  • 선박의 추진축은 선박의 기관실 최말단부에서 바깥의 프로펠러까지 선체를 관통하여 설치되고 회전하기 때문에 선외로부터의 해수유입을 쳐대한 차단하는 역할을 하는 독특한 메커니즘을 가진 축밀봉장치(Shaft Sealing System)를 필요로 하는데 이것을 스턴튜브 씰(Stem Tube Seal)이라고 한다. 본 연구는 국내 중소형 선사들이 저렴한 가격대비 우수 품질의 씰 및 하우징을 사용할 수 있고 3차원 형상화를 통하여 선박의 운용자가 쉽고 정확하게 스턴튜브 씰을 이해 및 신속 정비가능, 해외업체 생산 규격을 선박 축에 맞게 절단, 접합의 씰 성능저하 관행을 고쳐 선주가 원하는 사양과 규격대로 제작된 우수한 씰 제품을 공급할 수 있고, 선박용 기자재에 대한 기초지식, 씰링 메카니즘, 구조 및 유동 해석 결과를 제공하여 국내 최초의 무접착 원형 메인 씰 개발 및 씰 하우징 제작 및 독자설계 기술을 확립하고자 한다.

Dosimetric Comparison of Radiation Treatment Techniques for Breast Cancer : 3D-CRT, IMRT and VMAT (유방암 방사선치료 기법에 따른 선량 비교 : 3차원 입체조형치료, 세기 변조 방사선치료, 입체세기조절회전 방사선치료)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare method in the treatment of breast cancer using dose index. And, it is to find the optimized treatment technique to the patient. The phantom filled with tissue-equivalent material were used simulation and treatment as techniques of 3D-CRT, IMRT, VMAT was planned using Eclipse v10. By using HI(homogeneity index), CI(Conformity index), OED(Organ equivalent dose), EAR(Excess Absolute Risk), were assessed for each treatment plans. HI and CI of 3D-CRT, IMRT, VMAT were calculated 16.89, 11.21, 9.55 and 0.59, 0.61, 0.83. The organ average doses of Lt lung, Rt lung, liver, heart, esophagus, cord, Lt breast, trachea and stomach were 0.01 ~ 2.02 Gy, 0.36 ~ 5.01 Gy, 0.25 ~ 2.49 Gy, 0.14 ~ 6.92 Gy, 0.03 ~ 2.02 Gy, 0.01 ~ 1.06 Gy, 0.25 ~ 6.08 Gy, 0.08 ~ 0.59 Gy, 0.01 ~ 1.34 Gy, respectively. The OED, EAR of the IMRT and VMAT show higher than 3D-CRT. As the result of this study, we could confirm being higher dose index(HI, CI) in IMRT and VMAT than 3D-CRT, but doses of around normal organs was higher IMRT, VMAT than 3D-CRT.

  • The auxiliary power unit (APU) of a rotorcraft starts the engine during operation/flying. The APU is composed of a gas turbine engine type. The starting principle of the component is that the electric start motor generates the power required for starting by rotating the shaft. In this study, quality improvement was performed by applying an over-running clutch (ORC) between the APU and the starter motor to secure the operability of the starter motor of the APU mounted on the rotorcraft. The starter motor has the main role of starting the APU, but during operation, it is rotated without load by the rotational force of the APU gear shaft, resulting in friction at the brush. This phenomenon causes abrasion of the brush of the starter motor. Consequently, when the APU operation time increases, the brush life decreases, and the operability of the APU is affected. In this study, an ORC that separates the interlocking between the start motor brush abrasion and the APU operation time was applied to improve the operability/durability of the APU starter motor. The effect was verified through a test, and the technical feasibility of the design change was analyzed.

The Determination of Optimum Beam Position and Size in Radiation Treatment (방사선치료시 최적의 빔 위치와 크기 결정)

  • New method about the dose optimization problem in radiation treatment was researched. Since all conditions are more complex and there are more relevant variables, the solution of three-dimensional treatment planning is much more complicate than that of current two-dimensional one. There(ore, in this study, as a method to solve three-dimensional dose optimization problem, the considered variables was minized and researched by reducing the domain that solutions can exist and pre-determining the important beam parameters. First, the dangerous beam range that passes critical organ was found by coordinate transformation between linear accelerator coordinate and patient coordinate. And the beam size and rotation angle for rectangular collimator that conform tumor at arbitrary beam position was also determined. As a result, the available beam position could be reduced and the dependency on beam size and rotation angle, that is very important parameter in treatment planning, totally removed. Therefore, the resultant combinations of relevant variables could be greatly reduced and the dose optimization by objective function can be done with minimum variables. From the above results, the dose optimization problem was solved for the two-dimensional radiation treatment planning useful in clinic. The objective function was made by combination of dose gradient, critical organ dose and dose homogeniety. And the optimum variables were determined by applying step search method to objective function. From the dose distributions by optimum variables, the merit of new dose optimization method was verified and it can be implemented on commercial radiation treatment planning system with further research.

