  • This paper deals with how to operate the metadata for agricultural and livestock food product through the GS1 Source which is a GS1 standard metadata service. We defines GS1 standard identifiers for identifying food product and explain the guidelines for the methods how to document with GS1 standard schema and how to query the metadata in the storage of GS1 Source.

  • This research suggests the method of how to build agricultural and stockbreeding products recommender systems based on RFID technology for monitoring crop and livestock production, tracing production history as an application strategy. In the past the studies on enterprise applications have been barely implemented owing to the rack of business model and limitation of technical development. Currently however there have been enormous technological progress of RFID and agricultural and stockbreeding products retailing sites are increased. Therefore this paper suggests PDCF-ASP(Profile Decay based Collaborative Fltering for Agricultural and Stockbreeding Products) which is designed to reduce customers… search efforts in finding safety and fresh products on the internet shopping mall. For this, product decay function is defined to make sure whether the products are safety or not and to adopt a change in customer preferences. And for the implementation of PDCF-ASP, the system structure including functional agents is schematized.

  • 가상수(假想水, Virtual Water)란 일정량의 농산물, 축산물, 공산품과 같은 생산품 혹은 서비스 제공에 필요한 물의 양을 뜻하는 것으로 1990년대 초반 Tony Allan 교수가 처음 제시하였다. 본 연구는 Chapagain and Hoekstra(2004)이 제시한 농축산물 및 공산품의 단위 가상수량 산정방법을 분석 및 적용하여 1998년부터 2007년까지 우리나라의 가상수 수출입량을 산정하였다. 또한 가상수 수출입을 국가간 정량화하는 방법론으로 물발자국(Water Footprint)이론을 이용하였다. 그리고 2006년 우리나라 농작물 생산량에 단위 가상수량을 적용하여 수자원장기종합계획(건설교통부, 2006)의 농업용수 수요량과 비교함으로써 단위 가상수 사용의 적절성을 검토하였다. 연구결과 현재 우리나라는 연평균 320억$m^3$의 가상수를 농축산물 및 공산품의 무역을 통하여 순수입하고 있으며 그 양은 지속적으로 증가추세를 보이고 있다. 생산되는 농작물의 가상수량과 농업용수 수요량의 차이는 약 6억$m^3$으로서 전체 수요량이 약 160억$m^3$인 점을 감안한다면 상대적으로 근소한 차이로서 본 연구에서 적용한 단위 가상수량 산정방법이 타당함을 입증하였다.

  • IT 산업의 발전과 국가의 부 창출을 위하여 정부는 'IT 839 전략'에 따라 2010년까지 BcNㆍUSNㆍIPv6 3대 IT 통신 인프라의 전국 상용망 구축을 추진하고 있다. u-센서 네트워크(USN)는 모든 사물에 전자태그(RFID)를 부착, 인터넷에 연결하여 정보를 인식 및 관리하는 네트워크를 말한다. USN 서비스는 RFID, 텔레메틱스, 그리고 지능형홈 분야 등에서 유통, 물류를 비롯하여 교통, 농축산물관리, 조달, 환경, 의료 등 다양한 산업 전반에서 창출될 것으로 보인다 RFID 태그는 전자칩을 부차하고 무선통신 기술을 이용하여 리더와 통신한다 본 고에서는 정보보호 관점에서 RFID/USN네트워크가 인터넷 수준의 보안 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 어떠한 점이 고려되어야하는지를 정리하였다. 현재 사회적으로 이슈가 되고 있는 RFID 정보보호 문제는 주로 프라이버시 측면에서 논의되어 왔다. 그러나 RFID/USN은 대규모의 RFID 태그(사물)들이 단말이 되고, IPV6, BcN 망과 연동되며, 새로이 구축되어야하는 네트워크임에도 불구하고, 아직 네트워크/서비스 정보보호 관점에서 고려해야할 것들이 무엇인가에 대한 논의가 활발하지 못했던 것으로 보인다 이러한 논지를 가지고 본 고에서는 현재 논의되고 있는 RFID 정보보호 기술의 동향을 분석하고, 네트워크 정보보호 관점에서 RFID/USN 환경에 추가되어야 할 기술적 요구사항들을 정리해 보았다.

