This study is to investigate archival use behavior of history teachers in high schools. The study conducted 3 times interviews with high school history teachers and carried out a survey on recognition of archives, archival use, archival seeking behavior, and harrier factors for archival use to 30 teachers from the 2 local communities of history teachers. According to the survey, history teachers have used archives for raising the historical understanding by students in their classes. But the tight curriculums of history and the lack of time to search archives were barrier factors for teachers to use archives in their classes. The teachers who participated in this survey suggested that integrated DBs of archives in Korea and source books with commentaries need to promote use of archives in history classes.

Presidential records which have produced during a presidency as a national center are the evidence of the presidency and main historical records. We have the responsibility to establish fundamental systems to produce such main historical records and to manage such main historical records which could help people and history to judge the presidency based upon the evidence of their activities. The historical appraisal could be achieved not by memory but by evidence. A draft of a proposed law on the management of presidential records which includes the establishment of presidential libraries for the presidential records Mecca is being moored at the National Assembly now. The presidential library is to be considered as a multi-functional national institution which is carrying out the role as an Archives, Museums and Center for the education. In addition, it is imperative for a presidential library to provide user-oriented services to enrich the usability and the value of records, recognizing the change of administration paradigm from a supplier-oriented system to a customer-oriented system. This dissertation, in order to develop presidential library service programs focusing on customers rather than the convenience of administration, reviewed programs of the U.S. presidential libraries as a developed case and proposes guidelines and applicable samples for the development of the Korean presidential library service programs.

Photographic records are very useful and meaningful in the point of view that users can understand those things easily. However, there are few case of digitalizing photographic records, compared to printed records because of high cost and management limitation. The purpose of this study is to provide improvement plan and consideration for digitalizing analog photographic records. To achieve the goals, this study analyzes management status of photographic records in 16 provincial offices. Also, this study performs a case study on digitalization of analog photographic records and implementation of DB relating digitalized photographic records in J provincial office. Based on the results, this study proposes how to digitalize analog photographic records, and manage of digitalized photographic records.

Because of the creation and transfer of born-digital records, file unit-based record description practices have changed fundamentally. In this study, we analyzed the archival description practices of The National Archives (TNA) to maintain intellectual control in the digital records management environment and to support the access to records of users. TNA has created an archival description based on ISAD(G) but, for describing born-digital records, it changed the guideline for descriptive cataloging practices. As the method of ISAD(G) cannot adhere to born-digital records, the next-generation descriptive standard, Records in Contexts (RiC), is still being developed by ICA. In addition to international efforts, we need to build an archival description system that fits our environment, especially because since the year 2000, TNA's online cataloging system has changed and ISAD(G) has been modified in this process. This study also proposed continuous monitoring of digital archival descriptions, provides an integrated approach to analog records and digital content and strengthens experimentation and cooperation toward an uncertain digital future.

With technological and cultural changes around web and mobile networks, SNS would be considered as an important tool for information sharing. Especially, SNS represented Facebook and Twitter is being new paradigm for communication. This study seeks to methods to provide a service user participation and cooperation and expands use and access to archival information service through SNS. To achieve the goals, this study proposed a method to provide effective archival information service through literature research. Metaverse combines the real and virtual worlds to create a world where all experiences and activities in the real world are possible even in the virtual world without time and space constraints. Currently, metaverse technology is expanding and converging into the realms of society, economy, and culture. In particular, the MZ generation, the main user base, is engaged in various cultural activities such as games, contents, culture, exhibitions, and performances in the metaverse world. Archives, one of the cultural institutions, should provide a new type of service by fusion of Archival information services with metaverse technology so that the MZ generation can know the value and meaning of archives. This will arouse the interest of the MZ generation, which will naturally increase the awareness of the archives, increase visits and use, and will serve as an opportunity to expand the user base. Therefore, in this study, the concept, type, and characteristics of each service were examined, and the representative metaverse platform for each service was selected and a platform utilization plan suitable for Archival information services such as exhibition, experience, and publicity was proposed. In addition, by using 'Spatial', a blockchain-based social metaverse platform, to directly produce exhibition contents, we want to check the considerations suggested, the production process, and the advantages of the metaverse exhibition.

The Kim Dae-jung Library is Asia's first presidential library and is a private presidential archive with over 250,000 historical materials. It mainly collects records related to the life of former President Kim Dae-jung, modern and contemporary history, and democratization, While most of the private presidential archives in Korea are operated by memorial foundations, the Kim Dae-jung Library is unique in that a higher education institution operates it. Accordingly, it aims to take an educational role in history and democracy based on records, providing free research space for researchers, and supporting research through records. This report introduces examples of the Kim Dae-jung Library's representative archival information service, an affiliated institution of educational institutions and private presidential archives, and presents the future tasks of the presidential archives.

In this study, evaluation criteria of information services of records centers and archives were prepared. Using those criteria, service evaluation was conducted in three records centers and archives as a case study. By visiting and observing the records centers and archives, current status, weakness, and problems were identified. Identified problems include limited professional staff, lack of policy, systems and reading room facilities, emphasis on retention rather than services, and weak outreach program. This is a preliminary study, and larger scale evaluation is suggested as well as the application of evaluation in other centers and supplementary evaluation criteria.

The purpose of this study is to propose some strategic directions which can promote the government libraries to provide the most effective and efficient information services. The study analyzes user opinion and demand in terms of the Web-based Information Services. For the analysis, the questionnaires were distributed to the 300 users in 18 government libraries. In the results, the study finds that the government libraries with homepage need to advertise homepage service. to provide the training programs, and to improve the system utility for better valuable homepage services. The government libraries without homepage, first of all, must construct their own homepage reflected in the users demand requiring the powerful retrieval ability, the diversity of contents, the high properness of information services.

Christian records are greatly diversified as they are scattered in various institutions inside and outside of the church, which include records of Christian organizations, individuals, and the media. Given this, their management methods also vary. Because of this diversification of methods, it is difficult for people to access and make use of these records. This study aims to develop rules for the archival description of Christian historical records to provide a foundation that will allow users to have an integrated system where they can access all Christian records from different institutions including the church. For this purpose, the rules for archival description of the National Archives of Korea and the Korea Democracy Foundation, and those of the Presbyterian Church in the United States were compared, and from this comparison, features of each institution were identified. Using the features based on ISAD(G) (General International Standard Archival Description) and Christian historical records, the rules for the archival description of Christian historical records were developed.
