Suggestion of Deterioration Curve for New-type Coating on Atmospheric Environment by Acceleration Corrosion Test (부식촉진 실험을 통한 대기환경에서 신설 도장계의 노화곡선 제안)

  • In this study, to propose the deterioration curves of urethane, ceramic, polysiloxane and fluorocarbon coating for the steel bridge, an accelerated corrosion tests were carried out. The each coating system wes applied on the top of the specimens, and circular initial defects were introduced with different diameters with 0.5, 1.0, 3.0, 5.0 mm. An accelerated corrosion test condition was used to simulate severe corrosive environment depending on ISO 20340. The deterioration curve of each coating type was evaluated based on deteriorated area from the circular defects. In order to evaluate the coating service life of installed steel bridge using deterioration curve, the acceleration coefficient was calculated at correlation between ISO 20340 and corrosivity categories by ISO 9223 based on field corrosion rate. From test results, the propagation rate of coating deterioration area was different to diameter of circular defects. In case of urethane coating, the coating service lifes of 3% deterioration area was evaluated in 31.8, 15.8, 9.9 and 3.9 years with C2, C3, C4 and C5 category.

  • 연료전지에 출력 저주파 리플전류가 유입될 때, 연료전지 내부에 화학적 특성변화인 Flooding, Drying 및 CO-poisoning이 발생하며 이는 연료전지 노화에 따른 특성변화를 야기한다. 이는 연료전지 노화에 따른 특성분석 및 노화되지 않은 기존 연료전지 시스템 모델의 수정이 불가피함을 나타낸다. 따라서, 본 논문은 연료전지에 연결되는 부하의 출력 저주파 리플전류에 따른 연료전지의 노화에 따른 특성분석 및 차후 진행될 연료전지의 모델링 방향을 간단히 제시하였다. 연료전지의 등가회로 모델 기반 시 저주파 리플전류에 따른 전압-전류 곡선 및 전기화학적 실험결과로 얻어진 노화된 모델 파라미터 값을 연료전지 시스템에 적용하여 노화된 연료전지의 특성분석을 실시하였다. 또한, 노화 전후의 연료전지 등가회로 모델 차이를 간단히 언급하고 차후 진행될 모델링 방향을 제시하였다.

  • 본 논문은 노화로 인하여 감소하는 전기자동차용 배터리의 전류 용량을 실시간으로 추정하는 SOH (State-of-health) 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 노화에 따른 OCV (Open circuit voltage) 곡선의 변화 경향을 분석하고, 저주파 통과 필터를 이용하여 추정된 OCV를 기반으로 전류 용량 및 SOH를 산출한다. 알고리즘을 검증하기 위하여 전기자동차용 배터리를 이용한 실험 및 시뮬레이션을 진행한다.

Battery State of Charge Estimation Considering the Battery Aging (배터리의 노화 상태를 고려한 배터리 SOC 추정)

  • Proper operation of the battery powered systems depends on the accuracy of the battery SOC(State of Charge) estimation, therefore it is critical for those systems that SOC is accurately determined. The SOC of the battery is related to the battery aging and the SOC estimation methods without considering the aging of the battery are not accurate. In this paper, a new method that accurately estimate the SOC of the battery is proposed considering the aging of the battery. A mathematical model for the Battery SOC-OCV(Open Circuit Voltage) relationship is presented using Boltzmann equation and aging indicator is defined, and then the SOC is estimated combining the mathematical model and aging indicator. The proposed method takes the aging of the battery into consideration, which leads to an accurate estimation of the SOC. The simulations and experiments show the effectiveness of the proposed method for improving the accuracy of the SOC estimation.

  • 본 논문에서는 배터리의 노화에 따른 내부 저항 및 전압변동(Differential Voltage; DV)곡선 변화를 실시간으로 추정하는 SOH (State of Health) 알고리즘을 개발한다. 개발된 알고리즘은 정확한 내부 저항 추정을 위해 동작 및 측정 환경에 따른 고주파 통과 필터의 최적 설계 방안을 제안하며 동적 전류 특성을 고려한 DV곡선의 온라인 업데이트 로직을 이용한다. 알고리즘의 정확도는 단전지 시험 결과를 기반으로 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증한다.

Suppression Effect of Maltitol on Retrogradation of Korean Rice Cake (Karedduk) (Maltitol 첨가와 가래떡의 노화억제)

  • Effect of the addition of maltitol to Korean rice cake (Karedduk) on its retrogradation was examined. Degree of retrogradation was also examined in terms of recrystallinity of starch and color change with a differential scanning calorimeter. As a result, retrogradation was suppressed by the increasing addition of maltitol. In particular, enthalpy showed a tendency to decrease at $25^{\circ}C$ rather than at 4$^{\circ}C$ during 4 days. In the gelatinization properties using DSC, onset temperature (To) was shown to increase slightly according to storage time. Maximum peak temperature (Tp) was shown to decrease by the addition of maltitol during 4 days. Melting enthalpy was decreased at $25^{\circ}C$ and 4$^{\circ}C$ by the addition of maltitol. The analysis X-ray diffraction also revealed that retrogradation of the Korean rice cake was suppressed by the addition of maltitol because crystalline region did not appear. The addition of maltitol into the Korean rice cake was found to result in an increase of its qualify or color stability.

