  • Today, the Internet of Things is used in many places, including homes, industrial sites, and hospitals, to give us convenience. Many services generate new value through real-time data collection, storage and analysis as devices are connected to the network. Many of these fields are creating services and applications that utilize sensors and communication functions within IoT devices. However, since everything can be hacked, it causes a huge privacy threat to users who provide data. For example, a variety of sensitive information, such as personal information, lifestyle patters and the existence of diseases, will be leaked if data generated by smarwatches are abused. Development of IoT must be accompanied by the development of security. Recently, Differential Privacy(DP) was adopted to privacy-preserving data processing. So we propose the method that can aggregate health data safely on smartwatch platform, based on DP.

  • Objectives: Tourette syndrome (TS) is a disease that occurs evenly in many social classes. Despite the long experience of drug treatment, the preference is low due to various side effects. The aim of this study was to discover herbal medicine resources through network pharmacology analysis predicted to be useful for Tourette syndrome. Methods: We used Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform (TCMSP) to identify herbal medicines that can be used for TS by using network pharmacology research methods and to predict the mechanism of action. After evaluating compounds of each identified herb, molecular target proteins and mechanisms of action were analyzed, focusing on compounds that are likely to exhibit clinical activity in consideration of the pharmacokinetic parameters of these individual compounds. Results: Fifty nine ingredients such as atropine, veraguensin, and nuciferin among the compounds contained in 48 types of medicinal herbs such as Daturae Flos (洋金花), Salviae Radix (丹参), and Nelumbinis Plumula (蓮子心) act on the D(2) dopamine receptor, which is a protein involved in the development of TS. It has been found that atropine, veraguensin, and nuciferin are highly likely to exhibit activity by acting on the G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway. Conclusions: It can be used in conjunction with non-invasive treatment means such as FCST Yinyang Balancing Appliance with herbal therapy to bring about a significant therapeutic effect, and it will be possible to develop a treatment that can replace drug therapy used in Western medicine.

  • In accordance with Article 33(8) of the Korean Medical Law, it is stated that a medical person cannot open or operate a medical institution by borrowing the name of another medical person. However, the publicity of medical care is threatened by the recent illegal network dental clinics. The purpose of this study is to investigate the actual condition of illegal network dentistry and to analyze the cases and to find out the reason why the prohibition of double opening & operating of medical institution. As a result, the illegal network dental clinics treated less health care insurance treatment such as dental caries and periodontal treatment than general dental hospitals. In contrast, the rate of implementation of illegal network dentistry was high in endodontics treatment and extraction, which could lead to uninsured treatments such as crowns and implants. As a result of Supreme Court precedent analysis, it is concluded that illegal act is not only the opening of a medical institution by borrowing the name of other medical personnel, but also the duplicated operation which has the authority to make decision about management matters of medical institutions. The results of the patient's case survey also showed that excessive dental treatment due to such as dental staff incentive system. In conclusion, the illegal network dental clinics not only threatens the oral health of the public, but also causes leakage of health insurance premiums. In other words, the ban on opening and operating the multiple medical institution should be strictly applied as a strong protection device for protecting the patient in dental case.

  • Objectives : The root of Salvia miltiorrhiza, known as 'Dansam (DS, 丹參)', is used for and treating cardiovascular diseases based on its efficacy of promoting blood circulation and breaking through a blood stasis. In this study, we would like to see if DS could be effectively used for stroke from the perspective of network pharmacology. Methods : The analysis was conducted using Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform (TCMSP) database to derive the main active compounds of DS and identify the mechanism of each compound acting on the human body. The networks between compounds, target protein and disease were expressed through Cytoscape. Protein-protein interaction (PPI) analysis was performed using STRING database. Results : Fifty two active compounds of DS were identified by screening the ingredients of DS through TCMSP. Based on the networks of these compounds with target protein and disease, it can be said that DS might be effective for preventing and treating stroke. PPI result showed that adrenergic receptor has many interactions among proteins, indicating its significance in stroke pathway. Conclusion : In this study, we derived target proteins and target diseases of DS that could be used in study of stroke. However, since it is uncertain if these targets can be controlled by DS extracts or not, we would like to confirm the results with further animal experiments.

