In order to know the residual pattern of some pesticides and predict to the degradation period until below MRL, we experimented chlorothalonil, indoxacarb, lufenuron, metalaxyl and methomyl for Chinese cabbage. They were frequently detected pesticides in Chinese cabbage by NAQS (National Agricultural product Quality management Service) monitoring survey. In this experiment, we sprayed those pesticides 10days before harvest and analyzed 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10 day samples to establish logical equation and to calculate $DT_{50}0$. During the cultivating period, the residue amount of chlorothalonil was changed from $55.58\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ (0 day) to $20.08\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ (10 day), $DT_{50}$ was 7.45 days, indoxacarb was $7.85\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ (0 day) to $1.46\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ (10 day), and 4.2 days, lufenuron was $1.57\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ (0 day) to $0.49\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ (10 day), and 5.85 days, metalaxyl was $8.12\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ (0 day) to $0.10\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ (10 day), and 175 days, and methomyl was $11.51\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ (0 day) to $0.80\;mg\;kg^{-1}$ (10 day), and 2.42 days at single dose application, respectively. The $DT_{50}$ of double amount in those pesticides were 9.05 days in chlorothatonil, 7.09 days in indoxacarb, 8.82 days in lufenuron, 3.32 days in metalaxyl, and 2.72 days in methomyl, respectively.
The study was carried out to investigate the pesticide residual characteristics in peaches, pear and grape. Pesticide residue patterns were remarkably different because of major factors affecting the pesticide residue patterns such as ratios of surface to weight, surface matrices, cultivations, sizes, increase rate of weight, and varieties of fruits, etc.. Pesticide residue levels in grape appeared higher than those in peaches and pear, because the pesticide solution sprayed was infiltrated and accumulated between grape granules. The matrices composing of fruit surface and the ratios of surface area to weight on fruits seemed to playa key role for determining the pesticide residual characteristics in fruits.
DDVP, malathion and diazinon ECs which differ in chemical compositions and moisture contents were formulated with nine emulsifiers, three solvents(xylene, cyclohexanone and DMF) and epichlorohydrin. For the studies of decomposition characteristics, these technicals and ECs were subjected to the test under elevated temperature at $54^{\circ}C$ for 15 days and $38^{\circ}C$ for 90 days respectively. DDVP technical was rapidly decomposed in early stage of thermoaccelerated test at $54^{\circ}C$, but the decomposition rate slowed down with time. As for malathion and diazinon technicals, the longer they were incubated, the more decomposed. The decomposed AI in ECs increased with solvent polarity. The increment of moisture content in ECs accelerated the decomposition of AI, and that was remarkable especially in diazinon ECs. Addition of emulsifiers increased the moisture content to be accelerated the decomposition of AI, but the decomposition of AI was more affected by the kind of emulsifier than by the moisture content of emulsifier, Stabilizing effect by epichlorohydrin was distingished in malathion and diazinon ECs, but there was no effect in other solvent-based formulation except xylene.
This study was conducted to compare the effect of bagging technique on the presence of pesticide residues in various parts of grape fruit (whole fruit, pulp and peel). The tested pesticides were diluted at 2,000 times and sprayed three times onto the crops at an interval of seven days and then they were collected at 0, 1, 3, 5 and 7 days after final application. Later, bagging/non-bagging samples were pre-treated with fruit, pulp and peel samples, respectively. Thiacloprid and lufenuron were not detected in any of the bagging samples. The thiacloprid residues of non-bagging samples in whole, peel and pulp samples were 0.47-1.09, 0.18-0.33 and 1.24-1.67 mg/kg, respectively. The lufenuron residues of non-bagging samples in whole fruit, peel and pulp samples were 0.16-0.62, < LOD-0.08 and 0.85-1.48 mg/kg, respectively. The biological half-lives of thiacloprid and lufenuron in whole fruit, peel and pulp of non-bagging samples were 5.7, 15.1 and 7.8 days and 4.0, 9.4 and 2.6 days, respectively. While the unbagged samples showed a sequential decrease in pesticide residues, this study concludes that bagging would be an effective method to protect the presence of thiacloprid and lufenuron residues in grape fruits.
To confirm physico-chemical stability of formulated products, this study was conducted under different storage conditions; room temperature and accelerated temperature of $54^{\circ}C$. The tested pesticide formulations were dichlorvos 50% EC, acephate 50% WP, hymexazol 4% DP, thiram 80% WP and isoprothiolane 12% GR. The selected formulations were stored for 10 weeks and 5 years under the given temperature in maximum and contents of active ingredients were also analyzed by GLC or HPLC after each time of storage. The degradation rates of 5 active ingredients under the two conditions showed a similar trend except acephate. Acephate was rapidly decomposed at $54^{\circ}C$ but slowly decomposed at room temperature, and the degradation rate under the accelerated condition was 2.4 to 5-fold higher than that under the room temperature. Consequently, the stability test on active ingredients in pesticide formulations was able to recommend to be carried out under the accelerated condition except acephate. And the physical properties of all formulations tested under two storage conditions were good.
