  • This study examined the influence of viewing motivation of the Korean wave video content on viewing attitude, national image of Korea, and behavioral intention among users of the Chinese online video platform, 'bilibili.' Using an online questionnaire, a total of 355 copies were collected. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The findings indicate that the four items of viewing motivation (i.e., entertainment, information, relationships, and vicarious satisfaction) exerted a positive impact on the viewing attitude, while real-time discussion showed no significant impact on it. In addition, viewing attitude exerted a significant positive impact on the national image of Korea, which in turn showed positive influences on the behavioral intention (i.e., visit intention, WOM intention). This study contributed to expand the literature by discussing the Chinese major online content platform, Korean culture, and visit intention to Korea focusing on the Korea wave content. A series of theoretical and practical implications were discussed along with the directions for future research.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of subordinates' emotional labor on job burnout and job engagement, and verify whether job crafting moderates the relationships between emotional labor and job related attitudes. A total of 301 employees working at various companies in Korea participated in an on-line survey and the data were examined by statistical analysis. The results showed that surface acting positively affected job burnout. It was found that deep acting positively affected job engagement, while negatively affecting job burnout. The results also demonstrated that job crafting moderated the relationship between surface acting and job engagement. It is suggested that employees' proactive behaviors designed to relieve the stress of work can mitigate the negative effect of emotional behavior. On the basis of the results, the implications and future research directions were discussed.

  • Purpose: This study examined the effects of a hospice palliative education program for adults on their perception of hospice, attitude towards death, and meaning of life. Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design. Among 43 participants, 22 were assigned to the non-equivalent experimental group and 21 to the control group. The hospice palliative education program comprised 10 three-hour sessions, each given once a week. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test and ${\chi}^2-test$ using SPSS version 20.0. Results: Significant differences between the experimental and control groups were observed in their perception of hospice (t=6.63, P<0.001), attitude towards death (t=2.36, P=0.023), and meaning of life (t=5.06, P<0.001). Conclusion: The results indicate that this education program could positively affect the perception of hospice, attitude toward death, and meaning of life in adults. More studies are warranted to explore the effects of this education program for various age groups so that it may help more people get positive understanding of hospice palliative care. The results suggest this program could help improve the negative perception of hospice, negative attitude towards death and meaning of life that are generally held by the public.

  • This study analyzed the characteristics and meaning of care labor by examining the experience of semi-aged caregivers. To that end, in-depth interviews were conducted for a qualitative study of 15 semi-aged caregivers working at elderly care facilities located in the Kyunggi-do region. The interview was conducted with a major focus on three categories: perception of care labor by semi-aged caregivers; stress experienced in the course of care labor; and insights earned through care labor. The analysis showed that semi-aged caregivers have a positive experience through care labor. This finding will contribute to understanding the characteristics and meaning of semi-aged care labor from a different perspective.

  • This study examined whether relationship marketing activities affected relationship satisfaction and ultimately relationship continuity intention for 180 online store users. As a result of hypothesis test through path analysis, it was found that financial activities and structural activities such as delivery services in shopping malls had a positive effect on relationship satisfaction. In particular, it was found that the influence of structural activities was greater. This suggests that fast delivery or easy-to-search traffic is more meaningful to relationship satisfaction than economic benefits. At the significance level p<0.05, it was found that social activities did not have a significant effect on relationship satisfaction. Because it is not easy to develop social bonds between salespeople and customers at online stores, but the direction is considered positive. Therefore, if online stores can form social bonds with customers, this will have a positive effect on relationship satisfaction, but it is expected that this will become a factor that can differentiate them from competitors.

  • This study examines the perception and trust of Korean society and people among students and adults using the indigenous psychological analysis. A matched sample of 1,107 participants, consisting of 369 students, their mothers and their fathers completed a questionnaire developed by the present researchers. The results indicate that parents more likely than adolescents to hold negative views of Korean society. Adults are more likely than adolescents to view Korean society as showing high ingroup favoritism, to be insecure, to be conservative, to be corrupt, and to have social inequities. Both groups agree that Korean society is not rational nor democratic, but believe that it has the potential for progress. Second, parents are more likely to hold negative views about Korean people. Adults are more likely than adolescents of viewing Korean people as overly conscious about social face, emotional, selfish, exclusionary, and conceited. Both adolescents and their parents agree that Koreans are cooperative, full of jung (deep affection and attachment), and sincere. Third, adults are less likely to trust Korean institutions than adolescents. Adults are less likely than adolescents to trust National Assembly, political parties, and unions. Adolescents are more likely than their parents to trust family members, school friends, teachers, and government employees. These results indicate that adolescents have higher trust of Korean society and people than their parents. Fifth, the overall results indicate that both group perceive Korean society as showing high ingroup favoritism and corruption. In terms of Korean people, respondents had a more balanced view of perceiving them as highly sensitive to social face and being emotional, while also perceiving them as cooperative and full of jung. The trust of Korean institutions were generally low, especially the National Assembly and political parties. However, the trust of family was very high, followed by trust of school friends and teachers. The trust of government employees was low and this was especially the case for politicians.

  • As social media marketing becomes prevalent, it is necessary to understand the administrative role of managers in promoting user engagement. However, little is known about how community managers enhance user engagement in social media. In this research, we study how managers can boost online user participation, including clicking likes and writing comments. Using the SUR (Seemingly Unrelated Regression) model, we find out that the active participation of managers increases user engagement of both passive (likes) and active (comments) ones. In addition, we find that the number of emotional words included in posts has a positive effect on the passive engagement whereas it negatively affects the active engagement. Lastly, the congruency between posts and comments positively affects users' passive engagement. This study contributes to prior literature related to online community management and text analyses. Furthermore, our findings offer managerial insights for practitioners and social media managers to further facilitate user engagement.

  • This study investigated the effects of climate change project learning on elementary students' attitudes toward climate change and environmental literacy. Climate change project learning was conducted on 174 sixth-grade elementary school students in a metropolitan city (77 male, 97 female), after which their perceptions and attitudes toward climate change and environmental literacy were assessed. The climate change project learning had a positive effect on the students' perceptions and attitudes toward climate change, which was surmised because of the climate change content sharing and discussions during the project learning. The climate change project learning also had a positive effect on the students' environmental literacy, especially their environmental attitudes, values, and behavior; however, there were no statistically significant changes found for environmental sensitivity. This study highlights the educational effects and implications of environmentally focused climate change projectbased education for elementary school students.
