Analysis of "Understanding of Information Processing" Area in the ICT Textbooks for Elementary Schools (초등학교 정보통신기술 교과서의 "정보 처리의 이해" 영역의 내용 분석 연구)

  • The "Information and Communication Technology Education Guidelines" was revised in December, 2005. However, students are still not taught the contents in the "Information and Communication Technology Education Guidelines Rev." and are not taught the contents in the "Understanding of the Information Processing" area among them in particular. Therefore, we analyzed the contents in the "Understanding of the Information Processing" area of the elementary ICT textbooks published on and after June 2006. In the result, the contents of many textbooks are not based on the "Information and Communication Technology Education Revised Guidelines" and programming languages using elementary school are too many. The revision of the elementary ICT textbooks must be settled without delay and the certification systems of elementary ICT textbooks must be improved.

Comparison between the Contents of 'Management of Resource and Environment' Area in Home Economics Textbook and Those of Other Subject Textbooks of Middle School (중학교 기술$\cdot$가정 교과서의 '자원의 관리와 환경' 영역과 다른 교과의 교육내용 관련성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the content of 'Management of Resource and Environment' area in middle school Home Economics textbook with other middle school subject textbooks. The middle school textbooks of Korean. Mathematics. Social Science. Science. Ethics. Technology. Arts. Music, and Physical Education were analyzed how the contents of these textbooks were similar to or different from those of 'Management of Resource and Environment' area in Home Economics textbooks. The contents of 8 subject textbooks except Music were related with those of 'Management of Resource and Environment' area in Home Economics textbooks. The content of Social Science was the most similar to 'Management of Resource and Environment' area in Home Economics textbooks although perspectives and focus were somewhat different. The unit of Home Economics textbook most related with contents of other subject textbooks was' Our Consumption Lives'. while 'Management of Time and Work for Adolescence' is the unit of Home Economics textbook least related with contents of other subject textbooks. However. similar contents were dealt with different focus and depth in textbooks according to objectives and characteristics of subject.

  • Currently, ICT(Information and Communication Technology) education in elementary school is processed as a discretion class work. Such ICT education needs the research to change to a literacy education. This study is the teachers' recognition about the subject exclusive responsibility of ICT education in elementary school. As a result of a questionnaire, we analyzed that most of the teachers want to change the ICT education as a subject exclusive responsibility. Through these analysis results, this study provided basic data for effective operating of ICT education as the computer education.

  • This study aimed to investigate the validity and appropriate way of career education according to the integration of home economics subjects, as a way of revitalization of career education in technology and home economics subjects, after the implementation of free semester system. For this goal, the meaning and trend of free semester system, trend of subject-integrated career education, analysis of curriculum in technology home economics education subject, and trend of research about career education in home economics were investigated. The result was as in the following. First, in spite of the ambiguity of the meaning of free semester, the career education will be expanded as the importance of lifelong career education was more and more required. Second, the career paths separated from subjects had problem in its effectiveness, therefore, subject-integrated career education emphasizing on school subjects will become more crucial. Third, it was presented that extracting core achievement standard in subject-integrated career education in technology home economics education according to core achievement standard was critical. For these reasons, the objective and model of career education in home economics education under free semester system were illustrated.

4D AI Convergence Education Model (4차원 인공지능 융합 교육 모형)

  • In this study, a model that can converge with artificial intelligence in each subject as software and artificial intelligence education become mandatory in the curriculum revised in 2022 is proposed. The proposed AI convergence education model is based on the content of the subject (accomplishment standard + subject). The second axis is artificial intelligence tools, the third axis is artificial intelligence technology, and the fourth axis is data applied in daily life. In order to apply artificial intelligence to each subject, it is necessary to apply artificial intelligence tools, artificial intelligence technology, and data in daily life to the achievement standards and content of each subject. If the achievement standards and subject contents are structured in this way, it can be seen that the convergence with each subject is good. Therefore, when composing textbooks by achievement standards and topics, it is necessary to add artificial intelligence tools, artificial intelligence technology, and daily data.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the contents of housing area in Technology Home Economics textbooks of the 2007 revised curriculum which was published in 2011. The structure and the contents of housing area which are consisted of housing/living environment and use of housing space were analyzed. This study aims to examine the changes in the newly revised textbooks as well as suggesting advice for the more improved revised one in the future. For this purpose, this study employed 11 different textbooks and the results were the followings: each textbook had different quantity of pages dedicated to housing area but commonly had the wide range of terminology, plentiful amount of tables/diagrams, reading and activity materials sufficient to have students to carry out in practice. Also, the newly added contents of local area and eco-friendly life are analyzed to be well reflecting the 2007 revised curriculum. In future textbook development, it will be important that the issue of low birth rate, population ageing and green-life to be included as well as emphasizing the content of the network within the local area in order to actively prepare for the environmental issues.

