After the second world war the vulgar functionalism, which was called as the international style, was developed in the interest of the post capitalistic society. The vulgar functionalism reflected only inhuman commercialism and brought to psycho-mental and social problems. By the result in the mid-sixties the criticism movement of the functionalism had began as a king of the 68-movement in the german architecture and design scene. And it went on in the seventies, and had a decisive influence on the forming of the extended functionalism. The extended functionalism is bases on the definition of functions in the using process of the mass production and consumption society. Those functions, viz. Practical Function, Theoretical Function, Ecological Function, (formal-) Aesthetical Function, Indicating Function, Symbolical Function, have been the core criteria in the analysis and developing phase of the todays' german design scene.

The research has the aim of defining the special characteristics of the functionalist fashion design in the 1900s by understanding the essence of functionalism in the sociocultural contexts. Giving careful consideration to functionalist fashion design in the 1990s makes it possible to foresee the way of fashion design to meet the needs of the modems and men of the future world. To obtain the purposes, documentary study and demonstrative study with fashion photographs have been executed. Main results are as follows. Functionalism in the 1990s has been developed in different ways from the analogies in the beginning of the 20th century. It doesn't belong to an analogy but has the fused characteristics. It can be classified into techno functionalism influenced by new technology Pure functionalism related to minimalism. casual functionalism for those who are crazy about the speed and sports and enjoy the freedom and comfort and symbolic functionalism. Mechanical analogy has been developed into techno functionalism. Pure functionalism has come from the blend of mechanical and moral analogy, casual functionalism from mechanical. organic and moral analogy. and symbolic functionalism from organic and moral analogy. Since fashion design has much closer relation to human body and movements. it has been expressed considering a division of men and women and the places and times for the designs more than other designs. More casual manners of formal wear are distinct elements in functionalist fashion design in the 1990s. The 20th century general cultural phenomena including post modernism can be explained by eclectic functionalism. Functionalism considering Practical and conceptional functions ill continue and techno functionalism and casual functionalism in future fashion design will be expressed more strongly with new technology and casual trends of life style.

This research focuses on functionalism in American fashion designs which have become the center of public attention in recent. First, documentary studies about how functionalism, which originated in Europe in the beginning of the 20th century, has been developed throughout the 20th century were preceded Second, content analysis was done for the articles, including the word ‘unction’,‘utility’ and ‘practical’in the New York Times and American Vogue from January 1990 to January 2001. As a result, functionalism in 1990s has been developed in different ways from the mechanical, organic, and mea analogies of functionalism in the beginning of 20th century. It doesn't belong to an analogy but has the fused characteristics of those three analogies. It can be classified into techno functionalism influenced by new technology, pure functionalism related to minimalism, sports casual functionalism for those who are crazy about the speed and sports and enjoy the freedom and comfort, and symbolic functionalism which stresses Zen style. More casual manners of formal wear are distinct elements in functionalist fashion design in 1990s. It leads to strong expressions of sports casual functionalism, which plays a great role in sportswear industry of American fashion design. The American fashion designers who were mentioned often in the articles were Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Ralph lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. As well as their works have common formative features based on functionalism, each of them shows his/her own strung color. A]1 of these designers make American fashion design, which can be defined as casual wear or sportswear, very popular worldwide based on the developed American functionalism. Functionalism considering practical and conceptional functions will continue in coming century and techno functionalism and sports casual functionalism in future fashion designs wilt be expressed more strongly with new technology and casual trends of life style.

LED 소재의 발전은 기존의 전구식 등명기를 LED 등명기로 전환시키는 중요한 요인이었다. 기술의 발전은 이러한 소재 뿐만 아니라 다양한 분야에서 급속하게 발전을 이루어가고 있으며, 특히 통신관련 기술의 비약적인 발전은 기존의 단순한 기능의 제품에 융복합 기능을 제공함으로서 기존의 제품과는 차별된 기능을 갖는 새로운 기능의 제품으로 거듭나게 되었다. 이러한 융복합 기술을 항로표지에도 적용함으로서 기존에 제공하던 기본적인 항로표지 기능 외에 더 많은 기능을 제공하여, 유지관리의 편리성뿐만 아니라 통신의 발달에 따른 새로운 서비스를 제공하는 복합기능의 항로표지로 거듭날 수 있도록 다각적으로 고찰해 보도록 한다.

The purpose of this study is to identify characteristic of Swedish craft and modern design in especially furniture and interior design through the philosophy and humanitarian functionalism of Svenskt Tenn. The study completed through researching what the design paradigm of architecture and furniture design in those days was, and theoretically analyzing how this unique brand became a leading modern Swedish style in the European stream of functionalism design. Working upon this research, the study concludes the concept of the humanitarian functionalism design what Firma Svenskt Tenn wanted to realize through analyzing the aspects of form and material of Josef Frank' works who mainly contributed to form the Svenskt Tenn's unique design identity and comparing them to the other design examples of those days. The result are as follows: 1) Organic composition of space and elements, styles and functions, 2) Unique space composition of amalgamation, 3) Open space with abstract patterns, 4) Furniture shapes of displaying space environment, 5) Overcoming the limits of pragmatic functionalism based on rationalism.

