In south korea, the elderly population has been continuously increasing, so blind spots in administrative welfare services for the elderly are expected to increase. therefore, this study aimed to analyze the types of blind spots in administrative welfare services for the elderly in gijang-gun, Busan, where the elderly population is increasing. using a network analysis, the demand and service supply ranges were derived. after that, in comparison to their sizes, the blind spots were divided into three types: i) blind spots in service supply, ii) blind spots in mobility constraint, and iii) dual blind spots. As a result, in gijang-gun, the blind spots in mobility constraint were 21.5%, the dual blind spots were 9.5%, and the blind spots in service supply were 3.2%. Based on these results, this study suggested policy directions for resolving the blind spots in administrative welfare services for the elderly by type.

This research aims to examine the spatial patterns of vacant housings and the factors determining housing vacancy in Daegu using individual-level building DB. The results of the spatial pattern analysis showed a donut shaped-spatial concentration of vacant housings in the central areas of the city. The results of logistic regression analysis revealed that not only individual building characteristics, such as building area, number of floors, and building age, but also socio-economic characteristics of community, such as urban redevelopment district, number of adjacent vacancies, recent population change, and ratio of elderly, are important factors affecting housing vacancies.

The main purpose of this paper is to analyse the determinant factors affecting the budget for welfare of the aged. This study employs the statistical data of fourteen different cities and counties of local government in Jeollabukdo. According to the analysis, in the county, the rate of the aged and populations of social-economic factors and the number of public officials of political-administrative factors turned out to be important influencing of budget for the aged welfare. However, incrementalism has no validity of statistics. Also, In the fiscal factors, estimated expenditures in per capita influenced a negative effect on the budget of the aged welfare. As the results of this research, the policy implications are suggested as follows. First, in order to reduce the gap of the aged welfare service between regions, the greater subsidy is provided by government and the budget of the aged welfare is enlarged positively. Second, as the considering regional characteristic, the higher ratio of the aged, the greater budget of the aged welfare is enlarged, especially in the county. Third, the budget of the aged welfare has to be regarded by the number of public officials.

This study aims to empirically verify the moderating effect of population drop on the relationship between demographic changes and crime decline in local cities facing population decline in Korea. The study employs changes in the population of young adults, men, elderly, foreign residents, and population movement as factors of demographic changes, including types of the city as a control variable in the research model. The rate of change in population drop is used as a moderator variable and the rate of change in crime decline as a dependent variable. Data are collected from 155 cities with declining populations from 2010 to 2022 through KOSIS, the National Statistics Portal, and information disclosure requests. Data collected are analyzed using moderated regression analysis. In the first and second stages of the analysis, they show that changes in the population of young adults, population movement, foreign people, population drop, and the type of city affect the change in crime. Moderated regression analysis shows that only the interaction terms among changes in the population of young adults, changes in population movement, and changes in the population of foreigners and the population drop affects change in crime significantly.

노인인구가 급속히 증가함에 따라 노인을 위만 제품의 개발에 있어서의 인간공학적 디자인 개념이 더욱 중요해지고 있다. 노인의 일상 생활 활동에 대한 기존 연구는 주로 Home Tasks나 ADL의 관점에서 이루어져 왔으나 이러한 연구들은 제품 개발을 위해 이루어진 것이 아니며 노화로 야기되는 인간 기능의 저하와 노인의 일상 생활 활동과의 관계에 대한 연구는 미흡하였다. 본 논문에서는 노인의 인간성능의 저하에 관한 선행연구와 노인에 관한 선행연구를 바탕으로, 노인의 일상생활의 활동 Item을 추출하였다. 한편 연구의 목적을 고려하여 적절한 인간 성능 항목으로 계층도를 구성하였고, 추출된 Item과 인간성능 계층도 간의 Matrix 분석을 통해서 노인의 일상생활 수행에 동윈되는 정도가 높은 인간성능을 분석 및 선별하였으며 선별된 인간성능을 토대로 노인은 활동 보조 장치의 설계 시 반영 할 인간성능 요소와 그 설계 방향을 제안하였다.

Out of the OECD countries, Korea is showing the fastest growth of elderly population. Taking into account the rate of increase of the elderly and average lifespan, we can deduct that the future society will be an elderly society . Therefore, the market in Korea targeted to this group will quickly increase into a large market. Leading nations already into the elderly society , have actively pursued studies into silver generation product design and compared to these countries, Korea is far behind them. There is an immediate need for a detailed overall study on the design of products used daily by the elderly, This study has based its focused on the elderly society and silver generation products and was accompanied by thorough interview research method through questionnaires. The result showed that the Korean elderly were very aware about silver generation industry. However, they Pointed out that there are many Problems regarding silver generation products. Therefore, a need for a new design reflecting more of the lifestyle of the elderly is required. Also, there is an immediate need for development of more comfortable products and a well-structured system that enables easy access to these products.

This study examines the determinants of emergency care utilization and equity of access to care in elderly Koreans. Based on the data from the 2014 Korea Health Panel Survey, descriptive and logistic regression analysis was performed. The sample for this study was 1,313 individuals who participated in interviews. Predisposing factors such as age, sex, and education were significant determinants of emergency care utilization. Differences in need do not fully account for the original differences observed between subgroups of older Koreans. Health status was important determinant of older Koreans using emergency care services. Spending medical expense did not ameliorate the subgroup differences in the use of emergency care services. Nonetheless, spending medical expense remains a particularly important predictor of emergency care utilization. Health care reforms in Korea should continue to concentrate on insuring effective universal emergency care, implying that all older Koreans with need receive effective coverage. Future study is also needed to understand the access barriers that may exist for the selected demographic subgroups, i.e., those over 75, women, less educated persons, and those with higher medical expense.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of self-esteem on the relationship between economic status and happiness among the elderly. The subjects of this study were 641 people over 65 years old around 4 metropolitan area. Structural Equation Modeling in AMOS 18.0 was adopted to examine measurement model and mediating effects of self-esteem by using Bootstrapping method. The results were as followings. First, subjects who had higher education, higher income, married, religion, higher marital satisfaction, no chronic disease, voluntary work participation showed more higher happiness. Second, the analysis resulted confined the full mediation effects of self-esteem in the relations between the economic status and happiness of the elderly. Based on these findings suggested that social work intervention service should be discussed to increase the level of self-esteem for the happiness among the elderly.

Globally, the elderly population is increasing, making the primary concern of modern society the healthy aging and welfare and medical facilities for the elderly. However, many seniors experience cognitive decline due to aging, making cognitive activities crucial for them. In this context, a study has developed a cognitive activity support system for the elderly using the metaverse. To achieve this, the characteristics and needs of the elderly were analyzed to design an interface in the metaverse that they can easily use. Additionally, the type and difficulty of cognitive activities were adjusted to engage seniors in a captivating manner. Experimental results showed that the proposed system effectively enhances the cognitive abilities of the elderly. Thus, the personalized metaverse-based cognitive activity support system proposed in this study can be a valuable tool for improving the cognitive abilities of the elderly.

Due to a modern medical technology developement and the stability of social welfare policy, the current population of old person in Korea reaches to 550 million with the increasing elderly population rate(11.8%). But the living standard of elderly people does not meet to their needs of convenience on the proportion of the percentage of elderly people. Accordingly, this study mainly focuses on the research to find various advanced IT technologies to make elderly people more convient to use. Advanced IT industry makes it possible the convinence of elderly people using NFC, Wi-Fi, cardiac measurement technology.
