Recognition Performance Enhancement by License Plate Normalization (번호판 정규화에 의한 인식 성능 향상 기법)

  • This paper proposes a preprocessing method and a neural network based character recognizer to enhance the overall performance of the license plate recognition system. First, plate outlines are extracted by virtual line matching, and then the 4 vertexes are obtained by calculating intersecting points of extracted lines. By these vertexes, plate image is reconstructed as rectangle-shaped image by bilinear transform. Finally, the license plate is recognized by the neural network based classifier which had been trained using delta-bar-delta algorithm. Various license plate images were used in the experiments, and the proposed plate normalization enhanced the recognition performance up to 16 percent.

  • IC chip layout pattern recognition algorithms using image processing techniques are being developed for the automation of manufacturing and inspecting chips. Recognitioin of chip pattern requires feature extraction from nach rrame of chip image adn needs to match the feature data through all frames. In this paper, vertex position and form having layout information are extracted by the feature straightening algorithm, and global coordinates of layout pattern are extracted by the feature straightening algorithm, and global coordinates of layout pattern are obtainnd by vertex form matching from the overlapped area of neighbour frame.

A Single Camera based Method for Cubing Rectangular Parallelepiped Objects (한대의 카메라에 기반한 직육면체의 부피 계측 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a method for measuring the volume of packages for the efficient handling of the packages. Using the geometrical characteristics of the rectangular parallelepiped type objects, the method measures the volume of packages with one camera only in real time. In preprocessing of volume measurement, the method extracts outer lines of the object and then crossing points of the lines as feature points or vertexes. From these cross points(-feature points-), the volume of the package is calculated. Compared to the direct feature extraction, the proposed method shows especially the blurring robust result by using the line for feature extraction. Additionally, the method can get the stable result by considering object's direction. From experimental results, it is demonstrated that this method is very effective for the real time volume measurement of the rectangular parallelepiped.

  • In this paper, we propose a stereo image recognition-based method for measuring the volume of the rectangular parallelepiped. The method measures the volume from two images captured with two CCD (charge coupled device) cameras by sequential processes such as ROI (region of interest) extraction, feature extraction, and stereo matching-based vortex recognition. The proposed method makes it possible to measure the volume of the 3D object at high speed because only a few features are used in the process of stereo matching. From experimental results, it is demonstrated that this method is very effective for measuring the volume of the rectangular parallelepiped at high speed.

  • 본 논문에서는 영상 처리 방법을 이용하여 주어진 객체의 실세계 좌표를 나타내는 특징점을 인식하는 한 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법에서는 육면체 형상의 객체를 대상으로 하며, 이러한 객체 영상의 주요한 특징점은 육면체를 결정짓는 꼭지점들로 이루어진다. 제안된 방법은 CCD 카메라로부터 영상을 획득하는 영상 획득 모듈, 획득된 영상에 대하여 관심 영역을 찾는 영상 분할 모듈, 분할된 관심 영역에 대하여 sobel operator등을 이용하여 경계 정보를 검출하는 영상 처리 모듈, 그리고 세선화, line fitting과정을 통하여 직선 벡터들을 검출한 후에 객체의 주요한 특징점을 인식하는 모듈로 구성된다.

  • 이차원 바코드는 인식이 편리하고 영상의 변이나 손실에 강인하기 때문에 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 장치에서 카메라로 촬영한 영상으로부터 이차원 바코드의 한 종류인 데이터매트릭스를 검출하고 인식하는 방법을 소개한다. 모바일 안드로이드 환경에서 빠른 속도로 검출 및 인식 과정을 수행하기 위해 JNI를 이용하여 C로 기능을 구현하였다. 먼저, 이차원 영상을 이진화한 후 연결 성분 탐색을 통해 바코드 후보영역을 추출한다. 그리고 직선을 검출하여 데이터매트릭스의 주요소인 L 인식 패턴과 타이밍 패턴을 찾는다. 각 패턴을 이용하여 바코드 영역의 꼭지점을 찾아낸 후, 회전이나 기울어짐을 정규화하여 정사각형 형태로 교정한다. 그 후, 타이밍 패턴을 기준으로 데이터 영역을 인식한다.

Progressive Reconstruction of 3D Objects from a Single Freehand Line Drawing (Free-Hand 선화로부터 점진적 3차원 물체 복원)

  • This paper presents a progressive algorithm that not only can narrow down the search domain in the course of face identification but also can fast reconstruct various 3D objects from a sketch drawing. The sketch drawing, edge-vertex graph without hidden line removal, which serves as input for reconstruction process, is obtained from an inaccurate freehand sketch of a 3D wireframe object. The algorithm is executed in two stages. In the face identification stage, we generate and classify potential faces into implausible, basis, and minimal faces by using geometrical and topological constraints to reduce search space. The proposed algorithm searches the space of minimal faces only to identify actual faces of an object fast. In the object reconstruction stage, we progressively calculate a 3D structure by optimizing the coordinates of vertices of an object according to the sketch order of faces. The progressive method reconstructs the most plausible 3D object quickly by applying 3D constraints that are derived from the relationship between the object and the sketch drawing in the optimization process. Furthermore, it allows the designer to change viewpoint during sketching. The progressive reconstruction algorithm is discussed, and examples from a working implementation are given.

  • 본 논문은 심전도의 리드III 파형을 이용하여 신원확인이 가능한 생체인식 기술을 제안한다. 인식을 위한 심전도의 리드III파형을 특징추출하기 위해 $4{\sim}30Hz$의 대역통과 필터를 사용하여 피크(peak)점만 남겨놓고 모든 잡음을 제거한 후, AAV(absolute amplitude value)를 이용하여 피크점의 값을 추출한다. 추출된 피크 점은 원신호의 피크점과 같으므로 이를 기준으로 전체파형을 특징추출을 위한 단위 파형으로 분리한다. 분리된 신호는 정의된 4가지 형태(type)의 파형 중 가장 유사한 파형타입으로 분류되며, 분류된 형태를 기준으로 꼭지점, 최대 피크점, 최소 피크점, 최대.최소 피크점 비, 파형 간격(interval) 및 파형의 세부 모양 등 총22가지의 특징들을 추출한다. 추출된 특징들은 오류역전파 신경회로망(back-propagation neural network)의 입력으로 사용되었으며, 성인남녀 31명을 대상으로 제한된 파형 내에서 실험한 결과 100%의 인식률을 보였다.

A Real-Time Motion Recognition Algorithm for a Rehabilitation Service (재활 훈련 서비스를 위한 실시간 모션인식 알고리즘)

  • The objective of this paper is to develop the real time motion recognition method for the rehabilitation program of the people with physical disabilities. Using the infrared ray LED, this method gets the Teal time information of the user's motion and tells the difference between the information we get and the pre-defined information. In order to get the fast recognition and comparison, this method positions the specific coordinates of infrared ray LED in the pre-classified sector which keeps certain distance and angle from the point of origin. The result In our experiment shows the speed over 20 frames per second in every motion, and we are satisfied the rate for the recognition of the motions which is near 98%.

  • This paper presents an experimental model-based vision system which can identify and locate objects in scenes containing multiple occluded parts. The objects are assumed to be rigid and planar parts. In any recognition system the-type of objects that might appear in the image dictates the type of knowledge that is needed to recognize the object. The data is reduced to a sequential list of points or pixels that appear on the boundary of the objects. Next the boundary of the objects is smoothed using a polygonal approximation algorithm. Recognition cosists in finding the prototype that matches model to image. Now the hidden edge is reconstructed by transition model objects into occluded objects. The best match is obtained by optimising some similarity measure.