본 연구는 복직근의 기능적 전기자극이 경직형 뇌성마비 아동의 1회 호흡용적과 폐활량 등의 호흡능력과 복직근의 근육활동에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해서 대구 시내 OO특수학교에 재학 중인 14세 이상 16세 미만의 경직형 사지 뇌성마비 아동 6명(남자 3, 여자 3)을 대상으로 하여 복직근에 1회 20분. 주 3회씩 총 6주간 기능적 전기자극을 적용하였다. 기능적 전기자극의 적용 6주 전과, 직전에 두 번의 사전 검사와 적용 후 사후 검사를 실시하였다. MP30(Biopack, USA)을 이용하여 폐활량과 예측치 폐활량 백분율, 1회 호흡용적을 검사하였으며 Table면전극 근전도(Noraxon, USA)를 이용하여 복직근의 근육 활동량을 측정하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 복직근의 기능적 전기자극 적용 6주 전과 직전의 폐활량은 유의한 차이가 없었으나, 적용 후의 폐활량은 적용 전에 비해 유의한 증가를 나타내었다(p<0.05). 2. 복직근의 기능적 전기자극 적용 6주 전과 직전의 예측치 폐활량 백분율은 유의한 차이가 없었으나, 적용 후의 예측치 폐활량 백분율은 적용 전에 비해 유의한 증가를 나타내었다(p<0.05). 3. 복직근의 기능적 전기자극 적용 6주 전과 직전의 1회 호흡용적은 유의한 차이가 없었으나, 적용 후의 1회 호흡용적은 적용 전에 비해 유의한 증가를 나타내었다(p<0.05). 4. 복직근의 기능적 전기자극 적용 6주 전과 직전의 복직근의 활동 값은 유의한 차이가 없었으나 적용 후의 복직근의 활동 값은 적용 전에 비해 유의한 증가를 나타내었다(p<0.05). 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때 6주간의 복직근의 기능적 전기자극이 경직형 뇌성마비 아동에 있어서 복직근의 근력을 강화시킴으로써 폐활량과 1회 호흡 용적 등의 호흡능력을 향상시킴을 확인할 수 있었다.

이 논문에서는 MPEG-21 환경에서의 툴 서버의 역할과 기능을 제안한다. MPEG-21의 목적은 멀티미디어 콘텐츠의 전자적 생성, 배포, 거래를 투명하게 이용할 수 있게 하여 상호 운용 가능한 멀티미디어 프레임워크를 제공하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. MPEG-21을 구성하는 주 요소로서 DIP(Digital Item Processing)과 DIA(Digital Item Adaptation)이 있다. DIP는 디지털 리소스에 메타 데이터 정보를 구조화하여 표현할 수 있는 DI(Digital Item)를 생성하고 소비하는 기능을 가진다. DIA는 사용자가 터미널 또는 네트워크 특성에 맞게 고유의 DI를 적응시켜서 보내주는 기능을 한다. 툴 서버(Tool server)는 DIP 또는 DIA로부터 필요로 하는 소프트웨어 툴을 검색하여 적합한 툴을 제공해 주는 기능을 한다. DIA가 DI 자체를 사용자 요구에 맞게 적응시켜 소비시켜 주는 일을 한다면 툴 서버는 터미널 환경에 맞추어 DI를 소비하는데 적합한 툴을 찾아서 구동시켜 주는 기능을 한다. 본 논문에서는 DIP와 DIA에서 사용되는 툴 서버에 대한 역할과 기능을 제안한다. 이 논문은 다음과 같이 구성된다. 1장에서 MPEG-21 환경에서 툴 서버의 필요성과 역할을 알아본다. 그리고 2장에서는 툴 서버의 구조와 각 모듈별 기능을 살펴본다. 3장에서는 툴 서버를 DIP와 연동했을 때 시나리오를 설명한다. 마지막 4장에서 결론을 맺는다.

지난 9월 노동부와 한국산업인력공단은 '이달의 기능한국인'으로 (주)도암엔지니어링 오관준 대표를 선정했다. 1980년 방직공장의 보조 전기기사로 시작하여 전기분야에서 30여 년간 한 우물을 파며 자신의 기업을 제주도 최고의 전기종합업체로 키워낸 장본인이다. 오 대표는 자신의 30여 년 기능인으로서의 삶을 보람된 일도 많았지만 무엇보다 '고되고 힘들었다'고 표현했다. 기능한국인으로서의 기쁨보다는 그의 머릿속에는 오로지 사회전반으로 기능인을 활성화 시켜줬으면 하는 바람으로 꽉 들어차 있다.

유신체제에서 제5공화국에 이르는 권위주의 체제하에서 한국출판은 정치.사회적 상황에 대한 감시 역할을 담당하고 비판적 담론을 형성하는 언론 기능를 수행했다. 해직기자.해직교수.제적학생 등 비판적 지식인이 출판계로 유입되면서 인적.질적 구조변동이 일어나고 한국출판의 뉴저널리즘의 기능이 강화됐다.
