Use of Minimally Invasive Plate Osteosynthesis for Tibial Diaphyseal Fracture in Three Dogs (경골 골간 골절에서의 최소 침습적 금속판 고정술의 이용 3례)

  • Three dogs were presented with diaphyseal fracture of the tibia following separate motor vehicle accidents. On physical and orthopedic examinations, the dogs were noted to have soft-tissue swelling and a closed fracture in these tibia sites. Radiographs revealed a simple, short oblique fracture (case 1), a comminuted, spiral fracture (case 2), and a simple, spiral fracture (case 3) in tibia. Minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) using a veterinary cuttable plate or locking plate was applied for the treatment of these fractures. The surgery was successful, and the fractures healed without any complications by 7 weeks (case 1), 10 weeks (case 2) and 8 weeks (case 3) after surgery. Our patients showed fast bone healing times and early weight-bearing during the treatment of their tibia fractures. Therefore, MIPO was a useful procedure for diaphyseal fracture of the tibia in veterinary orthopedics.

  • 본 연구에서는 압전형 음향변환기를 제작하기 위한 금속과 세라믹스로 적층된 원형의 압전음향소자와 음향변환기 케이스를 설계하였다. 먼저 음향소자인 복합원형평판의 진동운동 방정식을 세우고 그 진동모드를 알아보았다. 음향소자의 세라믹스는 두께 1 mm, 지름 10 mm의 PZT(IV)를 사용하였고, 금속판의 지름과 두께를 다양하게 변화시키면서 음향소자의 공진주파수를 계산하고, 각각의 금속판에 따른 감도지수의 변화를 계산하였다. 설계하고자 하는 음향소자의 공진주파수를 200 KHz로 청하고, 위의 계산을 통하여 음향변환소자에 가장 적합한 금속진동판을 찾아보았다. 음향변환기의 복합원형평판으로 이루어진 음향소자의 물리적 변화에 따른 공진주파수와 감도지수를 구하고 음향변환기 케이스의 공진주파수를 계산하여 압전형 음향변환기에 알맞은 금속진동판과 음향변환기 케이스를 알아보았다.

  • 본 논문에서 금속 차폐 공간 내 원거리 무선 전력전송 기술의 적용방법을 제시한다. 논문에서 고려된 금속 차폐 공간은 무선 전력전송 송수신코일의 후면 및 천장, 바닥에 위치하는 철, 알루미늄, 페라이트 3종류의 금속판들로 구성된다. 본 논문에서는 유한요소해석 시뮬레이션(Ansoft Maxwell)을 통해 송수신코일 간 자기결합 측면에서 철, 페라이트 금속판 보다 우수한 알루미늄 금속판의 특성을 검토하였다.

  • Mechanical behavior in metal bipolar plate of a fuel cell stack was studied using finite element analysis. The fuel stack is essentially composed of a metal bipolar plate (metal BP), a gasket, an end plate, a membrane electrolyte assembly (MEA), and a gas diffusion layer (GDL). It is important to maintain a suitable fastening force of Metal BP, because it influences the power efficiency of the fuel cell stack. After a gasket and a GDL are placed on the metal BP, the reaction force with the displacement is measured. The channel of metal bipolar plate is replaced by a simple geometrical plate. The results of FEM are similar to those of experiment. Therefore mechanical behavior in metal BP of a fuel cell stack can be estimated by using FEM.

Modeling of Damage Initiation in Singly Oriented Ply Fiber-Metal Laminate under Concentrated Loading Conditions (집중하중을 받는 일방향 보강 섬유 금속 적층판의 손상 개시 모델링)

  • Modeling of damage initiation in singly oriented ply (SOP) Fiber Metal Laminate (FML) under concentrated loading conditions was studied. The finite element method (FEM) base on the first order shear deformation theory is used for th\ulcorner modeling of damage initiation in SOP FML. The failure indices (FI) of the fiber prepreg and the metal laminate were calculated by using the Tasi-Hill failure criterion and the Miser yield criterion, respectively. To verify the present method, the failure analysis was conducted under uniaxial loading and cylindrical bending, then the analysis under concentrated load was conducted. The results show that the analysis is reasonable. An indentation test was conducted to compare a damage initiation load with a calculated FI. The test was conducted under two side clamped conditions to study the fiber orientation effect. Indentation curve was fitted using the Hertz equation and a damage initiation load is defined that the point which deviate the fitted curve from the real indentation curve. The damage initiation loads were obtained under various fiber orientations and compared with calculated FIs. The experiment was well matched with calculated FI. This results shows that the present method is suitable for the damage initiation modeling of SOP FML.
