The Design of a Wind Speed & Direction Module and a DSP Sensor Interface System for the Meteorological System (기상계측시스템을 위한 풍향.풍속모듈 및 DSP 센서 인터페이스시스템 설계)

  • In this paper, a meteorological system including a wind speed & direction module and the DSP(Digital Signal Processor) sensor interface circuit board are proposed. This DSP system accepts and process the informations from a wind speed & direction module, the atmospheric pressure sensor, the ambient air temperature sensor and transfers it to the PC monitoring system. Especially, a wind speed & direction module and a DSP hardware are directly designed and applied. A wind speed & direction module have a construction that it have four film type RID(Resistive Temperature Detectors) resistive sensor adhered around the circular metal body heated constantly by heating coil for obtaining vector informations about wind. By this structure, the module is enabled precise measurement having a robustness about vibration, humidity, corrosion. A sensor signal processing circuit is using TMS320F2812 TI(Texas Instrument) Corporation high speed DSP. An economical meteorological system could be constructed through the data from wind speed & direction module and by the fast processing of DSP interface circuit board.

Stochastic Daily Weather Generations for Ungaged Stations (기상자료 미계측 지역의 추계학적 기상발생모형)

  • A stochastic weather generator which simulate daily precipitation, maximum and minimum daily temperature, relative humidity was developed. The model parameters were estimated using stochastic characteristics analysis of historical data of 71 weather stations. Spatial variations of the parameters for the country were also analyzed. Model parameters of ungauged Sites were determined from parameters of adjacent weather stations using inverse distance method. The model was verified on Suwon and Ulsan weather stations and showed good agreement between simulated and observed data.

Assessment of Analytical Performance of Open-path Monitoring System: Tests of DOAS System in Relationship with Meteorological Conditions (광투과 관측시스템의 분석기능 평가: 기상인자에 따른 DOAS 시스템의 검정)

  • To evaluate the influence of meteorological conditions on the performance of DOAS (Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy) system, we analyzed the concentrations of three criteria pollutants and relevant environmental parameters measured during 14 month periods between Jun. 1999 and Oct. 2000. According to our study, the performance of DOAS can be sensitively influenced via various manners (such as among different chemicals and/or between different time periods). It turns out that O$_3$ exhibits most frequently the weakest agreement between two systems. When comparison was made among different meteorological parameters, the strongest variability was seen from such ones as windspeed, wind direction, and irradiance. In addition, the absolute differences in measured concentrations between two systems were compared against various environmental parameters by means of linear regression analysis. Results of this analysis indicated that the differences between the two tend to decrease with the increase of such parameters as windspeed. It is thus concluded on the basis of our study that the simultaneous evaluation of meteorological data should be an essential step toward the accurate assessment of pollutant concentration data obtained by DOAS measurement system.

  • 지속되고 있는 기후변화의 영향으로 발생하는 기상현상들이 사회적 문제로 대두되고 있으며, 기후변화에 따른 국지적 극한 사상에 대한 전망은 수자원 활용 계획을 수립하고 대응하는 데 있어 필수적인 요소로 인식되고 있다. 이에 기후, 수문, 지리, 생태 및 환경 등의 다양한 영역에서 신뢰할 수 있는 공간적 강수량의 요구가 증가하고 있지만 지형의 약 70%가 산악 지형인 우리나라의 경우 기존의 일반적 공간보간 기법인 IDW 및 크리깅 방법은 고도가 높은 지역의 기상인자를 추정하는 데 한계가 있는 것으로 평가 받고 있다. 프리즘(Precipitation-Elevation Regressions on Independent Slopes Model, PRISM) 기법은 지형적 특성을 고려한 격자형태의 기상인자를 생산할 수 있는 유용한 방법으로서 미계측 유역에 대한 신뢰할 수 있는 일 단위 강수량 추정을 위하여 SCE-UA (Shuffled Complex Evolution-University of Arizona) 기법을 활용하여 최적화 하였다. 본 연구결과는 PRISM 기법의 국내 적용 시 정확도 향상에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

  • Environmental monitoring analysis were analyzed for the period from 1988 to 2007 near King Sejong Station. Extreme environment structure behaviors(Marine Biology Lab.) were evaluated using monitoring sensors developed commercial sensors. Also when installing the sensors ambient environment of the King Sejong Station, to analyze the measured data and the comparative behavior of the structure were analyzed. As a environmental monitoring analysis result at King Sejong Station temperature, sensors were installed to withstand about $-25.6^{\circ}C$ or less and 49.5m/s. They were needed that the height of 225.0cm or more to be installed during the installation. For several monitoring sensors used in Antarctic, temperature, snow and strong winds were very sensitive to the atmospheric environment. Quite often a camouflage(animals and humans) would make it necessary to provide housing for monitoring sensors. Therefore, protection system developed for these sensors were to protect the sensors and data logger. Protection system the newly developed, is economical, easy to install even in harsh environments. Based on the measurement result of the one year, consider electrode applicability of the protection system, it was confirmed that the behavior of the structure is also predictable.

