Effect of Back-Strengthening Exercise Program in Rural Community-Dwelling Women with Mild Low Back Pain (허리통증이 있는 농촌지역 여성들에 대한 허리 강화 운동 프로그램의 효과)

  • 목적: 농촌 지역사회 기반의 허리 근력 강화 운동 프로그램이 운동과 허리 건강에 대한 개인의 태도 및 믿음에 미치는 효과를 평가하고자 하였다. 방법: 강원도 지역 네 개의 농촌 마을에서 가벼운 허리 통증이 있는 79명의 여성 자원자(42-76세)들을 운동군(n=40)과 대조군(n=39)으로 마을단위로 배정하였다. 운동군에서는 지역사회 기반의 허리강화 운동 프로그램(주당 3회, 8주간)이 시행되었고 대조군에는 일반적인 건강 관리에 대한 강의가 제공되었다. 등척성 허리 신전 근력과 허리 통증 관련 장애, 운동에 대한 태도, 허리 질환에 대한 위협인지, 운동의 자기 효능감을 중재전과 중재후 1, 2개월째 측정하였다. 결과: 운동군에서 2개월후 허리 신전근력은 뚜렷이 증가하였으며 허리 통증 관련 장애도 유의미하게 감소하였다. 운동에 대한 태도와 허리 질환에 대한 위협 인지는 운동군에서 증가하였으나 대조군에서는 변화가 없었다. 운동의 자기효능감은 양군에서 같이 증가하였으나 운동군에서 그 정도가 더 뚜렷했다. 결론: 농촌 지역 여성들을 대상으로 한 허리 근력 강화 운동 프로그램은 허리 통증으로 인한 장애를 감소시켰고 운동의 효과에 대한 태도와 믿음을 변화시켰다.

Lumbar Combined Rehabilitation Exercise for Lumbar Reposition Sense, Static Balance and Pain of the Patient's with Chronic Low Back Pain (만성요통환자의 복합재활운동이 통증과 정적균형, 재위치감각인지에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of the apply of lumbar stabilization exercises and lumbar strengthening exercises using Medx machine on back functions such as static balance, lumbar reposition sense, and back pain(VAS) in chronic low back pain. This study divided 30 chronic low back pain patients who experienced only lumbar back pain(male: 5, female: 10) into a lumbar stabilization exercise group and a complex exercise group, and then performed their respective exercise programs for three times a week over a 8-week period. The lumbar static balance, lumbar reposition sense, and lumbar back pain were measured using a pair t-test within each group, and were also compared between two groups using an independent t-test. The results of the present study were as follows: Both groups exhibited statisti cally significant increases after performing their own exercise program in the static balance, lumbar reposition sense, and lumbar back pain(p<.05). However, the comparison of two groups confirmed that the complex exercise group resulted in greater effects than the lumbar stabilization exercise group(p<.05). In conclusion, muscle strengthening and stabilization exercises in chronic low back pain patients are considered to not only relieve back pain, but also improve various back functions.

The Impact of Abdominal Muscle Strengthening Exercises, Back Muscle Stretching and Multi-Training on the Lumbar Flexibility of 20s Adults (복부근력강화운동, 배부근 스트레칭 및 복합운동이 20대 성인의 허리 유연성에 미치는 영향)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to identify the effect and difference of abdominal muscle strengthening exercise, back muscle stretching and multi-training on the lumbar flexibility of 20s adults. Method : The abdominal muscle strengthening exercise, back muscle stretching and multi-training were conducted 9 times targeting 21 subjects who attended K University from 2013 May 29 to June 14. Sit and Reach Tests were conducted 2 times(before and after exercise program) for flexibility test and measured data were processed with SPSS program WIN 12.0K. By the Wilcoxon signed rank test, the effectiveness of exercises are verified. By the Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney test, the difference of effectiveness among the exercise groups are verified. Result : The results of this study were summerized below 1. Before and after exercise, in abdominal muscle strengthening exercise group, back muscle stretching group and multi-training group are showed statistically significant differences(p<.05), 2. There were statistically significant difference in the improvement of the flexibility between each group(p>.05). Conclusion : These data suggests that all of the 3 exercise programs are brought positive influences on the improvement of flexibility, and abdominal muscle strengthening exercises and flexibility multi-training are effective on the flexibility more than, back muscle stretching in 20s adults.

