Verification of Indicator Rotation Correction Function of a Treatment Planning Program for Stereotactic Radiosurgery (방사선수술치료계획 프로그램의 지시자 회전 오차 교정 기능 점검)

  • Objective: This study analyzed errors due to rotation or tilt of the magnetic resonance (MR) imaging indicator during image acquisition for a stereotactic radiosurgery. The error correction procedure of a commercially available stereotactic neurosurgery treatment planning program has been verified. Materials and Methods: Software virtual phantoms were built with stereotactic images generated by a commercial programming language, Interactive Data Language (version 5.5). The thickness of an image slice was 0.5 mm, pixel size was $0.5{\times}0.5mm$, field of view was 256 mm, and image resolution was $512{\times}512$. The images were generated under the DICOM 3.0 standard in order to be used with Leksell GammaPlan$^{(R)}$. For the verification of the rotation error correction function of Leksell GammaPlan$^{(R)}$, 45 measurement points were arranged in five axial planes. On each axial plane, there were nine measurement points along a square of length 100 mm. The center of the square was located on the z-axis and a measurement point was on the z-axis, too. Five axial planes were placed at z=-50.0, -30.0, 0.0, 30.0, 50.0 mm, respectively. The virtual phantom was rotated by $3^{\circ}$ around one of x, y, and z-axis. It was also rotated by $3^{\circ}$ around two axes of x, y, and z-axis, and rotated by $3^{\circ}$ along all three axes. The errors in the position of rotated measurement points were measured with Leksell GammaPlan$^{(R)}$ and the correction function was verified. Results: The image registration errors of the virtual phantom images was $0.1{\pm}0.1mm$ and it was within the requirement of stereotactic images. The maximum theoretical errors in position of measurement points were 2.6 mm for a rotation around one axis, 3.7 mm for a rotation around two axes, and 4.5 mm for a rotation around three axes. The measured errors in position was $0.1{\pm}0.1mm$ for a rotation around single axis, $0.2{\pm}0.2mm$ for double and triple axes. These small errors verified that the rotation error correction function of Leksell GammaPlan$^{(R)}$ is working fine. Conclusion: A virtual phantom was built to verify software functions of stereotactic neurosurgery treatment planning program. The error correction function of a commercial treatment planning program worked within nominal error range. The virtual phantom of this study can be applied in many other fields to verify various functions of treatment planning programs.

Change in Concepts and Status of Park and Green Space in Urban Planning Documents of Gyeongseong (경성부 도시계획서 상의 공원녹지 개념과 현황의 변화 양상)

  • The study examines the significance and limits of modern park planning by analyzing major planning documents of Gyeongseong in the Japanese colonial era. Among seven selected documents from 1925 to 1940, which show the contents related with park planning, documents of 1930 and 1940 presented the official park plan of Gyeongseong. By the 1920s, the park plan was not a major concern in urban planning of Gyeongseong; however, as the planning law as enacted in 1934, the park plan legally became a part of the official master planning process in the 1930s. In 1940, the most comprehensive park plan for Gyeongseong was published. In the beginning of modern urban planning, a park was mainly perceived as a sanitation utility. From the 1920s to the 1930s, the park planning system was significantly improved including systemic classification of parks, guideline development considering spatial planning, and introduction of a concept of infra-structural green space. Despite of the improvement in the park planning, the actual quantity of the overall green spaces barely changed and there was a huge discrepancy between the planning ideal and the reality. The Gyeongseong stadium was the only facility newly built in the 1920s, and only two parks were constructed in the 1930s. The plan to build 38 new parks in the 1930, and 140 in the 1940 was barely realized. However, there were efforts to improve parks and green spaces of Gyeongseong: Such as appropriating natural forest as parks, designating royal palaces as parks, and focusing on constructing smaller scale children's parks. Even though the ideal plan could not be fully implemented due to the war time situation and tight budget, the park system of Gyeongseong provided the framework of park planning of Seoul after the independence.

