Optimal Headways of Urban Bus Services, Reflecting Actual Cycle Time and Demand (운행시간 및 수요 기반 버스 최적배차간격 산정에 관한 연구)

  • This study attempts to construct a model of optimal headway, focusing on a practical applicability to bus transit operation. Examining the existing bus operation and scheduling plans imposed by Busan City, we found that the plans failed to reasonably take into account such realities as varying traffic and operational conditions. The model is thus developed to derive the hourly optimal headway by routes satisfying the real-world conditions: varying hourly demand and cycle time, applying the model to routes 10 and 27 as examples. To do so, we collect big-dataset generated by smart card system and BIMS (Bus Inforamtion Management System). It is expected that the results of this study wil be a basis for further refined research in this field as well as for preparing practical timetables for bus operation.

A Study on the Generation of Perspective Image View for Stereo Terrain Analysis for the Route Decision of Highway (고속도로 노선선정에서의 입체지형분석을 위한 영상조감도 생성에 관한 연구)

  • The technology for the three-dimensional terrain perspective view can be used as an important factor in planning and designing for the various construction projects. In this study, the stereo image perspective view has been generated for the multi-dimension analysis by combining useful digital map and remotely sensed satellite images. In the course of experimenting with the three-dimensional topography generated by the combination of the orthopimage by the precise GCP and DEM from the contour line, the technology has been developed to offer the multi-dimensional access to the potential construction sites from the nearby main roads. This stereo image bird's eye view has made it possible to make multi-dimensional analysis on the terrain, which provides real-time virtual access to the designated construction sites and will be a versatile application for development planning and construction projects.

Feasibility Study on Introduction of Piggy-back System by Applying Transport Database

  • In this study, The goal is to analyze the feasibility of introducing a Piggyback system that can reduce the time and cost incurred by transshipment work and improve the transportation speed when transporting complex cargo by rail. To this end, the feasibility analysis methodology is reviewed through domestic and international literature review. In order to quantitatively derive the feasibility analysis values, a transportation database was applied to develop a freight transport simulation model and a freight demand prediction model for major freight transport O-D routes with a transportation distance of 200 km or more. As a result of analyzing economic feasibility by setting the analysis period to 15 years on the premise that the Piggyback System will be introduced on major cargo transport O-D routes in 2025, the NPV value was positive and the B/C value was 1.18, indicating that the Piggyback system was economical. The proposed research method can be meaningful data for establishing transportation policies that can improve the competitiveness of railroad transportation.

Evaluation of Environmental Contribution to the Effect of Reducing Carbon Dioxide Emission in Metropolitan Urban Railways (수도권 도시철도의 이산화탄소 배출량 절감 효과에 대한 환경 기여도 분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to quantitatively identify the environmental contribution generated by urban rail users in the metropolitan area. Method: As for the analysis method, the mode choice and assignment of the traffic demand analysis were repeatedly performed on the assumption that each line was not opened for the metropolitan urban railway lines 1 to 9. After that, the environmental contribution according to changes in demand for the road was analyzed. Result: The total amount of carbon dioxide emissions and benefits were found to be the largest for subway line 1. However, when considering the number of stations and length, it was analyzed that the environmental contribution was the greatest in Metro Line 4. Conclusion: Measures to promote the use of public transportation are representative of environmental improvement policies, but there is a limit in that it is difficult for actual users/non-users to feel it. Therefore, it is judged that it is necessary to quantitatively present the effect in order to improve and spread awareness of the environment.

  • `Information measure model' and 'Information benefit model' for road plan are developed. In result of application to actual road project, 'Information measure model' showed same result with actual road plan, it can express qualitative element by 'Information' like safety, public discontent, etc. and 'Information benefit model' can evaluate present plan in the side of provider's and demader's 'benefit'.

  • Citizens want more accurate forecast information using Bus Information System. However, most bus information systems that use an average based short-term prediction algorithm include many errors because they do not consider the effects of the traffic flow, signal period, and halting time. In this paper, we try to improve the precision of forecast information by analyzing the influencing factors of the error, thereby making the convenience of the citizens. We analyzed the influence factors of the error using BIS data. It is shown in the analyzed data that the effects of the time characteristics and geographical conditions are mixed, and that effects on halting time and passes speed is different. Therefore, the halt time is constructed using Generalized Additive Model with explanatory variable such as hour, GPS coordinate and number of routes, and we used Hidden Markov Model to construct a pattern considering the influence of traffic flow on the unit section. As a result of the pattern construction, accurate real-time forecasting and long-term prediction of route travel time were possible. Finally, it is shown that this model is suitable for travel time prediction through statistical test between observed data and predicted data. As a result of this paper, we can provide more precise forecast information to the citizens, and we think that long-term forecasting can play an important role in decision making such as route scheduling.