  • Positron emission tomography (PET) images is affected by acquisition time, short acquisition times results in low gamma counts leading to degradation of image quality by statistical noise. Noise2Void(N2V) is self supervised denoising model that is convolutional neural network (CNN) based deep learning. The purpose of this study is to evaluate denoising performance of N2V for PET image with a short acquisition time. The phantom was scanned as a list mode for 10 min using Biograph mCT40 of PET/CT (Siemens Healthcare, Erlangen, Germany). We compared PET images using NEMA image-quality phantom for standard acquisition time (10 min), short acquisition time (2min) and simulated PET image (S2 min). To evaluate performance of N2V, the peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR), normalized root mean square error (NRMSE), structural similarity index (SSIM) and radio-activity recovery coefficient (RC) were used. The PSNR, NRMSE and SSIM for 2 min and S2 min PET images compared to 10min PET image were 30.983, 33.936, 9.954, 7.609 and 0.916, 0.934 respectively. The RC for spheres with S2 min PET image also met European Association of Nuclear Medicine Research Ltd. (EARL) FDG PET accreditation program. We confirmed generated S2 min PET image from N2V deep learning showed improvement results compared to 2 min PET image and The PET images on visual analysis were also comparable between 10 min and S2 min PET images. In conclusion, noisy PET image by means of short acquisition time using N2V denoising network model can be improved image quality without underestimation of radioactivity.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the knowledge structure of health information (HI) for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods: Keywords or meaningful morphemes from HI presented on five health-related websites (HRWs) of one national HI institute and four hospitals, as well as HI needs among patients presented in nine literature, were reviewed, refined, and analyzed using text network analysis and their co-occurrence matrix was generated. Two networks of 61 and 35 keywords, respectively, were analyzed for degree, closeness, and betweenness centrality, as well as betweenness community analysis. Results: The most common keywords pertaining to HI on HRWs were lung, inhaler, smoking, dyspnea, and infection, focusing COPD treatment. In contrast, HI needs among patients were lung, medication, support, symptom, and smoking cessation, expanding to disease management. Two common sub-topic groups in HI on HRWs were COPD overview and medication administration, whereas three common sub-topic groups in HI needs among patients in the literature were COPD overview, self-management, and emotional management. Conclusion: The knowledge structure of HI on HRWs is medically oriented, while patients need supportive information. Thus, the support system for self-management and emotional management on HRWs must be informed according to the structure of patients' needs for HI. Healthcare providers should consider presenting COPD patient-centered information on HRWs.

  • Objectives : Sagunja-Tang is a famous prescription used in Korean medicine for the purpose of promoting vital energy, and there are few studies using Sagunja-Tang on cerebrovascular diseases yet. As previous studies confirmed that Sagunja-tang is highly likely to be used effectively for stroke, this study was intended to predict the mechanism through which Sagunja-tang would act effectively on stroke. Methods : In this study, a network pharmacology analysis method was used, and oral bioavailability (OB), drug likeness (DL), Caco-2 and BBB permeability were utilized to select compounds with potential activity. For the values of each variable used in this study, OB ≥ 30%, DL ≥ 0.18, Caco-2 ≥ 0, and BBB ≥ 0.3 were applied. Using the above variables, the relations between target genes and diseases that are presumed to be involved in the selected bioavailable compounds were constructed in a network format, and proteins thought to play a major role were identified. Results : Among the compounds included in Sagunja-Tang, 26 bioavailable compounds were selected and it was confirmed that these compounds can be effectively used in cerebrovascular diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and stroke. These compounds are considered to act on proteins related in cell death and growth. The most important mechanism of action was predicted to be apoptosis, and the protein that is thought to play the most key action in this mechanism was caspase-3. Conclusions : In our future study, Sagunja-Tang will be used in an ischemic stroke mouse model, and the mechanism of action will be explored focusing on apoptosis and cell proliferation.

  • Objectives Maltreatment experiences can alter brain function related to emotion regulation, such as cognitive reappraisal. While dysregulation of emotion is an important risk factor to mental health problems in maltreated people, studies reported alterations in brain networks related to cognitive reappraisal are still lacking. Methods Twenty-seven healthy subjects were recruited in this study. The maltreatment experiences and positive reappraisal abilities were measured using the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire-Short Form and the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, respectively. Twelve subjects reported one or more moderate maltreatment experiences. Subjects were re-exposed to pictures after the cognitive reappraisal task using the International Affective Picture System during fMRI scan. Results The maltreatment group reported more negative feelings on negative pictures which tried cognitive reappraisal than the no-maltreatment group (p < 0.05). Activities in the right superior marginal gyrus and right middle temporal gyrus were higher in the maltreatment group (uncorrected p < 0.001, cluster size > 20). Conclusions We found that paradoxical activities in semantic networks were shown in the victims of maltreatment. Further study might be needed to clarify these aberrant functions in semantic networks related to maltreatment experiences.

  • In this paper, we propose a distributed model that recognize ADLs of human can be occurred in daily living places. We collect and analyze user's environmental, location or activity information by simple sensor attached home devices or utensils. Based on these information, we provide a lifecare services by inferring the user's life pattern and health condition. But in order to provide a lifecare services well-refined activity recognition data are required and without enough inferred information it is very hard to build an ADL activity recognition model for high-level situation awareness. The sequence that generated by sensors are very helpful to infer the activities so we utilize the sequence to analyze an activity pattern and propose a distributed linear time inference algorithm. This algorithm is appropriate to recognize activities in small area like home, office or hospital. For performance evaluation, we test with an open data from MIT Media Lab and the recognition result shows over 75% accuracy.

  • Although women's status in society have been improving, the existing space for women's main activities is still perceived as limited in scope. In this respect, this study analyzes the domestic literature on women's space and discusses the space for women with intent to gain some implications for further studies on space associated with women. Articles on women's space were sub-classified in light of keywords, years of publication, sites, purposes, methods and journal categories, followed by network and frequency analyses. In addition, focus group interview was conducted to explore a new orientation for further studies. The degree centrality was found high in such keywords as 'women's clinics', 'CPTED', 'women-friendly cities' and 'femininity'. In addition, there is a paucity of studies on women's space. Recent studies have diversified the scope of women's space. At the same time, macroscopic 'urban' approaches to women's space have lately been emerging. Finally, the focus group interview on women's space highlighted the needs to further studies about 'femininity, 'maternity', and 'gender equality' in space, and 'safe environment'.
