As global competition is heating up and product life cycle has been rapidly shortened, each company pursues a variety of competitive technology innovations through different means of innovation. In this study, we assume that open innovation can be a shift motive of the technology innovation paradigm of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) being beyond the limitations of R&D within a company. We analyze the process and content of open innovation and performance. In addition, we identify the problems generated in the open innovation process and analyze the ways to strengthen open innovation. This study is based on the investigations into the technological competitiveness of local SMEs. The innovation ecosystem is analyzed from the perspective of product/service innovation, organizational innovation, and marketing innovation. Situational analysis is presented on the relationship between the innovation capabilities of information and communication technology SMEs and innovation performance.

Technological innovation is one of critical challenges for small and medium enterprises(SMEs) as well as larger firms. This study focuses on empirical test about the role of absorptive capacity on the relationship between technological collaboration and technological innovation outcomes in the context of SMEs. To achieve the purpose, we conducted hierarchical regression analysis through 266 samples from Korean manufacturing SMEs that is defined as an enterprise less than 300 employees. As a result, more diverse exploitations for types of technological collaboration have significant and positive impact on technological innovation outcomes. Additionally, the results show that absorptive capacity based on knowledge realization capability strengthens the impact on which external sources and types of technological collaboration affect technological innovation outcomes. Based on the results, we propose that SMEs require intense management efforts in establishing capability to create new knowledges, by combining existing knowledges, because excessive exploitations for external sources of technological collaboration necessarily do not help enhance technological innovation outcomes.

중국 중소기업들은 기업 경영에서 아웃소싱을 광범위하게 활용하고 있다. 이에 따라 아웃소싱을 위한 정보 수집 및 활용 역량은 기업의 성과에 영향을 미치는 매우 중요한 역량으로 작용할 수 있다. 특히, 글로벌 시장에서 이러한 정보 역량은 기업의 수출 경쟁력을 제고하고, 지속가능한 성과 향상의 핵심 역량으로 작용할 수 있디. 이에 본 연구에서는 중국 중소기업의 이러한 아웃소싱 전략을 개방형 혁신 전략의 프레임워크에서 논의하고, 중국 중소기업의 정보수집 및 활용 능력이 기업들이 추진하는 제품 차별화나 원가우위 전략에 미치는 영향을 실증분석 하였다. 또한, 이러한 정보 역량들이 궁극적으로 기업의 최종적인 성과로서 수출성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 검증하였다. 이를 위하여 설문조사를 통해 중국 중소기업 345개사의 응답을 확보하였고, 구조방정식모형(SEM)을 통해 실증분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 중국 중소기업들의 정보수집 및 활용 역량은 각각 제품차별화 전략과 원가우위전략의 실행에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이를 통해 최종적으로 기업의 수출성과 역시 향상되는 것을 규명하였다.

Due to the recent mid- to long-term slump and falling growth rates in the global economy, interest in organizational structures that create new products or services as a new alternative to survive and develop in an opaque environment both internally and externally, and enhance organizational sustainability through changes in production methods and business innovation is increasing day by day. In this atmosphere, we agree that the growth of small and medium-sized venture companies has a significant impact on the national economy, and various efforts are being made to enhance the technological innovation capabilities of the members so that these small and medium-sized venture companies can enhance and sustain their performance. The purpose of this study is also to investigate how the technological innovation capabilities of small and medium-sized venture companies correlate with the performance of knowledge management and to analyze the role of network capabilities to organize the strategic activities of enterprise to obtain the resources and organizational capabilities to be used for value creation from external networks. In other words, research was conducted on the impact of technological innovation capabilities of small and medium venture companies on knowledge management performance by using network capabilities as parameters. Therefore, in this study, we would like to verify the hypothesis that innovation capabilities will have a positive impact on knowledge management performance by using network capabilities of small and medium venture companies. Economic activities based on technological innovation capabilities should respond quickly to new changes in an environment where uncertainty has increased, and lead to macro-economic growth and development as well as overcoming long-term economic downturns so that they can become the nation's new growth engine as well as sustainable growth and survival of the organization. In addition, this study was conducted by setting the most important knowledge management performance within the organization as a dependent variable. As a result, R&D and learning capabilities among technological innovation capabilities have no impact on financial performance. In contrast, it was shown that corporate innovation activities have a positive impact on both financial and non-financial performance. The fact that non-financial factors such as quality and productivity improvement are identified in the management of small and medium-sized venture companies utilizing their technological innovation capabilities is contrary to a number of studies by those corporate innovation activities affect financial performance during prior research. The reason for this result is that research companies have been out of start-up companies for more than seven years, but sales are less than 10 billion won, and unlike start-up companies, R&D and learning capabilities have more positive effects on intangible non-financial performance than financial performance. Corporate innovation activities have been shown to have a positive (+) impact on both financial and non-financial performance, while R&D and learning capabilities have a positive (+) impact on financial performance by parameters of network capability. Corporate innovation activities have been shown to have no impact on both financial and non-financial performance, and R&D and learning capabilities have no impact on non-financial performance. It could be seen that the parameter effects of network competency are limited to when R&D and learning competencies are derived from quantitative financial performance. The business environment of today's small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs) has a tendency to shorten the product life cycle due to the rapid technological change. Therefore, in this study, an empirical study was conducted to understand the influence of CEO type and technological innovation capability on management performance through technological innovation performance as a medium. The subject of the study was a survey focusing on executive level and above of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in the southeast region, and the research results are as follows. Overall, it was verified that the structural causal relationship between the technological innovation performance and the management performance of the CEO type and technological innovation capability of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises is a relationship that has a significant influence with mutual correlation. These results indicate that higher performance can be achieved when technological innovation performance is combined with the effect of technological innovation capability on management performance according to CEO type. In this way, SMEs are trying to present the need for various innovative activities to discover excellent technologies and acquire competence, and to suggest a development direction that requires efforts to improve the technological competitiveness of enterprises.