  • 본 논문에서는 열차이동시 운행선구에 따른 운동에너지를 모델링하기 위한 중력 모델링에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 중력 모델링은 해당 노선에 투입될 열차의 물리적 특성 및 성능(제동)특성과 선로정보, 신호정보(최고운행속도) 등의 정보를 고려하여 열차의 이동을 물리적으로 모델링해야한다. 차량의 운동을 해석하기 위하여 차량은 하나의 질점으로 모델링하고, 그 질점은 한 방향으로만 직선 운동하는 자유도 모델이다. 차량의 견인력, 제동력, 운행저항력, 선로구배에 의한 중력 공헌력은 그 질점에 작용하는 힘으로 모델링 되어있다. 차량의 이동에 따른 모델링을 통해 산출된 열차 에너지는 고정폐색으로 운용되는 열차제어시스템의 폐색길이를 결정하는데 사용될 수 있다.

Airline In-flight Meal Demand Forecasting with Neural Networks and Time Series Models (인공신경망을 이용한 항공기 기내식 수요예측의 예측력 개선 방안에 관한 연구)

  • 현재의 항공사 기내식 수요예측 시스템으로는 항공기 운항의 지연이나 초과 주문으로 인한 손실 문제를 해결하기 힘든 것으로 알려져 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 연구에서는 항공기 기내식 시계열 자료만을 입력변수로 사용한 단순인공신경망모형(simple neural network model), 단순인공신경망모형에 전통적인 시계열 기법(본 연구에서는 지수 평활법)의 예측 결과를 입력변수로 추가한 혼합인공신경망모형(hybrid neural network model), 그리고 혼합인공신경 망 모형에 상관관계가 높은 다른 시계열 자료(본 논문에서는 유사 노선의 다른 항공기 기내식 시계열 자료)를 인공신경망의 입력변수로 추가시킨 하이퍼혼합인공신경망모형(hyper hybrid neural network model)을 새로운 항공기 기내식 수요예측 기법으로 제안하고, 이들 모형의 예측력을 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과 하이퍼혼합인공신경망 모형의 예측력이 가장 우수한 것으로 나타나, 인공신경 망을 기반으로 한 수요예측에 있어 상관관계가 높은 다른 시계열 자료를 입력변수로 추가함으로써 인공신경망모형의 예측력을 개선시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었다

  • 본 논문에서는 채널 결합 기법을 고려하여 DOCSIS 3.0 망에서 상향스트림 스케줄러를 설계하고 스케줄링 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 스케줄러는 Bonding Process Module, QoS Service Classifier, Upstream Scheduler, Framing Module 등으로 구성된다. 결합 채널에 대한 대역을 할당하기 위해 균등요구대역 할당알고리즘, 현재 요구대역할당을 고려한 요구대역 할당알고리즘, 이전 MAP의 대역 할당 정보를 고려한 요구대역 할당알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안한 스케줄러 및 스케줄링 알고리즘의 성능을 비교평가하기 위해 OPNET 기반의 DOCSIS 3.0 시뮬레이션 모델을 개발하고, 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 성능평가 결과 CM에서 큐잉 지연과 CMTS에서 데이터 수신량 관점에서 균등요구할당 알고리즘이 우수한 성능을 나타냄을 확인할 수 있었다.

An Economic Ship Routing System by a Path Search Algorithm based on Evolutionary Strategy (진화전략 기반 경로탐색 알고리즘을 활용한 선박경제운항시스템)

  • 선박경제운항이란 예보된 기상정보를 활용하여 연료소모량을 최소화하도록 선박을 운항하는 것으로서 최근 다양한 방법론이 연구되고 있다. 성공적인 경제운항시스템을 구현하기 위해서는 기상을 고려하여 지리적 운항경로를 바꾸거나 적절하게 엔진 출력을 조절하는 방법이 필요하다. 그러나 항해 시각에 따라 연료소모량이 변하는 동적 비용 문제임을 고려할 때 지리적 운항 경로의 결정은 최적의 해를 찾기가 어렵다. 이에 이 논문에서는 매우 많은 지리적 후보 경로들 중에서 우수한 품질의 해를 효과적으로 탐색하기 위한 진화전략 기반 경로탐색 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법을 5개 노선에 대해 실험한 결과 최단거리 운항 방법에 비해 운항소요시간은 거의 차이가 없으면서도 연료소모량을 평균 1.41%, 최대 1.45% 개선시킬 수 있었다.
