Ice Formation on the Outer Surface of a Vertical Tube with Inside Refrigerant Boiling (관 내부 냉매비등이 있는 수직관 외부 얼음 형성 연구)

  • An ice-making model has been developed and analyzed in this study. The effects of the following on the ice formation on the outer surface of a tube in which a refrigerant flows and boils are numerically investigated: thermal resistance of the refrigerant and thermal resistance of the ice formed on the outer surface of the tube. The ice thickness and related variables are analyzed in the case of the refrigerants R22 and R134a by using the expressions for phase-change heat transfer and boiling heat transfer coefficient. Vapor qualities of the refrigerants range from 0 to 0.8. As a result, up to the first 30 min, the internal convection resistance is higher than the thermal resistance of the ice on the external surface of the tube. However, after about 30 min, the thermal resistance of the ice increases remarkably due to the increase in the ice thickness. Thus, the heat flux to the refrigerant decreases, and further, the refrigerant quality and the boiling heat transfer coefficient also decrease. As the heat transfer coefficient of R22 is higher than that of R134a, the mass of the ice formed when R22 is used is higher than that formed when R134a is used.

  • Fiber arrangement was important for fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites using injection fabrication. In this work, fiber arrangement in CF/PP was investigated to use electrical resistance (ER) method during injection times. There were 3 types of injection products of CF/PP with different ER change ratio by fiber arrangement. High ER change ratio case of injection CF/PP products had better increased tensile strength. This reason was due to the fiber arrangement of CF/PP by injection. Fractured surface and contact angle of CF/PP products were used to evaluate for injection product quality. Uniform fiber arrangement of CF/PP by injection type exhibited the uniform heat condition of melted CF/PP. Steady thermal transfer effect occurred from melted CF/PP to steel injection mold. Steady thermal transfer effect of CF/PP was transmitted to high ER change ratio of mold. Ultimately, good condition CF/PP product by injection molding method could be predicted by using ER method.

  • Measurement of the ferroelectric polarization hysteresis curve is an important means of overall evaluation and interpretation of the ferroelectric structure and dielectric properties. If a resistive component is included in the ferroelectric sample, an error is included in the measured value of the spontaneous polarization. When configuring the electrical circuit to measure the polarization, by properly utilizing the external resistance corresponding to the resistive component included in the sample, the error due to the resistive loss of the sample was excluded and the size of the ferroelectric polarization induced inside could be accurately measured. It is expected that the displacement and dielectric characteristics of ions inside the ferroelectric can be more accurately evaluated through the evaluation of such an accurate polarization hysteresis curve.

  • Electricity can be directly generated from organic matter even wastewaters using a microbial fuel cell. To achieve high power in MFCs, finding factors decreasing activation and Ohmic losses is very important. In this study we determined activation loss at the anode and cathode and Ohmic loss using the current interruption technique in a H-type MFC. Activation loss at the cathode was four times higher that that of anode activation loss even if pt-coated carbon (0.5 $mg/cm^2$;10%Pt) was used as the cathode. Ohmic loss determined using current interruption technique (1146 ${\Omega}$) was almost same as the internal resistance (1167 ${\Omega}$) measured using AC impedance. The sum of activation losses at the anode and cathode was the same as the value of activation loss of the cell.

  • The ouput power of wave energy system in buoy is determined according to the inner diameter of oscillating water column and flow resistance. The increase of adhered shellfish inside the water column leads to decrease the inner diameter of wave energy converter. Influx loss of seawater reduces the efficiency of output power in the wave generation system. In this paper, the test result of AFS characteristic is described for preventing the deposition with shellfish and etc. The current of anode is controlled by buck converter, and the control algorithm developed for AFS in buoy. The experimental results is shown excellent preventing capapbility of AFS in buoy.

