It is well known that international cooperation is considerably more difficult because of the difference of interests, level of technology of the partners, social and culture as well as various macro-environmental conditions. This case study aims to investigate the success factors of international R&D collaboration between two firms. For it, an in-dept interview was conducted to the Etri-Microsoft Information Security Lab. A comprehensive research on theories, such as resource-based theory, network theory, relationship marketing theory and market power perspective was done as well. The results show clear objectives, communications based on trust, core competence on which the counterpart can rely on, consideration on the government decision process as well as the environment are important for success.

사회의 복잡화와 인터넷의 성장으로 인하여 매일 급속도로 증가하고 있는 정보들을 사용자가 모두 검토해 보고 자신의 기호에 맞는 정보들만 선택하여 사용하기는 어려운 일이다. 이를 보완하기 위해 자동화된 정보 여과 기술이 사용되는데 대표적인 방법으로 내용 기반 여과(information Filtering) 기술과 협력적 여과(Collaborative Filtering) 기술이 있다. 이 중 협력적 여과 기술은 정보의 속성을 고려하지 않는다는 단점을 가지는데 본 논문에서는 이를 보완하여 정보의 대표 속성을 중심으로 선호도 예측을 수행하는 개선된 협력적 여과 방법을 제안한다. 그리고 기존 협력적 여과 기술과 예측의 정확성에 대하여 성능 비교 실험을 수행함으로써 제안한 방법의 타당성을 제시한다.

In an era of global competition, international cooperation in science and technology plays a key role in determining a nation's competitiveness. In fact, without international cooperation, it is almost impossible to keep in touch with the fast-changing technology. In regard to this, the Korean government put much efforts into building a strong base for global R&D networking. As a result, the environment for international cooperation has improved a lot. However, the outputs of international cooperation are still poor and fall short of expectations. With the importance of international cooperation in science and technology rising more and more, it is meaningful to examine the current situation of international cooperation in S&T and analyse the outputs of the cooperation activities to review our past and present international cooperation activities. Therefore, this paper focuses on analyzing the outputs of the MEST's international S&T cooperation programs in various ways and recommends ways to improve the outputs of the international cooperation in science and technology.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the current status of the SW industry and technology in Korea and India, and to suggest future strategies for cooperation. To accomplish the goal, this study outlines the characteristics of the SW industry, its market size, and the current statuses of SW technologies in the two countries; and presents strategies for future cooperation by comparing the level of technology in the two countries while considering the need for vitalizing their cooperation. For comparing level of the SW industry's technology, so-called 4P evaluation (professionals, patents, papers, and products) was used, and a total of 21 projects were selected as future projects for cooperation through the analysis. In addition, the new approaches for future cooperation were presented; the exchange of manpower as a form of priority cooperation, more effort to develop and accumulate intellectual property rights to build conditions suitable for cooperation from India as well as a cooperation fund to bring continuous cooperation between the two countries.

Open innovation is known to have a significant impact on the performance of enterprise innovation. The role of open innovation is more critical due to small scale and limitation on the available resources for the venture company. This study focused on the relationship among Entrepreneurship(ENT), Innovation Capability(IC), and External Cooperation(EC), which affect Technological Innovation Performance(TIP) to maximize TIP. Empirical study was proceeded to analyze the relationships among ENT, IC, EC, and TIP for venture companies in Busan. ENT was verified to have a positive impact on IC, EC, and TIP. IC was done on EC and TIP. EC was done on TIP. Each of IC and EC showed positive mediating role in the relationship between ENT and TIP. Finally, IC and EC together performed positive mediating role in the relationship between ENT and TIC.

