proposed method.

  • The Burj Dubai Project will be the tallest structure ever built by man; when completed the tower will be more than 700 meter tall and more than 160 floors. While the early integration of aerodynamic shaping and wind engineering considerations played a major role in the architectural massing and design of this multi-use/residential tower, where mitigating and taming the dynamic wind effects was one of the most important design criteria, the material selection for the structural systems of the tower was also a major consideration and required detailed evaluation of the material technologies and skilled labor available in the market at the time Concrete was selected for its strength, stiffness, damping, redundancy, moldability, free fireproofing, speed of construction, and cost effectiveness. In addition, the design challenges of using concrete for the design of the structural system components will be addressed. The focus on this paper will also be on the early planning of the concrete works of the Burj Dubai Project.

  • In this Paper, we developed a low power type LED security light using LED lighting that substitutes a 220[V] commercial power source for a solar cell module instead of a halogen or a sodium lamp. in addition, a PWM type drive control circuit is designed to minimize the heat generation problem and the drive current of the LED drive controller. in developed system, The light efficiency measurement value is 93.6[lm/W], and a high precision temperature sensor is used inside the controller to control the heat generation of the LED lamp. In order to eliminate the high heat generated from the LED lamp, it is designed to disperse quickly into the atmosphere through the metal insertion type heat sink. The heat control range of LED lighting was $50-55[^{\circ}C]$. The luminous flux and the lighting speed of the LED security lamp were 0.5[s], and the beam diffusion angle of the LED lamp was about $110[^{\circ}C]$ by the light distribution curve based on the height of 6[m].

Active control of pump noise of dishwashers using FxLMS algorithm (FxLMS 알고리듬 기법을 이용한 식기 세척기의 펌프 소음 능동 제어)

  • In this paper, active noise control was performed to reduce radiated noise in the low frequency band of dishwashers. First, through an analysis of the noise environment of the dishwasher, it was confirmed that the pump noise contributed the most to the radiated noise in the low frequency band, From the result of the noise environment analysis, the reference signal was selected to be the vibration signal of the pump body. The reference signal was obtained by using the accelerometer on the pump body, which can prevent acoustic feedback. The error signal sensor was selected as a microphone located at 1 m in front of the dishwasher and 0.5 m in height. And to design the controller, the error signal and the reference signal were measured at the operational rpms of the dishwasher at 2,500 rpm, 2,600 rpm and 2,800 rpm, and the secondary path transfer function was measured. The designed controller was mounted on Digital Signal Processor (DSP) equipment, and the control performance was verified experimentally. As a result of the measurement at the 3 operational rpms, the 7th multiple component of pump operating frequency decreased by 1.93 dB, 4.43 dB, 5.15 dB per rpm, and the 12th multiple component decreased by 6.67 dB, 2.34 dB, 4.28 dB per rpm. And overall Sound Pressure Level (SPL) decreased by 0.84 dB, 2.58 dB, 1.48 dB by rpm.
