This is a qualitative study conducted to understand and explain the experience of nursing students' exploring historic sites of independence movement overseas. The study's participants were 24 nursing students in the first and second graders who participated in a program to explore the historic sites of independence movement overseas at a college in C County, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The data collection period was from December 23, 2017 to December 25, 2017. The data collection was carried out in an open self-reporting process, and the collected data were analyzed using the qualitative content analysis method of Krippendorff[13]. Based on the analysis of the experience of nursing students' exploring historic sites of independence movement overseas 19 sub-theme, 10 themes, and 4 categories were derived. The four categories are "Our History Represented in the wake of the independence movement", "Footprint projected of an independent activist ", " Rage Boiling But Hope Remaining", "blooming patriotism through reflection". The results of this study provided an understanding of nursing students' experience in exploring the historical sites of independence movement and have shown that nursing students had the opportunity to recognize the history of independence movements, inspire patriotism and reflect on their attitude as nurses. In addition, institutional efforts and resources should be supported to address the lack of policies on the preservation of the historic sites for independence movements overseas, which are dependent on the private sector.
Roads are widely accepted to be as a major cause of habitat fragmentation. The wildlife road-crossing structure is one of the most acceptable alternatives among the solutions to provide connectivity between patches isolated by roads. We investigated noise disturbance, vegetation structure and wildlife crossing and habitation at a wildlife road-crossing structure located at the Jingmaei-Pass in Incheon, Korea, to monitor and evaluate its conservation value and ecological performance and to propose measures for their adaptive management. From the result of noise measurement, the noise disturbance from the road traffic was not properly blocked out at the wildlife crossing structure. The survey results of vegetation structure showed that the early-successional plant species such as Ambrosia trifida, Erigeron annuus, Pueraria lobata, Rosa multiflora invaded widely on the crossing structure. An efficient management of the vegetation should be necessarily considered for the facilitation of vegetation succession and the improvement of animal habitat. The crossing structure was used by limited mammal species: Apodemus agrarius, Nyctereutes procyonoides, Mogera wogura and Sciurus vulgaris coreae as the results of the monitoring using footprints and closed-circuit television. In conclusion, The Jingmaei-Pass wildlife crossing structure is unable to function properly as a biological corridor because of the interference of noise and flourishing disturbed vegetation. Therefore, proper alternatives are required for improving animal habitats and mobile environments to enhance the ecological function of a wildlife corridor.

The importance of integrated approach have increased gradually in science education. But most of researches on integrated science have been based on the structure of science and epistemology. The investigations of students' psychological science domains are needed for effectiveness of integrated science in science curriculum and classrooms. In this study, for exploration of elementary school students' psychological science domains and their properties, students(N=96) were asked to classify scientific words presented on textbooks in several categories. Many psychological science domains were revealed. Among them, the domains that were over 20% are 'Electricity', 'The human body', 'The earth', 'Energy', 'Plant', 'Animal', 'Environment', 'Living things', 'Weather', 'Flower'. According to the results from analysis on the words that students presented in each domains, the participants hold strongly the relationships caused by everyday experiences. For example, 'light' and 'heat' showed high frequency in 'Electricity' domain and 'The human body' domain included 'force' and 'motion' in high frequency. The most inclusive domain was 'The earth'. Not only the words on earth science but also biological and chemical words were classified in this domain. So The integration that centered with 'The earth' domain looks correspond to the elementary school students' psychological aspect.
There are many trees in a roadside, parks or facilities for landscape. Although we are easily seeing a tree in around, it would be difficult to classify it and to get some information about it, such as its name, species and surroundings of the tree. To find them, you have to find the illustrated books for plants or search for them on internet. The important components of a tree are leaf, flower, bark, and so on. Generally we can classify the tree by its leaves. A leaf has the inherited features of the shape, vein, and so on. The shape is important role to decide what the tree is. And texture included in vein is also efficient feature to classify them. This paper evaluates the performance of a leaf classification system using both shape and texture features. We use Fourier descriptors for shape features, and both gray-level co-occurrence matrices and wavelets for texture features, and used combinations of such features for evaluation of images from the Flavia dataset. We compared the recognition rates and the precision-recall performances of these features. Various experiments showed that a combination of shape and texture gave better results for performance. The best came from the case of a combination of features of shape and texture with a flipped contour for a Fourier descriptor.
