국내 대학 리포지토리 환경에 맞는 운영 방안을 제안하기 위해서, 첫째는 기관 리포지토리 구현에 필요한 여섯가지 요소를 리포지토리 구현에 필요한 체크리스트들을 참조하여 추출하였다. 둘째는 추출된 여섯가지 요소들을 기초로 하여 국내외 기관 리포지토리 현황을 참조하여 최종적으로 운영체제의 틀을 완성하였다.

해외 대학의 8개 기관 리포지토리를 대상으로 콘텐츠, 운영주체와 협력조직 등 11개 요인을 중심으로 운영 현황과 문제점을 직접 방문, 홈페이지 등을 이용하여 분석해 보고, 데이터 제공자와 서비스 제공자간의 관계를 다룬 자료도 분석해 보았다. 이러한 분석 결과는 기관 리포지토리를 앞으로 구축할 계획이거나 또는 구축된 리포지토리를 활성화시키기를 원하는 기관의 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

학술기관 리포지토리 활성화를 위한 방안을 찾기 위해 대학도서관의 리포지토리 현황조사를 두가지 측면에서 실시하였다. 온라인상에서 리포지토리 현환조사와 오프라인 상태에서 7개 대학도서관을 대상으로 담당자의 인터뷰와 설문지를 통한 사례연구이다. 그 결과 나타나는 문제점을 직시하고 그 대안을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the metadata elements of institutional repository using DSpace and to provide the directions and strategies for constructing metadata. To the end, discussed in details are (1) understanding the background of development, features, elements of metadata, (2) figuring out the common metadata elements and the differentiated metadata elements for the institutional repository, (3) examining the search methods, search elements, and display elements of the insitutional repository, and (4) based on theses, suggested are directions and strategies for metadata of institutional repository using DSpace. The research methods were used such as literature review, the analysis of 4 domestic institutional repository.

To improve the dCollection system, it is suggested that the usability tests of the dCollection system are needed to find out whether submitters or IR managers are satisfied with the system or not. For the usability evaluations, we used sixty participants, thirty for its management module and thirty for its submit and retrieval modules and for its test constructed the five evaluation indicators including architectural/visual clarity and effectiveness. Based on the results of the usability tests, some improvements in terms of supportiveness, usefulness and visual clarity were suggested.

기관 리포지토리에 대한 개념적 평가모형을 개발하기 위하여 국내외 기관 리포지토리에 대한 문헌연구를 통하여 평가요소를 도출하였으며, 도출된 평가 요소들이 도서관 업무 현장에서의 적용가능성과 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 전국 7개 대학도서관을 대상으로 사례연구를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 4개 평가영역과 29개 평가지표로 구성된 평가모형을 개발하였다.

Building institutional repositories is known as one of powerful methods for realizing the open access movement. The Korean Education and Research Information Service(KERIS) proposed to organize institutional repositories into a consortium, called 'dCollection (Digital Collection),' composed of 62 universities since 2003. The purpose of this study is to investigate the current state of 40 member universities of dCollection using the evaluation model including 4 categories and 39 indicators , and, based on the survey outcomes, to pinpoint the procedural or performance weak points of the dCollection systems in order to find its customized solutions focusing on the improvement of use and self-archiving rates.

The purpose of the study is to implement the management model of the institutional repositories for the efficient distribution infrastructure of national knowledge focusing on the dCollection system which is operated by KERIS (service provider). In order to build the management model, the two steps were utilized. The first step is to investigate the checklists of repositories that are important factors for the successful repository implementation through literature review. On the other hand, the second one is to survey the current status of the sixteen domestic and foreign institutional repositories through interviews, surveys and email as well as the repository home pages and literature reviews. Through the two steps, the management model including six components such as content and librarian role was proposed. The proposed management model will be utilized to supply guides both to the universities which plan to build their institutional repositories and to the universities which try to promote the activities of their repositories.

In this study, we propose a model for constructing a producer-centered self-publishing repository for the personal digital records and three operational process for practical application of the operational model. 1) As essential requirements for constructing a DSpace-based self-publishing repository, we propose producer-centered service provision, management subject, operation and management plan, how to activate the repository of digital personal records producers, copyright issues, development and dissemination process. 2) The repository model constructs a producer-centered circular structure considering these requirements. 3) Through a repository model with multiple agencies, it provides various services such as content distribution, keyword search, usage statistics, recommendation system, and open access to portal users and electronic publishers as well as individual users.

This study endeavors to delineate the essential components of digital preservation policies requisite for data repositories. Drawing from an examination of digital preservation policies from data repositories accredited by CoreTrustSeal in 2023, this study unveils the pivotal components intrinsic to a digital preservation policy framework, subsequently elucidating the content each component encompasses. The proffered framework is anticipated to serve as a foundational reference for institutions aiming to craft their digital preservation policies, transcending the confines of those solely pursuing CoreTrustSeal certification, to encompass both domestic and international institutions irrespective of their intent to seek CoreTrustSeal certification.
