Data Fragmentation Protection Technique for the Performance Enhancement of DB-Based Navigation Supporting Incremental Map Update (점증적인 맵 갱신을 지원하는 DB 기반 내비게이션의 성능 향상을 위한 데이터 단편화 방지 기법)

  • Most of the navigation in the vehicle has been developed based on a complex structure of PSF(Physical Storage Format) files, making it difficult to support incremental map updates. DB-based navigation is drawing attention as a next-generation navigation method to solve this problem. In DB-based navigation that supports incremental map updates, data fragmentation due to continuous map data updates can increase data access costs, which can lead to a decrease in search performance. In this paper, as one of the performance enhancement methods of DB-based navigation that supports incremental map updates, data fragmentation prevention techniques were presented and the performance improvement effect was verified through actual implementation.

The Study for Estimating Traffic Volumes on Urban Roads Using Spatial Statistic and Navigation Data (공간통계기법과 내비게이션 자료를 활용한 도시부 도로 교통량 추정연구)

  • Traffic volumes are fundamental data widely used in various traffic analysis, such as origin-and-destination establishment, total traveled kilometer distance calculation, congestion evaluation, and so on. The low number of links collecting the traffic-volume data in a large urban highway network has weakened the quality of the analyses in practice. This study proposes a method to estimate the traffic volume data on a highway link where no collection device is available by introducing a spatial statistic technique with (1) the traffic-volume data from TOPIS, and National Transport Information Center in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and (2) the navigation data from private navigation. Two different component models were prepared for the interrupted and the uninterrupted flows respectively, due to their different traffic-flow characteristics: the piecewise constant function and the regression kriging. The comparison of the traffic volumes estimated by the proposed method against the ones counted in the field showed that the level of error includes 6.26% in MAPE and 5,410 in RMSE, and thus the prediction error is 20.3% in MAPE.

A Point-Of-Interest Allomorph Database Construction System (POI 이형태 데이타베이스 구축 시스템)

  • People use various information for searching POI in the navigation system such as name, category, address, phone number. Most of users use name and category to search their POT. They don't know exact name in POI DB provided by Maker. They use abbreviated or generalized name as key word for searching POI. Because of these reasons, the hit ratio has been very low. In this paper, We suggest a extra DB_construction system for raising the hit ratio. It generates allomorphes DB link to the POI name in original DB. We classified the POI names in original DB into seven types of allomorph by analyzing the gathered patterns from the POI DB which has over 650,000 entries. For auto_generating the allomorphes, we made 577 rules based on the classified types. And we generated the allomorphes manually for the entries which are difficult to make the rule and has low frequency The generated allomorphes account for 35.8% of all original DB. The hit ratio is 89% under suggested system.

  • Cut Slope Management System(CSMS) is a systematic maintenance and management system designed to prevent the collapse of cut slopes located along national roads. In order to implement safe road operation system, KICT has started the inventory of cut slopes and developed a cut slope database since 2006. Cut slope database management system using GIS technology and navigation system was developed as a Information Technology application. Through the Cut Slope Navigation System(SLOPE-Navi.), the previously developed database was checked and verified. The converted cut slope inventory data and field investigation data of 28,707 cut slopes were loaded on the navigation map. We consider that the Cut Slope Navigation Management System can be useful as in-situ system, which can be systematic and effective DB management and operation to prevent cut slope collapses and establish a remedial countermeasure as mitigation concerning disasters.

  • e-내비게이션은 유엔 산하 국제해사기구(IMO)가 2020년 국제적인 시행을 목표로 도입한 차세대 해양안전 종합관리시스템이다. 각종 해상 운항정보를 디지털화 해 선박 운항자에게 실시간 맞춤형 정보를 제공해 준다. 육상에서 차량용 내비게이션처럼 선박을 운항하는 데 운항항로, 날씨, 돌발 변수 등을 제공하면서 선박 사고를 줄이는 역할을 한다. 크루즈와 같은 큰 선박부터 작은 낚시용 선박에서도 이용이 가능하다. 해수부는 2020년 이후 약 1,000조원의 시장이 열릴 것으로 내다보고 있다. 진입 장벽이 높은 해상장비 시장에 우리나라도 ICT 강점을 바탕으로 디지털로 변화하는 이 시장에 주도권을 잡기 위해 노력중이다. 이를 위하여 e-내비게이션 분야의 미국 특허정보를 확보하여 DB화 하고, DB에서 제공하는 특허적 행위(M&A, 특허 매입, 신규 R&D 등)를 중심으로 하는 미래기술예측 분석틀을 활용하여 유망기술을 발굴하고자 한다. 미래기술예측 분석틀은 미래기술예측의 3대 주제를 (1) 미래 기술의 대상과 범위, (2) 미래 기술의 주인과 수혜자, (3) 미래 기술로의 투자 시점으로 설정하고, 3~10년까지의 근미래(Near Future Only), 측정 및 검증 가능한 미래(Data Oriented), 미래를 만드는 힘 있는 주체에게만(Activity Oriented) 집중하여 분석을 시도하고자 한다.

