  • Collection and use of personal information have enabled firms to improve their value propositions by offering personalization. On the other hand, they have caused widespread concerns by consumers that their privacy is invaded. Because previously distributed personal information can be integrated and utilized to offer more personalized services, those concerns may be intensified with the progress of the digital convergence environment. In this study, factors for privacy invasion and their impact on the privacy concerns are suggested. Then, an empirical study is conducted to examine some of the suggestions. From the analysis, several results are derived. First, as more personal data are collected, secrecy and autonomy concerns increase exponentially rather than steadily. Second, as targeting accuracy is improved, greater secrecy and autonomy concerns are expressed by consumers, but less seclusion concerns. Finally, monetary reward such as coupons can reduce seclusion concerns when targeting accuracy is high. Based on the results, implications for managing consumer privacy concerns are provided under digital convergence environment.

Second, research on dementia is increasing due to social influences such as government support. Third, we suggested that dementia is changing from a viewpoint of diseases to be managed at the facility and treatment of severe dementia patients to a paradigm from the viewpoint of management of mild patients and community participation. Fourth, dementia seems to be shifting from a serious and negative awareness to a social atmosphere that is accepted as a slow but manageable disease. This is changing to a dementia-friendly social environment, which is making a very positive environmental change. This study contributes to the field research by presenting the trend of domestic research on dementia.

These thermal shrinkages were measured by hank method (KSK 0215) and foray FTA-500 apparatus, and these measured data were analysed and discussed with measuring methods. The specimens prepared were PET POY 85d/72f and 120d/36f, furthermore, 250d/48f and 155d/50f PET POY were also prepared for comparison of wet and dry thermal shrinkages between Japan and domestic PET POY. And the wet and dry thermal shrinkages of each specimens were measured according to the each layer divided by 50,000m of the cake, and between and within thermal shrinkages were analysed and discussed with the domestic and foreign PET POY and measuring methods such as hank ant Toray methods.

  • This study analyzes whether cooperating with various types of partners contributes to a company's innovation performance as well as the moderating effect of absorptive capacity and appropriability that may affect learning in such relationship. The hypothesis is that cooperating with diverse partners will have a positive effect on the innovation performance since it acquires their knowledge and information. In addition, an analysis is conducted on the moderating effect of absorptive capacity and appropriability on the relationship between alliance portfolio consisting various partners and innovation since absorptive capacity that encourages learning is likely to positively moderate the relationship between partner diversity and innovation while appropriability, the capacity to protect the proprietary technology, is likely to undermine learning from partners. The result of the empirical analysis on Korea's key industries, machinery and automobile, using the 2010 Korea Innovation Survey(KIS) data on manufacturing shows that cooperating with various types of technology partners has a positive effect on innovation performance and moderating effect on appropriability.

  • This study investigates the diversity of news topic and source of the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and the Los Angeles Times in the second half of the twentieth century. In probing the conventional traits of the contemporary press, the researcher traced the changing patterns and trends of news values in terms of news-gathering routine in order to evaluate the journalistic role conception in terms of social responsibility theory. Findings indicated that the American press as a neutral transmitter has been consistently violated by source and topic bias without any significant changes during the last five decades. The data, however, revealed the evident shift of the contemporary press from the heavy reliance of official source to the business/economic source. In addition, news topics such as business, health, and education have replaced the conventional popular topics such as crime and accidents. By contrast, it was revealed that the unconventional topics such as poverty, labor and minority still fail to receive the large attention from the target papers.

  • Based on the Knowledge Spillover Theory of Entrepreneurship, this study analyzes the relationship between technological entrepreneurship and national competitiveness. It also analyzes how innovation-driven economy moderates this relationship. Using data on technological entrepreneurship, national competitiveness indexes and economy development stages from 83 countries over 2011 to 2014, this study finds that a ratio of technology-based start-ups in a country has a U-shaped relationship with national competitiveness. this study also finds that countries that are in the innovation-driven economy strengthen this relationship. This finding shows that a higher ratio of technology-based start-ups of a country does not have unconditional positive effects on national competitiveness, thus, related environments and conditions should be elaborately matched. In particular, this finding also implies that policies related to technology-based start-ups should have a proper fit with the level of economic development of the country so that the positive effects of technological entrepreneurship on national competitiveness can be strengthened.

  • Today a lot of functional areas of a firm are operated on the Web. Online shopping malls analyze web log recording customers' activities on the web to connect them to business outcomes. Not only commercial websites, but online news sites also need to collect and analyze web logs to understand their news readers' interest. However, little research has been performed yet. In this research we mined the web access log of an online news website and conduct Market Basket Analysis to uncover the association rules among the categories of news articles. The research is composed of two stages: 1) Identifying the individual session of a visitor; 2) Mining association rule from news articles read by each session. We gather 7-day access logs two times. The results of log mining and meanings of association rules are suggested with managerial implications in conclusion section.

  • With rapid convergence of information technology and expending role of software, many organizations have taken interested in We explore the relationship between the level of change awareness and deployment of software process improvement (SPI) approaches using a competing values framework. To measure awareness level of organization's change, DICE framework which provides means for predicting the outcome of change management initiatives is used. The four factors for organizaton's change: duration, integrity, commitment, and effort are evaluated and a score is calculated. In this paper, we apply the DICE(R) score as an independent variable to predict the outcome of a software process improvement. Our results indicated that the Organization have a higher chance of success have the better outcome in software process improvement.