This study was carried out to establish rational methodologies for the use of pesticide formulations to be sprayed after water-dilution. Hardness and electric conductivity of six major river water and ground water sampled from 52 sites in major rice-growing areas across the country ranged from 5 to 324 ppm(av. 90 ppm) and from 0.038 to 1.078 dS/m(av. 0.265 dS/m), respectively, which are acceptable for diluent water of pesticides. The pH changes in pesticide spray solutions with time after preparation mainly depended on the pH of the water used for pesticide dilution. The surface tensions of pesticide spray solutions reduced slightly with time after preparation, irrespective of kinds of pesticide formulations. Suspensibility of WPs became worse with an increase in the hardness and salt concentrations of diluent water, even though the degree was negligible. Emulsion stability of ECs became worse with an increase in hardness and salt concentrations of diluent water. Degradation rates of the active ingredients of pesticide spray solutions 3 days after preparation were less than 5%, regardless of mixing or non-mixing of two or more pesticides. Consequently, the spray solutions of most pesticides were usable until two to three days after preparation unless physical properties deteriorated. The tank-mixing order of EC and WP formulations did not make any differences in all the physical properties of pesticide spray solutions. However, the proper order for the tank-mixing of compatible pesticides was WP, WG, SC, EC, and SL, because the order is easy to prepare the pesticide spray solutions. The efficacy of pesticide spray solutions on the respective target pathogens and insect pests of rice plants three days after preparation was recorded over 95% of that of 0 day, which was almost the same as that of the solutions applied punctually after preparation.

In this study, the residue patterns of flubendiamide and pyriofenone registered in the strawberry were investigated to predict pre-harvest residue limit (PHRL). The samples were harvested at 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10 days after treatment and the pesticide residues were analyzed by HPLC/UVD. The limit of quantification (LOQ) was $0.01mg\;kg^{-1}$ for flubendiamide and pyriofenone. The recovery levels of flubendiamide and pyriofenone were $90.9{\pm}2.2%$ and $81.9{\pm}0.8%$, $87.7{\pm}2.1%$ and $85.3{\pm}1.1%$ for spiked levels of 0.01 and $0.1mg\;kg^{-1}$, respectively. The values of biological half-lives for field 1 and field 2 were 8.1 and 7.2 days for flubendiamide, 7.0 and 6.9 days for pyriofenone. According to these results, we recommends the level of PHRL on strawberry for flubendiamide and pyriofenone as 1.87 and $3.76mg\;kg^{-1}$ at 10 days before harvest, respectively.
This experiment was conducted to elucidate the effects of fruit bagging on the amounts of pesticide residues on/in pears with two pesticides, chlorpyrifos 25% WP, and penconazole 5% WP, and two pear cultivars, Niitaka and Hwangeum-bae. Residues of chlorpyrifos and penconazole in bagged pears were only $0.4{\sim}27%$ of those in non-bagged one. Residues of both pesticides in bagged and non-bagged pears were steeply reduced in the field but slowly reduced during storage. Residues of chlorpyrifos were more in the peel than in the flesh, while penconazole in bagged pear was evenly distributed in the peel and flesh. Chlorpyrifos was evenly distributed in outer bag and inner bag irrespective of bag materials, while most of penconazole was found in outer bag rather than in inner bag. To produce safer pear from pesticide residues, removal of bag before storage is recommended.

The residue levels of flonicamid and its metabolites, 4-(trifluoromethyl)nicotinic acid (TFNA) and N-4-(trifluoromethyl)nicotinoyl glycine (TFNG) in sweer pepper were investigated to examine the residual characteristics of analytes for 87 days after pesticide application. The pesticide was applied once at recommended dosage and double dosage by foliar sprays and the samples of fruits and leaves of sweet pepper were collected for each treatment. The residues of flonicamid in all of fruits and leaves decreased gradually over time, while the residue levels of TFNG metabolite exhibited tendency that increased for long periods and thereafter decreased. Total flonicamid residual concentrations containing metabolites residues in fruit samples increased consistently until 30 days post-application and higher residue levels than residues at 1 day post-application were detected from 30 day to 87 day after treatment. The residue pattern observed in fruit could be explained by the movement of TFNG from leaves to fruits of plant. Such residual characteristic was similarly found in samples treated both recommended dosage and double dosage.
This study was performed to develop jumbo granules floated and spreaded on the water surface after application, having low production and formulation cost, and safe to environment for paddy herbicides and to establish the formulation recipe. The jumbo granules of azimsulfuron with molinate(0.075+7.5%) was formulated by KCl as water soluble carrier and paraffin oil as solvent to impose the floating and spreading force to granules. That showed 100% of total granules to be floated on and spreaded upto the water surface within 25 minutes after application. Change in carriers, surfactants and pH did not affected to improve the time-course degradation of azimsulfuron in jumbo granules, but salt formation of azimsulfuron added by 1.15M solution of NaOH a little. Addition of N-methyl acrylate and modification of formulation process affected decrease in degradation of azimsulfuron upto 1.2, 2.1, and 7.2% after 2, 6 and 12 weeks under storage at $40{\pm}2^{\circ}C$, respectively, which showed the establishment of formulation recipe of the jumbo granules.
