The Effect of Sampling Frequency and Pulse Bandwidth on Estimating Mean Frequencies in an Ultrasonic Doppler System using the Second-Order Sampling (2차 샘플링을 이용한 초음파 도플러 시스템에서 샘플링 주파수 펄스 대역폭이 평균 주파수 측정에 미치는 영향)

  • We analyze the effect of second-order sampling on estimating the mean frequency of the Doppler signal. In order to reduce the sampling frequency of analogue-to-digital converter, it is possible to obtain the Doppler signal by sampling the radio frequency echo signal with the low frequence of $4f_0$/5 or $4f_0$/9 instead of $4f_0$, where $f_0$ is the center frequency of the transmitted signal. The computer simulation and experiments show that if the narrowband signal is transmitted as is usual in the Doppler system, the error of the mean frequency estimates due to the low sampling frequency is negligible.

  • At the case of peak threshold algorithm, 3-axes data should sample step data over 20 Hz to get sufficient accuracy. But most of the digital sensors like 3-axes accelerometer have very low sampling rate caused by low data communication speed on limited SPI or $I^2C$ bandwidth of the low-cost MPU for ubiquitous devices. If the data transfer rate of the 3-axes accelerometer is getting slow, the sampling rate also slows down and it finally degrades the data accuracy. In this study, we proved there is a distinct functional relation between the sampling rate and threshold on the peak threshold step detection algorithm under the 20Hz frequency, and made a threshold function through the experiments. As a result of experiments, when we apply threshold value from the threshold function instead of fixed threshold value, the step detection error rate can be lessen about 1.2% or under. Therefore, we can suggest a peak threshold based new step detection algorithm with threshold function and it can enhance the accuracy of step detection and step count. This algorithm not only can be applied on a digital step counter design, but also can be adopted any other low-cost ubiquitous sensor devices subjected on low sampling rate.

  • 본 논문에서는 Active Power Filter (APF)에서 고조파 전류 보상을 위해 널리 사용되는 Repetitive 제어기의 구현방식을 비교한다. 샘플링 주파수가 높을수록 고조파 보상능력이 증가되는데 기존 Repetitive 제어 방식을 디지털 Canonical 형태로 표현하게 되면 낮은 샘플링 주파수를 가지는 시스템에서는 문제가 없으나 샘플링 주파수가 높은 경우에는 계산시간이 줄어들어 제어기가 정상동작을 하지 않게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 높은 샘플링 주파수에서도 제어기 동작이 가능한 디지털 Repetitive 제어기 구현에 대해 제안하고 5kW Active Power Filter 시제품을 통해 제안한 방식의 우수성을 검증하였다.

  • This paper proposes, based on a bandpass sampling theory, a novel method to find valid sampling frequency range and minimum sampling rate with low computational complexity for downconversion of multiple bandpass radio frequency (RF) signals. Guard-bands or spacing between adjacent downconverted signal spectrums are also taken into consideration in determining sampling frequency for practical implementation. Moreover, we verify through comparison with other method that the proposed method has more advantageous properties.

  • In this paper, we propose and evaluate joint carrier and sampling frequency offset estimation schemes based on the channel estimation sequences in PLCP (Physical Layer Convergence Procedure) preamble for the proper and effcient synchronization of the MB-OFDM WB (Multi-Band Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Ultra Wide Band) systems which have recently drawn explosive attention for future W-PAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) applications. In the joint estimation schemes, we first estimate the sampling frequency offset, and then estimate the carrier frequency offset using the estimated sampling frequency offset. Moreover, to improve the reliability of the estimated offset values, each process uses a combination scheme based on weighting factors. Simulation results using IEEE 802.15 Task Group 3a UWB channel models reveal that the estimation scheme using the simple weighting factors based on easily-measurable received signal power of each sub-channel shows favorably comparable performance to the ideal scheme using the weighting factors based on the perfectly-estimated frequency response of the channel.

  • 센서를 사용한 구조물의 진동측정 시 여러 문제로 인해 사용의 제약을 받아왔다. 이를 극복 하고자 최근 카메라를 이용한 진동 측정 기술이 연구되고 있지만 보통 산업용 카메라의 낮은 샘플링 주파수로 인해 구조물의 진동 측정에 한계를 보였다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 라인 스캔 카메라의 높은 샘플링 주파수를 이용한 진동 측정 기술을 제안하고 실험을 통하여 성능검증을 수행하였다.

  • Bandpass sampling technique has an advantage that it uses lower sampling frequency than Nyquist criterion. But special care is required in choosing sampling frequency to avoid self-image overlapping in the first Nyquist region. Recently, the second-order BPS techniques which can suppress possible self-image by using an additional ADC and by employing digital signal processing have been proposed. This paper addresses a complex BPS based SDR front-end. Unlike general second-order BPS, it needs simple FIR filter to compensate delay in the second ADC. We show a method to find proper sampling frequencies to down convert RF signals selected by tunable RF filter operating in arbitrary frequency range.

  • This paper proposes, based on a bandpass sampling theory, a novel method to find valid sampling frequency range and minimum sampling rate with low computational complexity for downconversion of N bandpass radio frequency(RF) signals, under application of all possible signal placements(full permutations) in a IF stage. Additionally, we have developed a complexity-reducing method to obtaine the opttimal and minimal sampling rate for supporting the user-wanted guard-band or spacing between adjacent downconverted signal spectrums. Moreover, we have verified through comparisons with other methods that the proposed methods have more advantageous properties.

  • 다수의 신호를 동시에 사용하는 경우에 나타나는 광대역 신호나 센서의 수와 형성하고자 하는 빔의 수가 많은 경우를 다루기 위해서는 주파수 영역 기법이 필요하다. FFT를 사용하는 낮은 샘플링 주파수에서도 시간 영역에서의 보간 방법보다 빠르게 정확한 시간 지연을 줄 수 있어 코히어런트 신호처리가 가능하다. 또한 특정 센서가 불량인 경우 보정이 상대적으로 용이하다는 장점을 가진다. 여러 가지 주파수 영역 빔형성 기법 중 계산량과 저장 용량면으로 효율적인 방법은 CZT와 FIR interpolation 방법이다. 또한, 공액 빔을 형성할 경우에는 Goertzel의 알고리듬을 이용하는 방법도 효율적이다.

  • 본 논문은 LCL 필터를 사용하는 계통연계형 인버터의 안정적인 전류제어를 위한 공진주파수와 샘플링주파수의 관계 분석을 통해 주파수 및 이산시간영역에서 전류제어 안정도를 해석, 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통해 검증하였다. 능동댐핑을 포함하지 않는 계통전류 제어의 경우, 공진주파수가 샘플링주파수의 1/6이 되는 $f_{base}$보다 높은 영역에 위치하면 안정, 낮은 영역에 위치하면 불안정한 특성을 분석하였고, 공진주파수 변화에 따른 전류제어루프의 안정도 해석을 기반으로 7kW 계통연계형 인버터 Psim 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통해 동일한 결과를 도출함으로써 주파수간의 관계 분석 및 안정도 해석의 타당성을 검증하였다.