In this study, we focus on identifying the determinants of improving technology collaboration performance between buyer and supplier and the impact of the determinants on new product development performance. We adopted trust, control and information sharing as the determinants of technology collaboration and the frequency of new product introduction and ratio of new product on revenue as dependent variables. We conducted hierarchical regression and mediation analysis using the data collected from 600 Korean manufacturing firms by Korean Productivity Association and Ministry of Trade and Industry in 2012. The empirical findings indicate that trust, control and information sharing are positively associated with technology collaboration performance and the degree of technology collaboration is also positively associated with both new product development performance. In addition, new product development performance is not only affected by technology collaboration but also mediated by trust. This result implies that developing social capital, trust with partner play a important role in leading to better performance by open innovation.

The purpose of this research was to figure out what impacts technology and market orientation have on technological cooperation and management performance by analyzing the factors of technological cooperation aimed at firm's product development. In addition, the research was purported to help CEO and policy makers make better decision about technological cooperation by means of the systematic examination on the impacts that different factors of technological cooperation have on the management performance. For this purpose, it was analyzed first what kind of technology or factors of market orientation might affect manufacturer's technological cooperation. From the analysis, it was found that technological cooperation is affected by the factors of market orientation, which means that a firm needs strategic technological cooperation by taking into account multi-dimensional factors of technology and market when the firm aims at developing technology and market orientation. Second, it was analyzed whether a firm's technological cooperation has an impact on its performance. The results indicated that the impact differs in the degree of process of technological cooperation, implying that managing firm's technological cooperation is important in order to improve the quality of management performance. Third, it was analyzed through what structural relations technology and market orientation could exercise impacts on management performance. It was discovered from the 1analysis that technology and market orientation have an impact on management performance. To improve management performance, it seems essential to determine the order of priority among technology and factors of market orientation.

자율운항선박의 상용화 및 운항을 위한 기술 인증기준, 운항 법적 근거, 보험제도를 마련하고 국제기구의 효과적인 대응전략을 개발하여 자율운항선박 도입의 기반 마련하기 위하여 자율운항선박 국제표준화기술개발 과제가 수행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 자율운항선박의 기술이 개발되어 국제해사기구(IMO)의 의제화가 되는 절차와 국제표준화기구(ISO, IEC 등)의 표준개발이 완료되기까지 하나의 협력체계로서 효율적으로 완성이 되기까지의 일련의 과정을 보인다. 특히 수립된 협력체계가 체계적이고 효율적으로 운영 되도록 중장기적 관점에서 전략을 수립하고 개발된 기술이 산업계까지 연결되어 활성화 되도록 하는 플랫폼의 구축과 운영에 관하여 제안하고자 한다.

LG디스플레이의 생산기술 전문가와 협력사의 기술자들이 태스크포스팀을 만들고 LG디스플레이의 생산기술 노하우를 협력사의 생산라인에 적용한다. 단편적 지원이 아닌 제품을 잘 생산하는 기술을 전수해서 협력사가 생산성과 품질, 원가경쟁력을 갖추도록 한다. 이들 협력사들이 최고의 경쟁력을 갖추면 그것이 곧 LG디스플레이의 경쟁력이다. LG디스플레이가 2007년부터 시작한 "고기 잘 잡는 법" 방식의 협력사 상생 모델 실험이 성과를 나타내면서 협력사의 수익성 향상, LG디스플레이의 시장경쟁력 강화로 이어져 성공적인 '동반성장' 상생 모델로 평가 받고 있다.

This study tested the hypothesis from the previous research issues and empirically investigated the determinants of cooperative strategy for technological innovation, using the multinomial logit model. The meaningful conclusions from this study are as follows. First, the characteristics of the company and product are not the significant determinants for cooperative strategy for technological innovation. Second, formal R&D organization characteristics are significant factors in determining the type of cooperative strategy for technological innovation. Third, the support of government is a significant determinant and if a company receives more government support, it is likely to accept public type cooperation. Fourth, the characteristics of industry are significant determinants and if a company belongs to a higher technology industry, it is likely to accept vertical type cooperation with private enterprises. This study analyzed the hypotheses raised in a variety of studies empirically. This paper presents the basis of various studies concerning technological cooperation strategies.