Trend Analysis of Foreign Academic Libraries' Development Plan (해외 대학도서관 발전계획 동향 분석)

  • The academic library development plan has external importance as it explicitly declares the library's role and development direction. Internally, it is also a library service guideline. To develop the development plan, libraries must understand the trends and needs of international, national, and affiliating universities and their constituents. Accordingly, this research includes case, content, and network analyses of foreign academic libraries' development plans to identify the trends. The analysis results show most foreign academic libraries employed various strategies and plans, which can be characterized as 'collaboration,' 'collection development,' and 'research support.' Consequently, we propose the following factors to consider when developing an academic library development plan: specification of mission, vision, and core values; recognition of core values such as diversity, equity, and inclusion; awareness of the significance of collaboration and partnership with other units within the universities and external organizations; and utilization of university library development plans as tools for achieving management objectives.

A Multi-agent System based on Genetic Algorithm for Integration Planning in a Supply Chain Management (유전 알고리즘에 기반한 동적 공급사슬 통합계획을 위한 멀티 에이전트 시스템)

  • In SCM (supply chain management), companies are pursuing a new approach through which overall functions within the supply chain, ranging from material purchase to production, distribution, and sales are designed, planned, and managed in an integrated way. The core functions among them are production planning and distribution planning. As these problems are mutually related, they should be dealt with simultaneously in an integrated manner. SCM is large-scale and multi-stage problems. Also, its various kinds of internal or external factors can, at any time, dynamically bring a change to the existing plan or situation. Recently, many enterprises are moving toward an open architecture for integrating their activities with their suppliers, customers and other partners within the supply chain. Agent-based technology provides an effective approach in such environments. Multi-agent systems have been proven suitable to represent domains such as supply chain networks which involve interactions among manufacturing organization, their customers, suppliers, etc. with different individual goals and propriety information. In this paper, we propose a multi-agent system based on the genetic algorithm that make it possible to integrate the production and distribution planning on a real-time basis in SCM. The proposed genetic algorithm produced near optimal solution and we checked that there is a great difference in the results between integrated planning and non-integrated planning.

  • Although rural areas account for more than 80% of the total land area of South Korea, most of them are deteriorated and living environment is inconvenient. In addition, the migration of young generation to urban areas and ageing have reduced the population and caused not only cavitation phenomena of villages but also stagnant communities. As for one of the rural areas, the seat of Myeon Office located in Oesan-myeon, Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, this study presented not a plan only for strengthening hub functions but the methodology of the complex development plan in consideration of the regional characteristics in the comprehensive improvement project in seat of Myeon Office. From the perspective of enhancing the function of the seat of Myeon Office, it is inevitable to establish plans based on hardware. However, empowerment of the residents in the targeted areas also works as an important factor. In other words, each project promoted by the plan will be mainly operated by the local residents. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a management system of this. The success or failure of the established plan is based on the accurate survey of the issues of the targeted areas and demand, and this depends on participation and positive response of the residents of the targeted areas. That is, the method as a 'local community network' is required in order to increase the effect of resident participation in the planning area.

A Decision-support System for Care Plan in Long-term Care Insurance (의사결정나무기법을 활용한 노인장기요양보험 표준급여모형 개발)

  • National Health Insurance Service(NHIS) provide care-plans for beneficiaries in the long-term care insurance(LTCI) systems that help them use LTC services appropriately. The care-plan includes recommendations for the most adequate type of care (gold standard) for beneficiaries. This study develops a decision-support system to determine the appropriate type of care plan. To develop a model, we used a data set that well-trained assessors in the NHIS investigated as a gold standard for beneficiaries: nursing home care, home-visit care, home-visit bathing, home-visit nursing, or day and night care. The decision-support system was established through a decision-tree model, because it may be easy to explain the algorithm of a decision-support system to working groups and policy makers. Our results might be useful in evidence-based care planning in an LTCI system and contribute to the efficient use of LTC services.