This study was carried out to investigate the forest community classification and vegetation structure in NYNRF(National Yonghyeon Natural Recreation Forest). We studied by 26 plots($20{\times}20m$) from April to September 2014. NYNRF were classified into the Quercus mongolica Community, Quercus variabilis community and Acer pictum community in the 3 community units. The Q. mongolica Community was subdivided into the Pinus densiflora group and Typical group and A. pictum community was also subdivided into the Euonymus sachalinensis group and Typical group. NYNRF were classified into 3 communities and 4 groups and 5 VU(vegetation units). According to the result of importance value analysis between vegetation units, VU 1 P. densiflora(65.1%), VU 2 Q. mongolica(73.6%), VU 3 Q. variabilis(75.1%), VU 4 E. sachalinensis(33.3%) and VU 5 Lindera erythrocarpa(27.1%) were highly showed in tree layer and VU 1 Rhododendron mucronulatum (19.3%), VU 2 Calamagrostis arundinacea (16.9%), VU 3 Indigofera kirilowii (75.1%), VU 4 and VU 5 Pseudostellaria heterophylla(each other 14.8% and 24.7%) were highly showed in herb layer. In INSPAN(INdicator SPecies ANalysis) of vegetation units, 33 species were analyzed significantly(p<0.05).
The purpose of this study is to examine consumers' recognition, purchase intention, price acceptability of carving decoration, which can be said to be one part of food-space presentation, food styling, and table decoration. For this, a survey was carried out to target adults in over 20 years old who use a bus and a subway during morning and evening time in Daegu area from May 18, 2009 to May 22, 2009, and 296 copies were used for the final analysis. As a result of the research, over 50% of the consumers know about carving, saying they have come to mow it mostly through TV. Carving was mentioned to be probably used the most in buffet restaurants and other types of restaurants, and to be likely to be used the most in buffet restaurants and Japanese-style food Also, they responded that flower-butterfly carving & Japanese-style food, animal-form carving & Chinese-style food, and watermelon carving & buffet are harmonized the most. In addition, consumers with high recognition of carving decoration were indicated to be high in purchase intention and price acceptability. Also, Consumers with low recognition of carving decoration perceive very low price acceptability even if being high in purchase intention. However, when purchase intention of consumers with high recognition of carving decoration was high, price acceptability was indicted very highly.
Inflammation is a host defense mechanism that is activated in response to harmful substances or pathogens. However, an excessive inflammatory response is a problem in itself. Macrophages secrete inflammatory mediators such as nitric oxide (NO) or cytokines through various pathways such as the nuclear factor kappa B (NF-${\kappa}B$)-activated pathway after recognizing pathogen-like lipopolysaccharides (LPSs). In this study, anti-inflammatory effects of Eupatorium chinensis var. simplicifolium (EUC) extracts were investigated using LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. The EUC root extract significantly reduced NO production, inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) expression, and cyclooxygenase-2 expression in a concentration-dependent manner. In addition, the EUC root extract reduced phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinases and protein kinase B, which is upstream of NF-${\kappa}B$. The EUC root extract also reduced the degradation of inhibitory kappa B. These results indicate that EUC root extract exerts anti-inflammatory effects, which are mediated by inhibition of iNOS expression and the NF-${\kappa}B$ pathway.

In this study, the author comparatively analyzed the effects and applicability of drifts, one of planting design methods based on the principle of visual harmony, to look into the definition and characteristics in planing techniques with examples of drifts in gardens designed by Gerturde Jekyll and Piet Oudolf. Sites chosen for the case studies included Jekyll's Upton grey and Hestercomb garden and Oudolf's At Scampston Hall and Trentham Estate Garden. The results showed that Jekyll set layers for vertical and horizontal structures by using plants of different height to make flowers look like floating with their stems unseen and appear in turn over time. Assemble planting of groups was used to conceal rigid, irregular lines so that the plants are recognized as mass with smoother horizontal lines. Clearly visible, repeated drifts creates a sense of unity. Oudolf, in combining grass and perennial plants, used one-to-one correspondence or expansion to express drifts. Grass serves roles as a connecting material inserted when changing space or making transitions of images. Blocks in single species are repeatedly crossed to set scenes, and overlapping and mixing makes them more lively.
