  • 전력선 통신은 새로운 통신전용 선로나 별도의 추가 시설 없이, 기존의 전력 공급용 전력선로를 통신선로로 병용할 수 있다는 장점을 갖고 있다. 하지만 이러한 전력선 통신은 다양한 부하의 운전과 빈번한 부하의 기동 정지로 인하여 잡음이 발생하며 이에 본 연구에서는 전력선 채널의 협대역 잡음에 대처하는 변조방식을 제시함과 동시에 최근 들어 고용량 데이터 전송이 빈번한 홈 네트워크분야에 응용될 수 있는 고속 전력선 통신 기법을 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 전력선 통신의 변조기법은 현재 무선 LAN에서 보편화된 변조방식으로 적용되고 있는 IEEE 802.11b의 CCK(Complementary Code Keying) 변조 방식이다. 채널 모델링은 댁내 전력선망을 기준으로 $10kHz{\sim}30MHz$ 대역에서의 전력선로 및 가정용 부하 특성에 기초한 모델링을 하였고 전력 계통 과도해석 소프트웨어인 PSCAD로 채널 모델을 구성하여 홈네트워크 환경에서의 전력선 통신의 신호 특성을 분석하였다.

  • 현대 사회는 지식ㆍ정보화를 추구하며 변화하고 있다. 지식ㆍ정보화사회는 개인, 기업 및 사회 모든 주체에 대하여 영상, 음성, 데이터 등의 다양한 정보의 교환을 극대화할 수 있는 인프라를 제공하게 될 것이며 이는 인간생활의 새로운 혁신을 예고하고 있다. 한편 이러한 지식 정보화는 고도의 정보 저장 및 통신기술이 필수적으로 요구되며 현재보다도 더욱 고속, 대용량의 정보처리가 가능한 소자로의 발전을 요구하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 현재의 반도체 기술은 90nm 이하의 나노기술에 이미 진입하여 물리적인 한계(현재 70nm로 추정)에 근접하고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 소자기술의 고도화를 위해서 기존 소자의 지속적인 축소화 이외의 대안으로 Bottom-Up 나노소자 기술이 90년대 이후 새로운 패러다임으로써 활발히 연구되고 있다.   • The train control system used in Gyeongbu-line is classified in ATC, IXL and CTC. The ATC data related to speed and space control for trains are transmitted from wayside to onboard by way of UM71 AF track circuits and BSP Loop. The information transferred by track circuits is composed of operation data which directly influence to the train operation and the information transferred by BSP Loop is used in the section which requires the additional data transmission about the particular track-side environment such as tunnel, hot box detector or insulated section. In this paper, for the BA type turning unit of the UM71 AF track circuits which is mainly used in the linking section of existing and high-speed lines from the opening of the Gyeongbu line till the present, we not only analyze the characteristics of BA but also compare and analyze baseline values and the measured values. With this analysis, we will be able to propose how to solve the problems about operation and maintenance such as track circuit malfunctions of the relevant sections.

In order to evaluate stability of track and vehicle running safety. the effect of curve radius, the field tests were performed at sharply curved track.

  • Almost all existing inspection methods for catenary system have relied on dedicated track inspection cars. Two factors make it necessary to modify the conventional method: First, the climate has become increasingly similar to that of a subtropical area. In addition, high speed trains have been developed that can run as fast as 450Km/h. This paper presents a visual catenary inspection system structure that incorporates roadbed information for high-speed running environments. Conventional catenary inspection systems determined the degree of wearing only for the trolley wire. The facility inspection system presented in this paper on the other hand utilizes visual and sound data of inspection targets and adjusts inspection frequency and sensitivity depending on the geographic data.

  • Railway is an important transportation tool for nation's industrial development and public daily life. These days the concern about railway has remarkably been rising due to the April 2004 opening of KTX, Korea High Speed Rail, together with Trans-Continental Railways linking North Korea, China, Russia, through European countries. In the meantime, the issues of train safety and efficiency, arising from the different on-board signaling systems installed on different kinds of trains, have been raised incessantly. In this paper CTCS(Continental Train Control System) is suggested, which can accommodate such various signaling functions as ATP, ATC, ATS, etc. into one single type of on-board signaling system and operate without changing ground signaling systems on the junctions of the Trans-Continental Railways. The development of this CTCS would cause speed-up of exiting lines and possession of railway core solutions for establishing Northeast Asia logistics center bases, which could be an important cornerstone for domestic railway improvements and Korea's role of Northeast Hub.

  • In order to speed up basic concept is to enhance high speed, curve limit speed, cross limit speed, acceleration/deceleration speed. It is important to optimal interface fundamental technology of vehicle, rail, electrical power, and signal system. Tilting train has advantage minimizing investment cost of infra railway system for increasing train limit speed in curve. the developed tilting train should be operated to commercial service speed 180Km/h of 200Km/h at KNR upgrade railroad. This paper proposed the basic model of system engineering for developing of TTX, tilting EMU (maximum operation speed : 180km/h) with speed-up of conventional railway system.

  • Tilting trains are now an established feature of railway operations throughout the world. For intercity traffic, tilt provides operators with increasing speeds, and therefore enhanced competitiveness, on existing routes where insufficient traffic or a lack of funds precludes the construction of a dedicated new high-speed railway. Appling the tilting train, we can expect 30% of speed up on existing lines, but the stability of the electric current would be low because of tilting the train. Also, the spark between the catenary and pantagraph cause environmental problems such as noise, radio wave malfunction. Therefore, the tilting on pantagraph for the power suppling device is very essential for stable electric power supply.

  • The KTX, which have opened the revenue service in April 2004, is operating in Kyoung-Bu high-speed line and electrified conventional Ho-Nam line, and the more the electrification are enlarged, the more the requirement of operating of high speed train would be increased. In this paper, the result of test run and evaluation on the suitability of operating high speed train in electrified conventional line between Dae-jeon and East Dae-gu was reviewed. Evaluation and analysis was executed in specific categories, such as operation & running performance of the train considering vibration characteristics based on UIC 518, ride comfort and current collection, and response sensitivity of ATS device for signalling from track facility. The result of this running test was evaluated and considered as a good practice for revenue operation of high speed train in electrified conventional line between Dae-jeon and Dae-gu.

  • Tilting system allow the train to pass curve at higher speed without affecting passenger comfort. As the tilting trains offer the optimum means of providing faster and more comportable rail service with minimum of environmental disturbance and capital investment, more than 14 countries have now adopted or are about to adopt tilting train technology. The Korean National Railroad is also planing to apply faster tilting train to the areas where the High speed rail service are not provided. This paper shows the concept design of Bogie and Tilting system for 180 km/h Express tilting train for Korean conventional line, which was done as a part of the KNR's R&D project.