Real-time Identification of Traffic Light and Road Sign for the Next Generation Video-Based Navigation System (차세대 실감 내비게이션을 위한 실시간 신호등 및 표지판 객체 인식)

  • A next generation video based car navigation is researched to supplement the drawbacks of existed 2D based navigation and to provide the various services for safety driving. The components of this navigation system could be a load object database, identification module for load lines, and crossroad identification module, etc. In this paper, we proposed the traffic lights and road sign recognition method which can be effectively exploited for crossroad recognition in video-based car navigation systems. The method uses object color information and other spatial features in the video image. The results show average 90% recognition rate from 30m to 60m distance for traffic lights and 97% at 40-90m distance for load sign. The algorithm also achieves 46msec/frame processing time which also indicates the appropriateness of the algorithm in real-time processing.

  • 도서관리시스템에 RFID를 활용하면 도서의 대출 반납이 자동화되는 등 많은 이점이 있다. 하지만 이를 이용하더라도 도서의 정확한 위치를 파악하는 것은 어려운데, 본 연구팀은 R-LIM2의 개발을 통해 도서의 위치파악 기능을 제공한 바 있다. 본 논문에서는 색인된 도서의 위치까지 안내하여 주는 내비게이션 모듈과, 도서위치를 담고 있는 DB를 보다 손쉽게 구축할 수 있는 모듈을 개발하여 기존 R-LIM2 시스템의 기능을 향상시키고자 하였다.

Searching a Navigation Path to Avoid Danger Area for Safe Driving (안전운전을 위해 위험지역을 회피하는 내비게이션 경로탐색)

  • The primary function of navigation system is to provide route search and road guidance for safe driving for drivers. However, the existing route search system provides a simple service that looks up the shortest route using a safe driving DB without considering different road characteristics for the safety of the drivers. In order to maintain the safe driving, rather than searching the shortest path, a navigation system, in which the danger areas and/or the dangerous time zones have been considered, is required. Therefore, in this paper we propose a strategy of searching a navigation path to avoid danger areas for safe driving by using the A* algorithm. In the strategy, when evaluating the path-specific fitness of the navigation nodes, different heuristic weights were assigned to different types of risk areas. In particular, we considered three kinds of danger areas, such as accident-prone sections where accidents occur frequently, school zones, and intersection regions, as well as the time slots when the probability of danger is high. From computer simulation, the results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can provide the way to avoid danger areas on the route searching and confirm the possibility of providing the actual service.

  • 최근 GPS가 기본 탑재된 스마트폰이 활성화된 이후 대량의 GPS 궤적 데이터를 전자지도에 매칭하여 분석하는 요구가 대두되고 있다. 그러나 기존에 연구된 맵매칭 기법은 주로 내비게이션용 알고리즘으로 대량의 GPS궤적을 서버에서 분석하기에는 속도 및 시스템 성능의 이슈가 있다. 본 연구는 대표적인 분산 NoSQL DB인 하듐 에코시스템의 HBase를 이용한 맵매칭 시스템에 대한 연구이다. 맵매칭을 위한 전자지도를 HBase탑재하기 위한 테이블 사양을 정의하였고, HBase와 연동하여 분석하는 맵매칭 알고리즘을 제시하고 Java로 구현하여 분석하였다. 이를 통해 대량의 GPS궤적을 NoSQL 기반 방법론을 통하여 효율적으로 빅데이터를 분석하였다.

A Study on Development of the GPIR system Receiver Using G-Files (G-File을 이용한 GPIR 시스템 수신기 개발)

  • GPIR(GPS Position Information Revision) system is a new concept of GPS system which utilizes database containing the location of taking a picture by the existing GPS, an angle between a camera and a subject and the location information of buildings and minimizes the GPS's own margin of error and there by provides the services, such as location-guiding via GPS and way-guiding via navigation in an exact and precision way more than before. GPIR system comprehends the location of taking photos via GPS information saved in G-files, searches database in the direction of taking a photo at a photo-taking position via location information and the photo-taking directional angle. And GPIR system corrects the GPS information searched to the location of a subject, again saves such information in a G-file and is ready for receiving more detailed location of the subject. This study explores into the design and development of a receiver which a GPIR user is able to utilize its system as well as the design of the receiver's prototypes.
