Development of I-HTTP for supporting Interactive Learning Object (상호작용적 학습 객체 지원을 위한 I-HTTP 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to define an interactive learning object of ILO through implementation of learning object content standardization technology for the reuse of interactive tools between learners, and to develop I(Interactive)-HTTP for the ILO to properly communicate with LMS. 1-HTTP developed here was enabled to keep connection status during the entire session by improving the existing HTTP with its stateless connection property. This ceaseless connection made it possible to provide users with the real-time interactivity between learners that happened frequently in the ILO. Also, because the I-HTTP was an expanded version of HTTP, it was possible to conduct general HTML documentation as well as ILO. In particular, the standardized launch process between LMS and ILO was embodied in adding the INIT, GETVAL, SETVAL, COMMBT, FINISH methods in the protocol, and the results from the interactivity between ILO learners were channeled to the database storage to save them through separately defined data models.

  • According to wide civilian utilization of multi sensor satellite information, practical needs for fusion processing and interoperable operation with multiple remote sensing imageries within distributed remote server are being increased. For this task, OGC standards with respect to satellite images and its derived products are crucial factors. This study is to present an applicability of WPS through testing implementation of image processing algorithm. Open sources such as Geoserver and OTB were used linked to WPS application for implementation. WPS can be solely used for web service supporting geoprocessing algorithm, but technical consideration compromising with other important standard protocols including WMS, WFS, WCS, or WMTS is necessary to build full featured geo web for remote sensing imageries. It is expected that application of these international standards for geo-spatial information is an important approach to produce value-added results by interoperable processing between interorganizations or information dissemination containing practical satellite image processing functionalities.

  • Since the introduction of digital camera to the mass market, the number of digital photos owned by an individual is growing at an alarming rate. This phenomenon naturally leads to the issues of difficulties while searching and browsing in the personal digital photo archive. Traditional approach typically involves content-based image retrieval using computer vision algorithms. However, due to the performance limitations of these algorithms, at least on the casual digital photos taken by non-professional photographers, more recent approaches are centered on time-based clustering algorithms, analyzing the shot times of photos. These time-based clustering algorithms are based on the insight that when these photos are clustered according to the shot-time similarity, we have "event clusters" that will help the user browse through her photo archive. It is also reported that one of the remaining problems with the time-based approach is that people perceive events in different scales. In this paper, we present an adaptive time-based clustering algorithm that exploits the usage history of digital photos in order to infer the user's preference on the event granularity. Experiments show significant performance improvements in the clustering accuracy.

  • Recently the commercial value of GIS(geographic information system) has been increased with growing application demands of spatial information in life space. Also, GIS has been expanded to the integrated information system that provides the ease access to map information by public users and also the combined service of GIS map data and various multimedia contents. But several security problems of GIS map data have brought up at GIS industries, such as the illegal copy and distribution of GIS map data. Furthermore, the copyright protection of GIS map data has not been researched yet compared with image and video contents. This paper presents a polyline based watermarking scheme for the copyright protection of GIS vector map. The proposed scheme analyzes the structure of vector map and embeds adaptively the watermark by using the distance distribution of polyline components. From experimental results, we verified that the proposed scheme satisfies the invisibility and the robustness of geometrical attacks.

  • Jakarta Slide is a WebDAV server developed as one of Apache projects, which supports asynchronous authoring for various contents on the server. Unfortunately, since the WebDAV protocol does not explicitly provide the workspaces for user groups, it is difficult to support complicated collaboration using Jakarta Slide. The CoSlide system is an extension of Jakarta Slide to address this problem, presenting more effective collaborative environment by providing various workspaces for group collaboration. In this paper, we describe the CoJBother Messenger for the CoSlide collaborative system. We developed CoJBother by extending the JBother messenger based on the standard Jabber protocol. To support the users and groups defined on the CoSlide system, we also extended the Jabber protocol. CoJBother shows the information on the CoSlide users and groups in addition to the standard Jabber users and groups. In particular, through CoJBother, the members of a group on CoSlide can initiate group chatting without any administrative overhead.

  • With the growing number of people that use web services, the perception of the importance of securing web applications is also increasing. There are many different types of attacks that target web applications. In the rapidly-changing knowledge and information society, which came into being with the advancements made in information and communication technology, there is currently an urgent need for building web sites for the purposes of developing one's creativity and character. In this paper, attack schemes that use SQL injections and XSS and target educational digital curation systems which provide educational contents with the aim of developing of one's creativity and character are analyze, in terms of how the attacks are carried out and their vulnerabilities. Furthermore, it suggests ways of dealing appropriately with these web-based attacks that use SQL injections and XSS.

  • A Internet user can easily access to the target information by web searching using some key-words or categories in the present Internet environment. When some meta-data which represent attributes of several data structures well are used, then more accurate result which is matched with the intention of users can be provided. This study proposes a multiple dimensional vector tagging method for the small web user group who interest in maintaining and sharing the bookmark for common interesting topics. The proposed method uses vector tag method for increasing the effect of categorization, management, and retrieval of target information. The vector tag composes with two or more components of the user defined priority. The basic vector space is created time of information and reference value. The calculated vector value shows the usability of information and became the metric of ranking. The ranking accuracy of the proposed method compares with that of a simply link structure, The proposed method shows better results for corresponding the intention of users.

  • Digital Signage is a service which displays a variety of information or advertizement on digital display connected with communication network in commercial or public places. In this paper, We present a digital signage software solution named Xibo4u providing personalized advertisement. Xibo4u is composed of a server managing category and contents of advertisement, digital displays showing advertisement based on the categories specific to customers, and a smartphone application which enables customers to designate their favorite categories of advertisement. Xibo4u is developed by extending the Xibo open source software.

  • Recently, the digital signages display not only the rectangular shapes but also the various shapes and sizes. The high-resolution large-screen display monitors have evolved to multi-vision modes in which several screens are connected to one another. In this paper, we present the structure of an atypically shaped signage system in which the ROI changes with the rotation of the multiple displays. The inclination angle of the monitor is calculated by taking the output value of the gyro sensor inter-locked with the Arduino, and an image in which the position of the four corners is varied according to the rotation angle by using the polar coordinate system. In order to display images in the multi-screen environment, multiple displays with a gyro sensor were controlled using serial communication. As the result, we have obtained the flexibly moving monitor systems with associated images fitting in them.

  • The Internet had been taken properties which were both a slow speed and low-bandwidth of the first time. It was impossible to transmit large multimedia data because of a Internet properties. After tens of Year Passed, many people began to transmit multimedia data in the Internet which had fast-speed and high-bandwidth. Some people want to team classes to be taught in school through the Internet. And, educators wish to use multimedia data in the educational field. Due to previous reasons, many parts in the educational field had tried to join real-time objects to multimedia objects. But, real-time data didn’t appear easily due to many faults like network errors and system bugs if we want to control data in order to teach and learn classes. Then, this paper separates real-time and unreal-time data and controls these data that aye made a time scheduler to have time information in the extended SMIL-file for deceasing these faults.