  • 정보 통신 기술의 발달은 전산화, 정보화, 지식 정보화 과정을 거쳐 현재 차세대 패더다임인 유비쿼터스화 단계에 이르렀다. 시간과 장소에 구애받지 않고 언제 어디서나 창의적이고 효율적인 학습자 중심의 교육환경을 제공할 수 있는 u-러닝 기술은 7차 교육과정 수행과 함께 필수적인 요소로 부각되고 있다. 최근 교육과정이 u-러닝 환경으로의 변화에 따라 교수 학습 체계 역시 변화가 예상된다. 그리고 ICT를 활용한 교수 학습 모형과 교과별 콘텐츠에 대한 개발이 활발한 이유도 현재 u-러닝이 적극 추진되면서 교육환경에 대한 새로운 요구와 필요성이 증대되고 있기 때문이다. 따라서 교육환경인 u-러닝 시대에 맞추어 교과목에 대한 교수-학습 모형 연구가 이루어 져야 할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 선행 연구된 학습모형을 비교, 분석하여 유비쿼터스와 u-러닝에 대한 특성과 기능, 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술에 대해 고찰한다. 그리고 기존 컴퓨터 교과 분석을 통하여 컴퓨터교과의 중요성과 교육방법 영역, 컴퓨터교과 교수-학습 모형에 대한 연구를 통해 u-러닝 환경에서의 컴퓨터 교육을 위한 프로젝트 기반 교수-학습 모형을 설계하고 구현한다.

Practical Arts(Technology.Home Economics) Textbook Evaluation Criterion based on Perspectives of the National Curriculum (교과 교육과정에 제시된 관점에 근거한 실과(기술.가정) 교과서 평가기준 방향 탐색)

  • Developing textbook evaluation criterion is as important as textbook development in education. Home economics subject has been involved in textbook evaluation since 1995, at which the first home economics textbook was under the national authorization system in South Korea. There has been little research on home economics textbook evaluation criterion even though there were more studies using textbook analysis. The purposes of this study were to explore the reason why subject perspectives were reflected on the textbook evaluation criterion, the relationships between the perspectives presented by national curriculum and technology home economics textbook evaluation criterion, and the future direction for developing textbook evaluation criterion. So this study was related to analyze practical arts(technology home economics) textbook evaluation criterion and the meaning of subject perspectives in textbook evaluation criterion, to drive perspectives consistently presented by the 2007 revised and 2011 revised national curriculum, to analyze the relationships between the perspectives in national curriculum and textbook evaluation criterion, and to provide the future direction for textbook evaluation criterion development. Textbook evaluation criterion is very important because it provides subject perspectives for developing textbook, delivers the core concepts and unique values of our subject, and provides the direction for teacher education. According to the analysis of both national curriculum, the perspectives such as management competency, life competency, practical experience, integrative competency for understanding individual and family, career and life planning, and life problem-solving were presented in this study. Implication for future research would be needed to develop the factors of textbook evaluation criterion based on the perspective presented by national curriculum.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the information technology-related courses offered by the Departments of Library and Information Science. Rapid development of computer and telecommunication technologies has brought many changes in the work environments of libraries as well as librarians functions. Accordingly the Departments of Library and Information Science have been teaching information technology to meet the changing needs of the information environment. This research aims at finding out how the information technology-related courses have been changed, what are the contents of those courses, and what libraries need as for as information technology is concerned.

Development of a Sound Art Programming Course for Non-Majors (비전공자를 위한 사운드 아트 프로그래밍 교과목 개발)

  • This study developed a sound art programming course using pure data to foster computational thinking and convergence of art and technology in college students who are non-computer majors. This paper presents an example of operating a curriculum that designed and developed a sound art-centered music programming subject using Pure Data, derives educational outcomes and improvement measures for classes, and presents a creative convergence education program of technology and art. It has a purpose. For the study, we looked at examples of educational programs that combine art and technology, as well as pure data and sound art, and based on this, we designed and developed a sound art programming course for non-majors. The curriculum was operated based on the developed subjects, and the results showed increased interest in programming through art and technology convergence classes, active class participation through autonomous choice, creation of a new perspective on art, improvement of computational thinking skills, collaboration and communication. The educational effect of ability enhancement was confirmed. We expect that this study will be able to present a new perspective on the convergence education of art and technology, including artistic diversity and understanding of new media according to the development of media.
