  • The purpose of this study was to know influenced on the change of Oswestry back pain disability index(OBPDI), isometric muscle power(IMP), muscular activation with chronic low back pain(CLBP) patients after Trunk Stabilization Exercise. Intervention was provided 6 weeks(5 days a week). Muscular activation was measured during IMP(Muscles : transversus abdominis : TA, internal obliqus : IO, external obliqus : EO, rectus abdominis : RA and erector spinae: ES). The results were as follows. 1. OBPDI about the MBE and the SE groups had effective decrease pain and disability. 2. IMP of intervention after the MBE and the SE groups had effective improve muscle power. 3. Muscle activation during IMP of intervention after was : TA, IO, RA had increase in the MBE and the SE groups. EO muscle activation during IMP of intervention after had increase only MBE groups. This shows that the MBE and the SE groups had effective increase because it has effective improve muscle power. Therefore, this study shows £hat trunk stabilization exercise program influenced on the change of OBPDI, IMP, muscular activation with CLBP patients.

  • Data from Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(4th year, 187 workers) was used for analyzing the difference between hearing aid users and nonusers for their job satisfaction and daily life satisfaction. The analyses result shows that there are no significant differences in both job satisfaction and daily life satisfaction between hearing aid users and nonusers. However, job satisfaction of hearing aid users has a positive role in daily life satisfaction. Although hearing aids to the hearing impaired played very important role, it was thought to be resulted that some influence factors such as the increase of using IT devices and the expansion of communication support services weren't applied because of the nature of the panel data. These limitations of the study and implications are presented at the conclusion.

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the causal relations among related factors of job and life satisfaction among 805 wage workers with disabilities. The study conducted a path analysis using the $8^{th}$ Panel survey of Employment for the Disabled data. The results are as follows. Firstly, the life satisfaction scale was categorized into the human relationship satisfaction and the material environment satisfaction by an explorative factor analysis. These two satisfactions are directly affected by Job Satisfaction (JS) and Job Involvement (JI), not directly affected by Job Engagement (JE). Secondly, JS and JI have a complete mediated effect on the path from JE to these two satisfactions. Thirdly, an indirect effect in the path reaching JS was shown to be significant in a dual mediating effect through JS and JI. Based on this study, it is recommended the way of vocational rehabilitation counseling and the related supporting strategies and programs devise toward a JS of wage workers with disabilities, vocational rehabilitation field practitioners and professionals should consider properly intervening job factors.

  • Aimed at office workers at their height of Temporomandibular joint disorder(TMD), organized self-filling questionnaires were distributed from January 7 to 26, 2008 to 216 workers in the fields of service, office work, and production in D metropolitan city, to get a proper recognition about prevention and treatment of TMD by observing how strongly occupational stress influence on them. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. For subjective symptoms of joint noise as TMD, occasional was 45.8% and often 12.0%, while for joint dislocation often was 12.0%. 41.2% said they feel pains while chewing, while 24.1% said they occasionally feel pains while not chewing. 2.8% said they often experience mouth-opening disorder. 2. For joint noise, answers were significantly different according to their ages, while 30's are at their height (P < 0.05). For joint dislocation, the shorter they worked the more they have it, so less than a year worker was 37.9%, while less than 3 years 31.0%, and less than 5 years 20.7%. For work type, daytime workers have more dislocation, 58.6%, than shift-workers 34.5% (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). For pains while chewing, the shorter they worked, the more they experienced, which is the same as mouth-opening disorder (P < 0.01). 3. Workers with mouth-opening disorder have much stress on occupational autonomy (P < 0.05) and workers with dislocation and pains while chewing have much stress on relation trouble (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). Workers with highly occupational insecurity has much trouble on dislocation and pains while chewing, while workers with dislocation have significantly much stress on unproper compensation (P < 0.05). 4. For who have joint dislocation, they have much stress on relation-trouble, occupational disorder, and un-proper compensation (P < 0.01, P < 0.05). Workers with pains while not chewing showed significant difference about occupational insecurity and relation troubles (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). Who have mouth-opening disorder showed significant difference about occupational autonomy (P < 0.05).

  • This study aimed to assess stiffness and elasticity of the masticatory muscle in the patients with the masticatory muscle pain using a tactile sensor and to investigate whether the masticatory muscle pain affects the facial expression muscles. From those who visited Department of Oral Medicine in Dankook University Dental Hospital, 27 patients presenting with unilateral muscle pain and tenderness in the masseter muscle (Ms) were selected (mean age: $36.4{\pm}13.8$ years). Exclusion criterion was those who also had temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders or any neurological pain. Muscle stiffness and elasticity for the muscles of mastication and facial expression was investigated with the tactile sensor (Venustron, Axiom Co., JAPAN) and the muscles measured were the Ms, anterior temporal muscle (Ta), frontalis (Fr), inferior orbicularis oculi (Ooci), zygomaticus major (Zm), superior and inferior orbicularis oris (Oors, Oori) and mentalis (Mn). t-tests was used to compare side difference in muscle stiffness and elasticity. Side differences were also compared between diagnostic groups (local muscle soreness (LMS) vs myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) and between acute (< 6M) and chronic ($\geq$ 6M) groups. This study showed that Ms and Zm at affected side exhibited significantly increased stiffness and decreased elasticity as compared to the unaffected side.(p<0.05) There was no significant difference between local muscle soreness and myofascial pain syndrome groups and between acute and chronic groups. The results of this study suggests that masticatory muscle pain in Ms can affect muscle stiffness and elasticity not only for Ms but also for Zm, the facial expression muscle.
