A Study on Position Detection in Gears in Automatic Production of Geared Shaft (기어의 생산자동화를 위한 기어의 위치정보 검출에 관한 연구)

  • Available shafts with gears at each end of the cylinder-shaped steel are widely used as power train components for automobiles. In order to automate the production of a geared shaft, there are problems to be solved. After one side of the cylinder is cut in gears, one of the problems is to determine the position of the cylinder which has been already cut. The shaft is then to be fed ahead with geared position to the chuck with jaws in geared shape. The other problem is to acquire information on an angular position of the shaft to fit to the jaws of the chuck. This paper deals with the magnetic detection sensor of gear position. Coils are installed in two places. Self-inductances of coils are detected by the changes of reluctance and are then compared. The magnetic analysis also has been carried out by the finite element analysis (FEM).

Stress Analysis of a Clamp Chuck for Machining of a Ring Gear (링기어 절삭을 위한 클램프 척의 응력해석)

  • This study contains to theory and analysis research for the stress and the translation of an expand disk that fix a ring gear for tooth profile machining. The stress of the expand disk is analysed by the finite element method(FEM) to calculate design parameters. From the analysis results, the stress of the expand shows a linear tendency under various fixing force. This results show that the expand disk have a elastic characteristics as a disk spring. The maximum stress was observed on under side in split section of the expand disk. It is verified that the analysis results are useful to calculate design parameters of the expand disk.

Development of Jig Type Chuck for Roundness Improvement in a Machining of High Stage Speed Gear (고단속 기어의 가공 시 진원도 향상을 위한 지그척 개발)

  • Recently, the requirements for high precision and efficiency machining are gradually increased to raise international competitiveness at the industrial fields of automotive and gears. This trend had made effects on the industrial fields in Korea and which needs further studying of high accuracy and efficiency machining. This study is to investigate the effects of Jig type chuck for roundness improvement in CNC turning machining of high stage speed gear. After hobbing machining, Dimensional change before and after heat treatment was very largely generated. In order to solve this problem was to develop a jig type chuck. After the heat treatment, the operation of the chuck which was the most distinguished equipment among Jig type chuck(0.006mm), Scroll type chuck(0.05mm) and Bolt type chuck(0.04mm). Therefore, Jig type chuck was satisfied the requirement from the actual field(0.02mm).