A Study on the Relationship between Meteorological Condition and Wave Measurement using X-band Radar (X-밴드 레이더 파랑 계측과 기상 상태 연관성 고찰)

  • This paper analyzes wave measurement using X-band navigation (ship) radar, changes in radar signal due to snowfall and precipitation, and factors that obstruct wave measurement. Data obtained from the radar installed at Sokcho Beach were used, and data from the Korea Meteorological Administration and the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency were used for the meteorological data needed for comparative verification. Data from the Korea Meteorological Administration are measured at Sokcho Meteorological Observatory, which is about 7km away from the radar, and data from the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency are measured at a buoy about 3km away from the radar. To this point, changes in radar signals due to rainfall or snowfall have been transmitted empirically, and there is no case of an analysis comparing the results to actual weather data. Therefore, in this paper, precipitation, snowfall data, CCTV, and radar signals from the Korea Meteorological Administration were comprehensively analyzed in time series. As a result, it was confirmed that the wave height measured by the radar according to snowfall and rainfall was reduced compared to the actual wave height, and a decrease in the radar signal strength according to the distance was also confirmed. This paper is meaningful in that it comprehensively analyzes the decrease in the signal strength of radar according to snowfall and rainfall.

A Study on the Improvement of the Rainfall Algorithm of COMS for Flood Risk Monitoring in ungauged Areas (미계측지역 홍수위험 모니터링을 위한 천리안 기상위성 강우 추정 알고리즘 개선 연구)

  • 북한 대부분이 미계측 지역으로서 자연재해 연구의 기초 데이터인 기상정보가 매우 부족한 실정이다. 이러한 지역은 천리안 기상위성 등 원격탐사 기술을 활용하여 재해 모니터링을 하여야한다. 천리안 기상위성은 기상청에서 운영하는 강우 알고리즘을 이용하면서 재해예측 보다는 일반적인 강우 예보에 중점을 두고 있다. 따라서 기상청 강우 알고리즘은 35 mm/hr를 초과하는 강우에 대해서는 탐지를 하지 못하므로 홍수위험 모니터링에 적합하지 않다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 기존의 천리안 강우강도 알고리즘에 GPM 위성 산출물(L3)과 같은 다중센서 자료를 적용하여 홍수유발 강우까지 측정할 수 있는 추정기술을 개발하였다. 개발된 강우 추정기술은 한국의 기상관측지점 94개소 자료와 비교 검증했을 때, 상관계수가 0.6 이상으로 기존의 알고리즘보다 개선된 강우를 추정할 수 있었다. 따라서 기존의 천리안 강우강도 알고리즘에서 추정하지 못했던 집중호우나 태풍의 강우강도를 정확하게 추정할 수 있으므로 미계측 지역의 홍수위험 모니터링에 도움이 될 것이다.

A Rainfall Forecasting Model for the Ungaged Point of Meteorological Data (기상 자료 미계측 지점의 강우 예보 모형)

  • The rainfall forecasting model of the short term is improved at the point where meterological data is not gaged. In this study, the adopted model is based on the assumptions for simulation model of rainfall process, meteorological homogeneousness, prediction and estimation of meteorological data. A Kalman Filter technique is used for rainfall forecasting. In the existing models, the equation of the model is non-linear type with regard to rainfall rate, because hydrometer size distribution (HSD) depends on rainfall intensity. The equation is linearized about rainfall rate as HSD is formulated by the function of the water storage in the cloud. And meteorological input variables are predicted by emprical model. It is applied to the storm events over Taech'ong Dam area. The results show that root mean square error between the forecasted and the observed rainfall intensity is varing from 0.3 to 1.01 mm/hr. It is suggested that the assumptions of this study be reasonable and our model is useful for the short term rainfall forecasting at the ungaged point of the meteorological data.
