Investigation on Chilling Procedure for LOX Supply System for Liquid Rocket Engine (액체로켓엔진 산화제 공급부 냉각과정 고찰)

  • For rockets using cryogenic liquid hydrogen or liquid oxygen, chilling is required to avoid cavitation and surge problems. Chilling is categorized by the initial chilling/filling stage and the low-temperature maintenance stage. In addition, to improve satellite insertion capability, a multi-ignition capability is required and accordingly chilling to prepare for the next ignition during low-gravity coasting is also required. This paper describes the overall aspects of filling and low temperature maintain marinating for the booster and the upper stage engine including chilling for multi-ignition.

  • 고분자 연료전지 (polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC)) 시스템은 연료전지 스택, 연료공급부, 공기공급부, 냉각부, 운전 제어부, 전자부하 및 데이터 획득부 그리고 인버터 등으로 구성된다. 이 가운데 가장 중요한 구성요소인 고분자 연료전지 스택의 성능은 전극과 전해질막 접합체의 성능뿐만 아니라 스택의 구조와 유로형상에도 크게 의존한다. 따라서 보다 고성능의 전해질막과 전극을 개발하고 소형화, 경량화가 가능한 스택의 구조와 유로형상을 찾는 것이 고분자 연료전지 스택의 개발에 있어 매우 중요하다.(중략)

  • A Kimchi pasteurizer consisting of preheating, holding, cooling and liquid separation sections was built with copper tubing coil and glasses. The liquid portion of a Chiness Cabbage Kimchi prepared with 3% NaCl solution was preheated and held for 3 minutes at sterilization temperature. Thereafter it was cooled momentarily and recombined with the untreated solid part of Kimchi At four different temperatures of $68^{\circ}$, $75^{\circ}$, $81^{\circ}$ and $85^{\circ}C$ Kimchi was sterilized and examined for the sterilization effects by measuring acid and pH changes of the Kimchi when stored at $15^{\circ}C$. The shelf-life of sterilized Kimchi was prolonged by two folds compared with the untreated one. When Kimchi was sterilized at different maturing stages. the less cured one prolonged its shelf-life more effectively.

  • The structural analysis and water pressure test of regenerative liquid rocket thrust chamber cooling channel specimens are performed at room temperature. material properties of copper alloy are obtained by uniaxial tension test at room temperature and used of elastic-plastic structural analysis. The plate type of cooling channel specimen are manufactured and performed water pressure test in order to confirm the analysis results. The differences between results of elastic-plastic analysis and that of water pressure test of cooling channel specimen are small and find that manufacturing process affect the structural stability of cooling channel very much because cooling channel thickness is small

  • The structural analysis and water pressure tests are performed for liquid rocket thrust chamber regenerative cooling channel specimens at room temperature condition. Material properties of copper alloy to be used in the elastic-plastic structural analysis are obtained by uniaxial tension test at room temperature. The plate-type cooling channel specimens are manufactured and performed water pressure test to verify the analysis results. The results of elastic-plastic structural analysis and water pressure test show resonable agreements though with minor differences and it is revealed that structural stability of regenerative cooling channel is highly affected by the manufacturing tolerances due to very thin cross-sectional thickness of the cooling channel.

  • 통신시스템의 고발열 전자부품 냉각을 위해 3종류의 써모싸이폰을 각각의 용도에 따라 개 발하였으며 그 각각의 설계변수에 대한 냉각특성을 실험적으로 구하였다. TS-I에서는 증발부 내부 에 금속스크린 메쉬형심지를 삽입함으로써 시간에 따른 온도 변화를 작게 하여 냉각성능 안정성을 확보하였고, TS-II에서는 9W/cm2의 높은 냉각성능을 가진 루프형 써모사이폰을 개발하였으며 TS-III에서는 작동유체의 종류, 파이프개수 와이어 삽입여부등 써모사이폰의 주요 설계변수에 따 른 냉각특성을 구하였다.

  • The cable cooling through installing the cooling pipe along the transmission cable becomes universal in foreign leading countries, especially in Japan, and, there are so many study results inside and outside of the country. However, the remarkable study result for cooling method of cable splice part is not achieved in spite of its importance. This paper is, therefore, carrys out detailed heat transfer analysis of existing 154kV underground cable-splice, depending on the insulation thickness variation when it is installed in manhole of tunnel whose temperature is maintained as $10^{\circ}C$ using refrigerator. This paper study also the cooling method of underground cable splice based on this result.

  • The combustion chamber and nozzle of a liquid rocket engine need thermal protection against the high temperature combustion gas. The nozzle extension of a high-altitude engine also has to be compatible with high temperature environment and several kinds of cooling methods including gas film cooling, ablative cooling and radiative cooling are used. Especially for an upper-stage nozzle extension having a large expansion ratio, the weight impact on the launcher performance is crucial and it necessitated the development of light-weight refractory material. The present survey on the nozzle extension materials employed in the liquid rocket engines of USA, Russia and European Union has revealed a trend that the heavier metals like stainless steels and titanium alloys are being substituted with light weight carbon fiber or ceramic matrix composite materials.

연소실 냉각을 위한 충돌제트/유출냉각기법에서의 열전달특성

  • 충돌/유출냉각은 연소실 벽면 등과 같이 열부하가 많이 걸리는 영역에서 고온의 연소가스로부터 표면을 보호하는 막냉각과 더불어 내부에 다공성 판을 설치하여 충돌제트에 의해 내부표면을 냉각시켜 가스터빈엔진의 고온요소의 냉각성능을 극대화시키는 방법 중의 하나이다. 이와 같은 냉각방법을 적용하면 벽면을 충돌제트에 의한 냉각과 함께 냉각유채를 막냉각에 활용함으로써 냉각효율을 극대화할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 국소적인 값들을 획득하기 용이한 물질전달실험방법의 하나인 나프탈렌 승화법을 이용하여 수직으로 분사되는 충돌제트에 의한 유출판 내면에서의 열/물질전달특성을 분사판(injection plate)과 유출판(effusion plate) 사이의 높이, 분사제트의 속도, 분사홀간의 배열을 변화시켜가며 유출판만이 있는 경우와 비교, 분석하였다. 분사홀과 유출홀의 관 사이의 간격은 0.33d에서 10d까지 변화시켜가며 그 효과를 관찰하였으며, 홀배열 효과를 보기 위하여 2가지 홀배열(staggered array, shifted array)에 대하여 실험하였다. 또한 분사제트의 속도효과를 고찰하기 위하여 분사제트의 Rc$_{d}$=5,000-12,000까지 변화시켜가며 실험을 수행하였다.

  • 최근 정부의 친환경 에너지 정책에 따라 고효율 가스 복합 발전이 기존의 석탄 화력 복합 발전을 대체하는 추세에 있다. 발전용 가스터빈의 효율 향상에 따라 터빈 입구온도는 현재 $1,600^{\circ}C$에 이르러 가스터빈의 냉각 부하가 크게 증가되어 고온에서의 가스터빈 냉각 기술이 더욱 중요하게 되었다. 이 글에서는 고온에서 가스터빈 공기냉각 기구를 개발하고 냉각 성능 평가에 필요한 고온 풍동 시험설비 및 측정기술을 간략하게 소개하고자 한다.