The purpose of this study to understand collaborative process and the capabilities of the firm impact on innovation performance in convergence environment. To achieve the purpose, research model was empirically tested with a survey from 162 employees from 4 Korea manufacturing companies and 1 USA company. The data obtained from the survey were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS). As a result, collaboration process, learning capability and operation capability have significant and positive impact on innovation performance. It is a meaningful result that the collaboration process improve the innovation performance of firms through the operation capability and the learning capability.

a본 논문에서는 과학기술정책연구원에서 조사한 2016년 한국기술혁신조사(KIS 2016) 데이터를 이용하여 한국 제조기업의 혁신성과에 영향을 미치는 혁신저해요인에 관한 분석을 진행하였다. KIS 2016 데이터의 제조업 기업 수는 4000개였는데 이 중 혁신 설문에서 제시한 혁신 저해요인 중 아무것도 겪지 않았다고 답한 기업과 응답이 누락된 기업을 제외한 3159개 기업의 데이터를 활용하여 분석을 진행하였으며, 분석 방법으로는 로지스틱 회귀모형을 사용하였다. 자료를 바탕으로 요인분석을 실시하였으며, 그에 따라 혁신 저해요인으로 자금 문제, 기업 역량 요인, 필요 요인 총 세 가지 요인이 추출되었다. 이를 바탕으로 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과 자금 문제와 기업 역량 요인의 경우 혁신 제품의 시장 출시에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 필요 요인의 경우 음(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 기업의 혁신 성공에 있어서는 기술혁신의 필요성에 대한 인식 제고가 시급한 것으로 분석되었다.

Although Companies are forming cooperation and networks with various companies such as technology and R&D, but it is urgently necessary to secure multiple competencies of companies that can effectively adapt. This study investigated the effects of corporate strategic orientation, technological innovation capability, and organizational capability on corporate performance targeting SMEs located in the Daegu area. The survey was conducted from September 1 to November 30, 2021 for employees of Daegu companies, and a total of 183 cases were used for the final analysis. Looking at the results of the analysis, as a result of multiple regression analysis on Daegu companies, it was found that the strategic orientation, technological innovation capability, and organizational capability of managers, all independent variables, had a significant positive (+) effect on corporate performance. It can be seen that efforts should be made to improve education and R&D according to various competency bases and innovations because of the large impact on the manager's mind, the company's core technical competency, and the company's organizational performance. This study aimed to understand the importance of corporate strategic orientation, technological innovation capability, and organizational capability on corporate performance targeting relevant SMEs that can have a significant impact on national and regional economies.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the structural relationship of the impact on the business performance when it pursues resource based production strategies, nurtures core competency, develops core product lines and innovate its business models as part of a strategy of value innovation and to validate how the nurturing core competency can have an impact on the execution of the value innovation strategies. This paper confirms that there is a structural relationship, which is logically and conceptually valid, among the core competence, value innovation strategies and business performance of manufacturing companies. In order to maximize the business performance which is the eventual objective of a company, it must strategically nurture its core competence, which will be a main driver of the future competitiveness and diversify its management based on the value innovation strategies.

This study empirically identified how technological innovation capability and technological commercialization capability affect management performance in the metropolitan area of Ppuri corporation. As results of the research analysis, First the average company performance in the field of new materials and platform processing technology was higher than that of the metal-oriented processing technology field. Second, technological innovation capability variables are included as R&D capability, technological innovation regime, and technological accumulation capability are shown the statistically significant on non-financial performance. Commercialization capability, producing capability, and marketing capability variable are statistically significant on financial performance.
