Improvement of MLLR Speaker Adaptation Algorithm to Reduce Over-adaptation Using ICA and PCA (과적응 감소를 위한 주성분 분석 및 독립성분 분석을 이용한 MLLR 화자적응 알고리즘 개선)

  • This paper describes how to reduce the effect of an occupation threshold by that the transform of mixture components of HMM parameters is controlled in hierarchical tree structure to prevent from over-adaptation. To reduce correlations between data elements and to remove elements with less variance, we employ PCA (Principal component analysis) and ICA (independent component analysis) that would give as good a representation as possible, and decline the effect of over-adaptation. When we set lower occupation threshold and increase the number of transformation function, ordinary MLLR adaptation algorithm represents lower recognition rate than SI models, whereas the proposed MLLR adaptation algorithm represents the improvement of over 2% for the word recognition rate as compared to performance of SI models.

The built-in sensor bearing to measure shaft behavior of compressor for air-conditioning (공조용 압축기 축 거동 측정용 베어링 내장형 센서)

  • We developed a built-in sensor bearing to measure the rotor motion of a rolling piston type compressor for the air conditioner. Because of needs for the high efficiency and long life span of compressor, and the usage of alternative refrigerants, the operating condition of the compressor becomes more severe. The accurate measurement of the rotor motion of the compressor can contribute greatly to the design and analysis of the hydrodynamic bearing. However, it is difficult to measure accurately the shaft behavior of small compressor because of the small space for the sensor mount, high temperature and pressure of compressor, oil mixed with refrigerant, and electromagnetic noise of the motor. To overcome these difficulties, we develop the cylindrical capacitive sensor that is built in the hydrodynamic bearing and calibrate the built-in sensor bearing indirectly through measuring the oil relative permittivity. We measured the rotor motion as well as suction and discharge pressures in various conditions. The several experimental results show that the developed built-in sensor bearing can measure the rotor motion not only in steady state but also in transient state.

  • In light guide panels, the PMMA sheet that is used in liquid crystal displays plays an important role in scattering the incident light and requires very fine machining as the sheet is directly related to the optical characteristics of the panels. High speed end milling(HSE) and high speed shaping(HSS) processes that are widely adopted and applied to the precise machining of light incident plane through vibration-assisted HSS for increasing the optical quality by minimizing the above-mentioned problems. The cutting tool and the tool post presented in this paper are designed by the authors to increase the magnitude of the cutting stroke by adopting the resonant frequency without weakening the stiffness and to reduce vibrations during even high speed feeding. The dynamic haracteristics of thecutting tool and the tool post are evaluated through simulation and experiment as well. The results reveal very appropriate dynamic characteristics for vibration-assisted HSS.

Ferroelectric Properties of Bi3.25La0.75Ti3O12 Thin Films Prepared by MOD (MOD 법으로 제작된 Bi3.25La0.75Ti3O12 박막의 강유전 특성)

  • We have fabricated $Bi_{3.25}La_{0.75}Ti_3O_12$ (BLT) thin films on the Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si substrates using a metalorganic decomposition (MOD) method with annealing temperature from $550^{\circ}C$ to $750^{\circ}C$. The structural properties of BLT films examined by x-ray diffraction (XRD). From XRD analysis. BLT thin films show polycrystalline structure. The layered-perovskite phase was obtained by spin-on films at above $600^{\circ}C$ for 1h. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed uniform surface composed of rodlike grains. The grain size of BLT films increased with increasing annealing temperature. The BLT film annealed at $650^{\circ}C$ was measured to have a dielectric constant of 279, dielectric loss of 1.85(%), remanent polarization of $25.66\mu C/\textrm{cm}^2$, and coercive field of 84.75 kV/cm. The BLT thin films showed little polarization fatigue test up to $3.5{\times}10^9$ bipolar cycling at 5 V and 100 kHz.

  • 낙동강하구둑은 바다로부터의 염수칩입을 방지하고 하구둑 상류의 지속적인 용수 공급을 위해 1987년에 건설되었으며 이로 인해 낙동강 상류로부터 유입되는 유사가 낙동강하구둑 근처에서의 유속 감소로 인해 상류 접근수로에 퇴적되는 문제가 발생하고 있다. 이러한 낙동강하구둑 상류의 퇴적되는 유사로 인해 낙동강하류의 하상이 상승되고 통수단면이 축소되는 현상이 발생할 수 있으며 이는 홍수범람의 위험성을 가중 시키는 원인이 될 수 있다. 따라서 매년 하구둑 상류 접근수로에서는 퇴적되는 유사를 제거하기 위해 하구둑 건설 이후에 매년 준설 작업이 수행되고 있으며 최근에 이를 대체할 수 있는 여러 방법들이 여러 연구를 통해 검토되고 있는 실정이다. 특히 하폭이 급격하게 증가하는 하구둑 상류 2 km 지점은 매년 준설 작업 전에 시행되는 측량 자료에 의하면 이 지점에 많은 양의 유사가 퇴적되는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 낙동강하구둑 접근수로에서 매년 준설되는 퇴사를 하구둑 상류 2 km 지점 우안 쪽을 매립함으로써 하도를 인위적으로 축소시켜 유속을 증가시키고 결과적으로 퇴사량을 경감 시킬 수 있을 것으로 예측된다. 이러한 하도 축소를 이용한 퇴사 저감 방법의 적용성 검토를 위해 2차원 수치모형인 RMA2 모형과 SED2D 모형을 이용하여 흐름 및 하상변동 분석하였다.

