EMAT를 이용한 냉연강판의 소성이방성 측정 (Measurement of plastic anisotropy of cold rolled steel sheets using electromagnetic acoustic transducer)

  • Ultrasonic sensor for evaluating plastic anisotropy was developed. Magnetostrictive type EMAT is sensor to transmit and receive the Lamb wave using magnetostriction. It is suitable for on line processing because of transmitting and receiving ultrasonic without contact ODCs(orientation distribution coefficients), W $_{400}$. W $_{420}$. W $_{440}$. were respectively calculated using zeroth order Lamb wave velocities, the calculated ODCs was used for evaluating plastic anisotropy, the results was compared for mean values of destructive tests. Besides, the Lorentz EMAT for generating longitudinal wave and two shear waves simultaneously and the Lorentz type EMAT for measuring SH wave velocities were made. ODCs were calculated using the measured resonant modes and velocities. the results of two methods show possibility of an line processing measurement.

냉연강판의 표면결함 분류를 위한 현장 적용용 신경망 분류기 개발 (Development of a field-applicable Neural Network classifier for the classification of surface defects of cold rolled steel strips)

  • A new neural network classifier is proposed for the automatic real-time surface inspection of high-speed cold steel strips having 11 different types of defects. 46 geometrical and gray-level features are extracted for the defect classification. 3241 samples of Posco's Kwangyang steel factory are used for training and testing the neural network classifier. The developed classifier produces plausible 15% error rate which is much better than 20-30% error rate of human vision inspection adopted in most of domestic steel factories.

  • Laser welding of metals has been widely used to improve a wear resistance and a corrosion resistance of the industrial parts. The objective of this research works is to investigate the influence of the process parameters, such as the welding for metals with CW Nd:YAG lasers. The bead-on-plate welding tests are carried out for several combinations of the experimental conditions. In order to quantitatively examine the characteristics of the butt welding, the welding quality of the cut section, stain-stress behavior and the hardness of the welded part are investigated. From the results of the investigation, it has been shown that the optimal welding condition without defects in the vicinity of the welded area and with a good welding quality is 1325W of the laser power, and 1.4m/min of laser welding speed.

  • This study introduces the new way for the evaluation criteria of the Mash-Seam Tailored Blank weldability, The materials used are low carbon automotive galvanized and high strength steels and the evaluation of weldability are examined with various thickness. Welding tests were conducted for both similar thickness and dissimilar thickness cases. The criteria developed for optimum welding conditions were based on the relationship among results of die press forming test, weld transverse tensile test, Erichsen test and microhardness measurements. The application of the developed criteria(fracture ratio, strength ratio, etc) in obtaining optimum welding condition revealed that a weld which satisfied ant of the criteria did not fracture during actual die press test.

탠덤압연설비에서 테이퍼롤 채용에 의한 냉연강판 에지드롭 개선 (Improvement of Edge Drop in Cold Rolled Steel by Tapered Work Roll in Tandem Cold Mill)

  • In order to improve thickness profile of cold rolled steel strip, a computer simulation and actual cold rolling experiments on a 4-high tandem cold mill were carried out. In this study, tapered barrel end at top work roll and incurved barrel body at bottom work roll were examined for reducing edge drop and threading of stripe. Also, the most effective stand of tandem cold mill and magnitude of optimal taper crown at several stand were investigated under a typical rolling condition. From actual rolling experiments, it was verified that thickness deviation over strip width could be improved up to 1.06% by applying tapered and incurved work roll only at the second and up to 0.89% by applying them at both the second and the third stand.

자동차용 강판의 온도에 따른 기계적 특성

  • 겨울철 혹한지방에서의 차량운행 또는 여름철 혹서지방에서의 장시간 차량 운행시 차체를 구성하고 있는 강판에는 약 $-50^{\circ}C{\sim}150^{\circ}C$의 온도환경에 처하게 된다. 따라서 이러한 저온 고온 환경하에서 차체 충돌상품성 예측 및 충돌안전 설계를 위해 온도에 따른 차체 강판의 기계적 물성평가가 요구된다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 자동차용 충돌부재에 주로 쓰이는 HS440MPa, HS590MPa급 냉연 고장력 강판에 대해 $-60^{\circ}C{\sim}200^{\circ}C$의 온도범위로 저온 고온 인장시험을 수행 하였다. 각각의 인장시험 결과로부터 온도 별 항복강도, 인장강도, 연신율, 가공경화지수 등 기계적 물성 변화를 평가하였다. 저온 고온 인장시험은 ZWICK Z250 만능재료시험기를 사용하였고 KS5호 규격의 인장시편을 사용하였으며, 시편에 충분한 온도를 가하기 위하여 목표온도 도달 후 20분간 유지한 뒤 인장시험을 수행하였다. 인장시험결과 HS440MPa, HS590MPa급 두 강종 모두 온도가 낮아질수록 강도 및 연신율 등이 증가하였고, 온도가 증가할수록 강도 및 연신율 등 기계적 물성이 저하 되었다. 즉, 우리가 주로 평가해왔던 상온($25^{\circ}C$)에 비해 저온 고온 환경하에서는 강판의 기계적 물성 변화가 큰 것을 알 수 있다. 따라서 혹한 또는 혹서 지방 등 온도차이가 큰 운행환경하에서의 차체 강도 및 충돌안전성 확보를 위해 온도에 따른 강판의 정확한 물성평가가 필요하고 차체 설계시 온도에 따른 강도변화를 충분히 고려하여야 한다.

  • 아연(Zn)을 대체할 수 있는 물질계 인 알루미늄(Al)과 마그네슘(Mg)을 본 연구에서는 전자빔 증착을 이용하여 냉연 강판 위에 다층으로 코팅하고 열처리를 실시하여 전자현미경 및 글로우방전 분광기를 이용한 코팅층의 특성 분석 및 염수 분무시험을 통해 내식성을 평가하였다.

  • This paper describes a fast image labeling algorithm for the feature extraction of connected components. Labeling the connected regions of a digitized image is a fundamental computation in image analysis and machine vision, with a large number of application that can be found in various literature. This algorithm is designed for the surface defect inspection of Cold Mill Strip. The labeling algorithm permits to separate all of the connected components appearing on the Cold Mill Strip.
