A Review of the Games Phalonidia (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae) in Korea (한국산 Phalonidia속 (나비목, 잎말이나방과)의 분류학적 정리)

  • Among 15 recognized species of the genus Phalonidia from Korea, following 9 species are reported for the first time from Korea: Phalonidia aliena Kuznetsov, P. lydiae Filipijev, P. scabra Liu et Ge, P. zygota Razowski, P. alismana (ragonot), P. luridana (Gregson), P. permixtana ([Denis et Schiffemuller]), P. rubricana (Peyerimhoff), and P. silvestris Kuznetsov.

  • During 1999~2000 expedition to Mt. Changbai-san in China, twenty species of Gelechiidae were recognized. Most of the species, except Anacampsis popullela (Clerk), are known for the first time from Mt. Changbai-san, and nine species are newly known from China. Scrobipalpa atriplicella (Fisher and Roslerstamm) and Anarsia lineatella (Zeller) are unknown species from the Korean Peninsula. A new combination, Carpatolechia dehania (Park, 1993), comb. nov. is given.

  • A total of 156 species of Pyralidae and 6 species of Thyrididae were recogmzed from the collection of the North Korean materials preserved in Hungarian Natural History Museum. A Among them, 23 species of Pyralidae are reported for the first time from Korean peninsula, a and 8 unnamed species are also included.

  • Genus Origo Omelko is synonymied as a junior synonym of Parastenolechia Kanazawa and the subspecies umbrosa Omelko as a junior synonym of argobathra Megrick. Laris superva Omelko and Telphusa clausterifera Meyrick are removed to the genus Parastenolechia. Among the 5 species redescribed in this article, 4 species are reported for the time from Korea.

  • Coleophora obducta Meyrick, which has been excluded in the list of Korean Coleophoridae is discovered for the first time from Korea based on the specimens preserved in the Center for Insect Systematics and Forestry Research Institute. The external and genital characteristics of the species is briefly redescribed with available informations.

  • Acanthopsyche nigraplaga Wileman, Psychidae is reported for the first time from Korea with a brief redescription and illustration of its male genitalia. Their food plants, Gomphrena globosa L., Rhubus parvifolius L. var. triphyllus N., Perilla frutescens B. var. acuta K., Menispermum dahuricum Dc., and Chenopodium album L. are also newly reported.

  • Acrolepiopsis nagaimo (Yasuda, 2000) belonging to the family Acrolepiidae (Lepidoptera) is newly reported from Korea. The species was first collected at Gimcheon-si in 2003 and later they were found to infest Chinese yam, Dioscorea batatas at a Chinese yam experimental field of the Institute for Bioresources Research located at Andong in 2008. Diagnostic characteristics of the adult are described and photographs of adult and male and female genitalia are provided.

  • The genus Pseudalelimma Inoue and its single described species P. miwai Inoue are recorded for the first time from Korea. Adult and genitalic characters of female are illustrated and briefly redescribed with its distributional ranges and host plants.