Analysis on the Differences of Point of View between Architect and Urban Planner on the Evaluation of International Urban Design Competition (국제설계경기 평가에서 건축가와 도시계획가의 관점차이 분석)

  • During the development process of mega-project, individual buildings including skyscrapers are built following the master plan. It is not a difficult thing to see the gap of standpoint between the urban planners and architects on the project. This study aims to analyze the difference between architect and urban planner's point of view in evaluating international design competition works which the internationally distinguished honorable design companies(SOM, Jerde Partnership, Studio Daniel Libeskind, Foster+Partners and Asymptote Architecture) submitted as the ideas of Yongsan International Business District Design. Furthermore, we made an attempt to quantify the weight of each factors of urban design by each group. Architect and urban planner's viewpoint were revealed with seven architects and seven urban planners evaluating the international design competition works through AHP(Analytical Hierarchy Process). AHP structure was made of two step hierarchy in terms of Master Plan and Landmark Tower. Eight evaluation criteria were set up such as the concept, land use, transportation, feasibility of Master Plan and the concept, location, functional efficiency and aesthetic beauty of Landmark Tower. Results show that Architect have different point of view from that of urban planner. While the architect's weight of evaluation criteria is on the Landmark Tower(0.505), urban planner's weight is on Master Plan(0.642). Feasibility, the location of Landmark Tower and land-use are very important evaluation criteria to architect and urban planner in common. Functional efficiency of Landmark Tower is in architect's favour and transportation is in urban planner.

  • 작년의 전반적인 경기 불황으로 인해 제과점의 경영이 어려움을 겪은 한해였다. 올해도 작년에 비해 그다지 좋아지리라고 보지 않는 것이 일반적인 견해이고 보면 앞으로 제과점의 현실은 더욱 어려워질 것으로 예상된다. 본지가 조사한 올해의 경기전망에 대한 설문조사를 봐도 제과점이 거는 기대는 매우 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 각 제과점마다 제품력을 강화시키고 이벤트나 시식회 등의 행사를 계획하는 등 어려움을 극복하고자 하는 의지를 설문조사를 통해 알 수 있었다. 이에 본지는 1996년 새해의 출발을 다지는 의미에서 제과업계 최고의 기술인인 6명의 기능장을 중심으로 제과점 매출향상을 위한 실용 제품을 특집으로 구성했다. 제품기술력뿐 아니라 공장의 생산성과 소비자 욕구 등을 고려한 다양한 제품으로 엮은 이번 특집이 제과점의 경연 난 타개책으로 도움이 되길 바란다.

  • 전자해도시스템은 2012년 7월 1일 부로 국제항해에 종사하는 선박에 단계별로 설치가 강제화 되었다. 전자해도시스템은 백업장치를 갖춘다면 종이해도를 대체하여 사용할 수 있는 설비로 선교에서 사용의존도가 높은 핵심항해설비라고 할 수 있다. 현재 전자해도 시스템 이용 시 전 세계적으로 다양한 오류가 발생하고 있으며, 국제해사기구에서도 문제를 인식하고 오류해결을 위한 방안을 모색하고 있는 중이다. 본 논문에서는 사용자들을 대상으로 전자해도시스템의 기능 이용 시의 오류 및 문제점에 대한 사항을 설문을 통해 조사 분석하고 기능에 대한 개선사항에 대하여 연구하였다.

  • 대부분의 의료 영상 관리 시스템이 의료 영상의 저장, 전송 등의 기본적인 기능만 지원될 뿐 상위 응용 계층에서 내용기반 검색이 지원되지 않고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 위해 내용 기반 검색 기능을 지원하는 의료 영상 검색 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. 의료 영상 검색 시스템은 질의 이미지의 내용기반 검색을 위해 색-공간, 질감, 모양 특징에 의한 유사 비교 기법을 사용하고 각각의 유사 비교 검색에 의해 생성된 결과 집합들을 통할하고 최종 결과 제시를 위해 복합 질의문 계획 생성 알고리즘을 제시한다.