  • Batteries are being used in ESS, electric vehicles and uninterruptible power backup systems. Lead-acid batteries are the most used batteries for high capacity power back up equipment due to their high reliability and low price advantages. It is very important to estimate the chargeable capacity(SoH), and many algorithms were proposed to estimate the internal resistance of the battery. In this paper, the Battery Monitoring System(BMS) for high capacity uninterruptible power supply for IDC is proposed. A simple algorithm for estimating internal resistance was proposed. An computational block diagram of the proposed signal processing algorithm and BMS system configuration of CPU and analog circuit were shown. The proposed method was proved useful by presenting data examples of application to actual IDC sites.

  • In this experimental, water-repellent powder, which is a metal salt-based inorganic substance, and natural zeolite powder, which is a pozzolan-based material, were mixed into cement mortar, and their physical properties and resistance to moisture were confirmed. It was confirmed that the test specimen using natural zeolite at the same time had excellent resistance in the water permeation test and the chloride penetration test as compared with the test specimen in which the inorganic metal salt-based water-repellent powder was mixed alone. When a metal salt-based water-repellent powder is used, it cannot be uniformly dispersed inside water due to its insoluble property, and is limited to the surface. When used at the same time as natural zeolite, the setting time at the initial stage of hydration is fast due to the pozzolan reaction, and the water-repellent powder adheres to the porous of the natural zeolite and is evenly distributed inside the test specimen to generate some water resistance.

  • The aim of this study is to survey the effects of laying drainage layer in sandy beach on beach stabilization. At first, the numerical model developed by Hur and Lee (2007), which is able to consider the flow through a porous medium with inertia, laminar and turbulent resistance terms, i.e. simulate directly WAve Structure Seabed/Sandy beach interaction and can determine the eddy viscosity with LES turbulent model in 3-D wave field (LES-WASS-3D), is validated by comparing with existing experimental data. And then, numerical simulation is carried out to examine the characteristics of wave-sandy beach interaction for a beach with/without drainage layer. From the numerical results, it is shown that mean ground-water level around a foreshore decreases and offshore-ward flow over a seabed reduces in case of a beach with drainage layer. Moreover, the effects of cross profile of drainage layer and incident wave condition on mean ground-water level around a foreshore are also discussed as well the distribution of wave setup around the foreshore.

  • 피접지체의 접지는 전력설비의 절연파괴,낙뢰 등으로 전압이 침입할 경우 접지전극의 접지저항이 높으면 접지전극으로 유입되는 전류와 접지저항의 곱에 해당하는 접지전극의 전위가 상승하게 되므로 설비의 파손 인축의 피해 등이 발생 할 수 있다. 따라서 접지저항은 낮은 값으로 유지하는것이 필요하고 정기적으로 측정하여 관리하도록 규정하고 있다. 대표적인 접지저항측정방법으로는 3전극법(Fall of potential method)과 Hook-on 측정법이 있다. 그러나 3전극법은 측정하고자 하는 접지전극으로부터 일정한 거리에 전류를 흘려주고 이때 대지 전위를 측정 할 수 있는 2개의 보조전극 설치가 필수적이나 접지극과 접지선의 단자와는 설치 위치가 다르므로 접지전극의 설치점을 확인하기 곤란하고 건물내부, 지하철, 터널 등에는 보조전극의 설치가 거의 불가능하므로 처음 설치한 접지극의 접지저항측정관리에 어려움이 크다. 또한 Hook-on 측정법은 다중 접지 계통에 사용하는 방법으로 접지극이 수십 또는 수백개를 병렬로 연결한 경우 측정하고저 하는 접지그의 접지저항값에 비해 나머지 접지전극 전체의 합성저항이 무시할 수 있을 만큼 적은 경우에만 측정할 수 있으므로 건물이나 변전실 등 수개의 접지극이 설치된 경우는 사용할 수 없다. 본 연구는 보조전극을 설치하지 않고 측정하고자하는 접지전극 상호간의 전류분배 비율을 저항의 역수 비율로 하여 각각의 접지 전극의 접지저항값을 운전 중인 상태에서 간단하고 정확하게 측정할 수 있는 새로운 접지저항 측정 방법에 관한 연구이다.