  • Performance of Secondary Injection Thrust Vector Control system is investigated under various secondary injection operating conditions. 3-dimensional converging-diverging nozzle having 8 secondary injection nozzles is used in this numerical study. Total pressure of flow inside the nozzle is about 70bars, and total temperature set to 300K for cold flow simulation. Effect of secondary injection flow rate and injection nozzle configuration is considered in this research. Simulation is conducted with commercial CFD code Ansys Fluent v13. Spalart-Allmaras(1-equation)model is used for turbulence modeling with AUSM+ scheme. Various performance factors as Axial thrust, side force, system specific impulse ratio are considered and explained for system performance evaluation.

  • 최근 4대강 하천정비 사업과 용지 개발로 인해 하천으로 유입되는 유사량 및 하천 유사농도의 증대가 예상되면서 유사이송에 대한 관심은 수자원분야에서 날로 커지고 있다. 하천에서의 유사 이송과 하상변화를 예측하기 위해 수행되는 수치모의에서는 유사량 산정공식에 따라 동일한 수리 조건에서도 유사량 값이 각각 다르게 산정될 뿐만 아니라 하상변동 값도 적용 공식에 따라 다르게 산정된다. 하지만 국내에서는 이와 같은 문제에도 불구하고 유사량 공식에 대한 하상변동의 민감도 분석 또는 검증 과정 없이 수치모의를 수행하거나 수치모형에서 채택하고 있는 단일 유사량 공식을 그대로 적용하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 다양한 유사량 공식 적용이 가능한 준정상류 모형인 HEC-6 프로그램을 활용하였으며 대상하천으로는 상류의 급경사와 집중호우로 인해 다량의 유사가 침식되고 퇴적되는 문제가 발생하고 있는 낙동강 하류 80km구간으로 선정하였다. 낙동강 유역의 실제수문사상을 적용하여 하상변동 수치모의를 수행하였으며 그 결과를 유사량 공식별로 비교하였다.

  • "Cut off line" in automotive passing beam has very important safety function because it serves for headlamp aiming. Headlights that are aimed incorrectly will not only perform poorly but also offend oncoming traffic. In addition, an objective definition of cut off line in low beam is necessary, since a requirement for correct aiming of the beams is specified within all the existing regulations. Accordingly, headlight regulations are requirements that automobiles must satisfy in order to be sold in a particular country. In this study, a more advanced recognition method for the cut off lines of the various headlamps commonly used in Europe, North America, and domestic is suggested and a headlamp testing system is developed to adjust the beam to the country-specific regulation. This system uses image processing technology to detect the cut off lines in the beam patterns of halogen headlamps, high-intensity discharge headlamps, and light-emitting diode headlamps as well.

IR Characteristics of an Aircraft in Different Atmospheric/Background Conditions (대기/배경에 따른 계절별 항공기 적외선 방사 특성)

  • Infrared(IR) guided heat-seeking missiles uses IR emissions from aircraft to detect and track a target. Due to passive characteristic of the IR guidance, early detection of the missile is difficult and it is significant threat to aircraft survivability. Therefore, IR signature prediction of the aircraft is an important aspect of the stealth technology. In this study, we simulated IR signature of the aircraft in real atmospheric conditions. Aircraft surface temperature distribution was calculated by using RadthermIR code. Based on temperature distribution, IR radiance and BRDF(Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function) image were simulated for different weather(seasonal) and background(sky/soil) conditions. The IR contrast tendencies are not aligned with surface temperature or magnitude of target IR radiance. Therefore, it is essential to simulate IR signature with various conditions and background to acquire reliable database.

  • We improved the MLLR speaker adaptation algorithm with reduction of the order of HMM parameters using PCA(Principle Component Analysis) or ICA(Independent Component Analysis). To find a smaller set of variables with less redundancy, we adapt PCA(principal component analysis) and ICA(independent component analysis) that would give as good a representation as possible, minimize the correlations between data elements, and remove the axis with less covariance or higher-order statistical independencies. Ordinary MLLR algorithm needs more than 30 seconds adaptation data to represent higher word recognition rate of SD(Speaker Dependent) models than of SI(Speaker Independent) models, whereas proposed algorithm needs just more than 10 seconds adaptation data. 10 components for ICA and PCA represent similar performance with 36 components for ordinary MLLR framework. So, compared with ordinary MLLR algorithm, the amount of total computation requested in speaker adaptation is reduced by about 1/167 in proposed MLLR algorithm.