Evaluation of Virtual Water Calculation Method in Korea (우리나라 가상수량 산정방법의 적용성 평가)

  • Virtual water is defined as the volume of water to produce commodities and provide services, which has been developed by Tony Allan since the early 1990s. This research aims to evaluate a volume of virtual water trade in Korea from 1998 to 2007 by applying the evaluation method of unit virtual water volume to agricultural, live stock and industrial products, which is developed by Chapagain and Hoekstra (2004). Also, the concept of water footprint is deployed to quantify the volume of virtual water trade between countries. The study attempts to assess the appropriateness of the evaluation method of unit virtual water volume by employing the method to calculate the total amount of agricultural products in Korea and comparing this with the amount of agricultural water demand in the Korea Water Vision 2006. The research outcome shows that Korea has a net virtual water import of 32 billion $m^3$ on average in the form of agricultural, live stock and industrial commodities whose volume gradually increases. The gap between the volume of virtual water import of agricultural and live stock commodities and the total volume of agricultural water use reaches approximately 600 million $m^3$. This figure can be negligible considering the total volume of water demand in Korea, around 16 billion $m^3$, which demonstrates the validity of the evaluation method in terms of analyzing water balance.

A Study of the Unilateral Trade Policy of the United States: A Case Study of the Automobile Industry (미국의 일방주의 통상정책 사례에 대한 연구: 자동차 산업을 중심으로)

  • The United States is often perceived as a free-trading nation as it significantly contributed to the establishment of the GATT and WTO in the 20th century. With the inauguration of the Trump Administration in 2017, however, trading partners of the United States are faced with great concerns over the 'new' aggressive, protectionist and above all, unilateral trade threats posed by the United States under the name of 'America-First' trade policy. However, the recent unilateral trade actions by the United States are not new, but has historically and continuously been used to protect its key industries, like the automobile sector. This paper analyzes the historical cases of the unilateral trade policy of the United States in the automobile industry, targeting Korea and Japan in the 1980s, 1990s and 2010s. Then, we draw future implications for other key industries of the United States such as IT, intellectual property, services and agricultural sectors. This study evaluates whether such unilateral practices have brought successful and expected outcomes in favor of the United States.

Analysis on the National R&D Portfolio of Food Safety in Korea from 2008 to 2010 (최근 3년(2008-2010)간 식품안전 분야 국가연구개발사업 운영 현황 분석)

  • Food safety management should be based on scientific evidences. FAO and WHO presented risk analysis as one of four principles in food safety management. WTO also admits the self safety regulation only when it is made on the basis of risk assessment. Without scientific analysis, tracing and eliminating the cause of food poisoning is impossible. Research and development plays a key role to produce scientific evidences. The Korean government ran over 40 programs in 11 agencies from 2008 to 2010. However, there is no statistics on food safety R&D at present. In this research, food safety projects conducted from 2008 to 2010 are listed up by means of analysing National Science and Technology Information Service (NTIS). The analytical criteria are the name of programs, national standard classification of science and technology, and keywords. As result, Korea Food and Drug Administration, Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Rural Development Administration play major role in the food safety R&D. The portion of more than one year projects should rise up in order to achieve the data for risk assessment, which is strongly required to improve. Besides, the research should be deeper so as to publish more SCI papers. The R&D portfolio should be changed in direction to raise up the portion of biological hazards such as norovirus. In order to do so, a large number of food safety programs should be emerged. The categories of food safety management and the hygiene/quality management of the agricultural and livestock products in the national standard classification of science and technology should be emerged because they are set up reflecting agencies' interests in spite of few differences between them.