  • A study on the life-time expectation of a CR-modified NR rubber composite through the change of thermal degradation characteristics was performed using both isothermal thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and thermomechanical analysis (TMA). Master curves at reference temperature of $90^{\circ}C$ could be obtained with shift factor $a_T$, which was determined empirically using Time-Temperature Superposition Principle (TTSP). Activation energies could be calculated from the slope of Arrhenius plot of shift factor and showed similar values of $E_{a,TGA}$= 41.2 and $E_{a,TMA}$= 54.5 kJ/mol, respectively. It was considered from the results that chemical degradation resulting weight loss of the sample might be closely related to a physical degradation such as the dimensional change of the sample.

Effect of Saccharides on Texture and Retrogradation of Acorn Starch gels (도토리 전분 겔의 텍스쳐와 노화에 미치는 당류의 영향)

  • The mechanical and thermal properties of solutions of acorn starch were investigated, to determine the effect of sucrose on the retrogradation. The contents of moisture and amylose of purified acorn starch was 9.35, 27% respectively. From the moecular weight distribution, Mw and Mn of acorn starch were 1,220,432 and 137,201 relatively and the polydispersity of acorn starch was 8.8952. The creep compliance of acorn starch with and without sucrose were decreased with increasing sucrose concentration in the short term. The temperatures of DSC curve of 15% acorn starch solution containg sucrose shifted slightly to higher temperatures with increasing sucrose content. The enthalpy change associated with the gelatinization was increased with increasing sucrose content. After 7 days storage, the creep compliance of acorn starch gel with sucrose were shown higher than acorn starch gel. Regelatinization enthalpy of acorn starch/sucrose/water system was decreased with increasing sucrose content and increased with storage time. In addition, the characteristic temperatures such as onset temperature, peak temperature and conclusion temperature was increased by sucrose addition. Retrogradation ratio decreased with increasing sucrose content, thus sucrose inhibit retrogradation in the long term. Sucrose acts as an antistaling reagents and retatards the retrogradation.

Comparison of Enzyme Resistant Starches Formed during Heat-Moisture Treatment and Retrogradation of High Amylose Corn Starches (수분-열처리와 노화에 의해 고아밀로오스 옥수수전분으로부터 형성된 효소저항전분의 특성비교)

  • Thermal characteristics and granular morphology on enzyme-resistant starches (RS) formed during heat-moisture treatment (HMT) and retrogradation were investigated in high amylose corn starches, Hylon V and Hylon VII. With each treatment, both starches showed a similar trend in the increase of RS, but RS yield of Hylon VII is higher than that of Hylon V. Specially, RS was increased remarkably by HMT. It was more than doubled from 11.4% to 26.6% for Hylon V and from 15.9% to 32.8% for Hylon VII. A small increase of RS resulted from retrogradation. HMT on starch increased gelatinization temperature, decreased enthalpy. Retrograded starch exhibited small three endothermic transitions at $94^{\circ}C$, $110^{\circ}C$ and $140^{\circ}C$ in differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) thermogram due to the remained ungelatinized starch granules, dissociation of amylose-lipid complex and melting of recrystallized amylose, respectively. Enzyme-resistant starches isolated from native and heat-moisture treated starches showed a broad endothermic transition at higher temperature than native starch, while retrograded starch exhibited a very sharp peak at ${\sim}150^{\circ}C$ due to the melting of amylose crystallites. Under microscopy, starch granules with HMT was not changed, but retrograded starches showed the aggregates of starch granules because amylose leached out during gelatinization. Iodine stained RS clearly showed the differences in enzyme hydrolysis on the native, heat-moisture treated and retrograded starches.

Evaluation of the Aging Effects on the Performance of the Pyrotechnic Igniter (파이로 테크닉 점화기의 노화 성능 평가)

  • In order to evaluate the effects of aging on the ignition performance, pyrotechnic igniters were separated from twelve-year-old, fifteen-year-old, and sixteen-year-old live rocket motors. The characteristic values of the ignition material were measured, and the firing tests of the igniters were performed. The moisture content, the outer dimension, the crush strength, the thermal decomposition characteristics, and the heat of formation the B/$KNO_3$ ignition pellet were measured. The crush strength was increased and the heat of formation was reduced as aged, but no change was detected for other characteristic values. The burning test results of the igniter pellet in the closed bomb and the inert motor showed that the burning rate of the ignition pellet was increased by 10%, and the integration of pressure $P_t$ of the p-t curve was reduced by 15% for aged samples. It was inferred that the burning rate was increased as the crack was appeared in the pellet and $P_t$ could be proportionally decreased with the heat of explosion.