  • Electric pump system is new technology for next generation propulsion unit. The system has simple structure which dose not need gas generator, injector and turbine and might better pump for low cost and low payload rocket. Therefore, this paper suggests conceptual design of electric-pump Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) which has 50 kW & 50,000 RPM for rocket. To satisfy the system's requirement, electromagnetic analysis is conducted for suitable inner and outer diameter of stator and rotor which uses 4000 Gauss cylinder magnet and Inconel 718 can to fix whole rotor. Futhermore, to confirm rotational vibration, rotordynamics analysis is conducted. By this analysis, Campbell diagram is printed. From the diagram, natural frequency could be determined for the only motor and dynamo meter test bench.

  • Doppler log and current meter are based on the measurment of the doppler effect. Ship's speed over the ground measured by means of doppler log effect of underwater ultrasonic intends to get infulence by the difference of sound velocity, the ship's course, the sea bottom inclination, the trim and tranducer installation etc. This paper investigated on the error of speed over the ground by change of the trim comparing the real speed obtained by the mile post with the speed of single beam type doppler log on the trainning ship Kyeongyangho. The results are as follows ; 1. Indicating speed of doppler log is very much greatly influenced on variation of trim, but the real speed is less affected variation by trim. 2. The range of variation and error of speed over ground are smallest when ship's trim is 2.15m trim by the stern.

  • In the SI engine, the improvement of combustion stability is important not only for the fuel consumption rate but also for the emission control at idling of engine. Thus the engine speed fluctuation at idle operation mainly comes from cyclic variation of combustion in the SI engine. In this syudy, the improvement of combustion stability for the SI engine at idle condition by the cooling water temperature, duty ratio of ISC, spark ignition timing as well as the reducement of the harmful exhaust gas emission was discussed.

  • 오늘날 반도체 기술의 획기적인 발전에 의해서 마침내 에디슨의 탄소 필라멘트 백열전구를 대체할 수 있는 "반도체 필라멘트"라 불리는 고출력 백색 LED (lighting emitting diode)가 차세대 조명광원으로 급부상하고 있다. 백색LED를 생산하기 위한 공정에서 MOCVD (유기금속화학증착)장비를 이용한 공정은 기판의 온도 균일도를 향상시키는 것이 매우 중요하다. 균일한 기판 온도를 갖기 위한 조건으로 기판과 induction heater의 간격, 가스의 흐름, 기판의 회전, 유도가열코일의 디자인 둥이 장비의 설계 요소이다. 본 연구에서는 기관과 induction heater의 간격에 따른 온도를 thermal imaging camera (Fluke, Ti-10)을 이용하여 측정하였다.

Effect of Changing the Intake Air Temperature in a Marine Diesel Engine on the Characteristics of Exhaust Gas Emission (선박 디젤기관의 배기배출물 특성이 흡기 온도변화에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, global climate change caused by greenhouse gases has emerged as a significant air-environmental problem. Technical innovation in response to this phenomenon is ongoing, with an emphasis on the environmental impacts of unusually high temperatures and unexpected heavy rainfall. In this study, we investigated the effects of temperature change on air pollution for a concomitant rapid temperature increase. The test conditions include loading from 0 % to 100 % at 1400 rpm, 1600 rpm, and 1800 rpm for a change in the intake air temperature of a marine diesel engine from 20 ℃ to 50 ℃. The experimental results revealed that CO and HC decreased slightly, whereas the brake specific fuel consumption, NOx, and PM increased slightly when the intake air temperature changed. In addition, it was determined that the combustion temperature did not change significantly.

An Experimental Study on Engine Performance of LPG/Gasoline Bi-Fuel (LPG/가솔린 Bi-Fuel 엔진성능에 관한 실험적 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how the ignition spark timing conversion influences the engine performance of LPG/Gasoline Bi-Fuel engine. We propose the control system which can advance the ignition spark timing in LPG fuel mode more than used in gasoline fuel mode. In order to investigate the engine performance during combustion, engine performance are sampled by data acquisition system, for example cylinder pressure, pressure rise rate and heat release rate, while change of the rpm(1500, 2000) and the ignition timing advance($5^{\circ}$,$10^{\circ}$,$15^{\circ}$,$20^{\circ}$) As the result, between 1500rpm and 2000rpm, the cylinder pressure and pressure rise rate was increased when the spark ignition was advanced but pressure rise rate at $20^{\circ}$was smaller value. Also, the heat release rate at 1500rpm was increased but it was lower around $20^{\circ}$at 2000rpm.