Effects of hip joint strengthening on muscle strength, Y-balance and low extremity injury criterion in athletics (엉덩관절 강화 운동이 운동선수의 근력, 동적자세조절 및 하체 손상 준거에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 6 weeks hip joint strengthen on muscle strength, dynamic posture control and low extremity injury criterion. Twenty athletics were divided into two groups, the exercise group was conducted for three times a week, 60 minutes, and six weeks. The dependent variables of this study were flexibility, muscular strength, dynamic posture control, and lower body injury criterion. The results of this study showed that the flexibility was not significant, but muscle strength was significant difference. The dynamic posture control was significantly effective in the left posterolateral and posteromedial. In addition, total score was significantly exercise effect, and there was no difference between left and right leg length. In conclusion, hip joint strengthen increased muscle strength and dynamic posture control, and decreased the concern of low extremity injury criterion.

Fundamental Characteristics of Isometric Muscle Force Potentiation induced by Surface Stimulation in FES (기능적 표면 전기자극에 의해 유발되는 등척성 근력강화현상의 기초적 특성)

  • A computer model of the musculoskelotal system that provides accurate prediction of muscle force and body movement trom the stimulation input is desired for the effective control system design in FES. This paper aims to investigate the fundamental properties of the gradual muscle force potentiation that was not included in the previous muscle models, for future development of a model that provides vetter prediction of FES-induced muscle force and body movement. Specifically, hou the muscle length was investigated. The experimental results showed that both the force increment ratio and the time-to-peak during electrical stimulation decreased with stimulatino frequency. When the muscle potentiation state was saturated by preceding stimulation. the force did not increase any more during additive stimulation. Muscle length significantly affected the force potentiation in such a way that the force increment ratio decreased with muscle length. A new model of the muscle potentiation based on these results is desired in the future.

Effects of Core Exercise Program on the Low Back Function in Private Guard and Security (경호원들의 코어프로그램 수행과 요추부 기능개선에 관한 연구)

  • Background: This study was to investigate the effects of spinal strengthening exercise and lumbar stabilization exercise(core exercise program) on trunk muscle strength, flexibility and balance, lumbar function. The subjects of this study were the eighteen subjects who was registered in private guard company. The each exercise group of 9 persons were chosen by random controlled trial. Methods: We used instrument BTE, Libra, Ruler Measuring tape to measured trunk muscle strength, flexibility, balance and lumbar function. Results: The result of this study were summarized below; The flexor muscle strength was improve in lumbar stabilization exercise(core exercise) group(p<.05). The extensor muscle strength was improve in lumbar stabilization exercise(core program) group(p<.05). The trunk flexibility was improve in spinal strengthening exercise group and lumbar stabilization exercise group(p<.05). The balance ability was improve in spinal strengthening group and lumbar stabilization exercise group(core program) group(p<.05). Conclusion: With the above results, demonstrated effects of spinal strengthening exercise and lumbar stabilization exercise in each private guard and security in this study.

Effects of Lower Extremity Muscle Strengthening Exercise on Balance and Fall Efficacy in Middle Older Adults Women (하지 근력 강화 운동이 중기 여성 노인의 균형과 낙상 효능감에 미치는 효과)

  • This study was to examine the effect of lower extremity muscle strengthening exercise on balance and fall efficacy in middle older adults women. This study was conducted with one group pre-test and post-test design. A total of 34 older adults women participated in 7 weeks of intervention. Data were analyzed as SPSS ver. 21.0 using descriptive statistics and paired t-test. Right leg balance(t=6.09, p<.001), left leg balance(t=6.76, p<.001), and fall efficacy(t=6.81, p<.001) were significantly increased. Dynamic balance(t= -4.68, p=.001) was significantly decreased. This study found that lower extremity muscle strengthening exercise program could be a useful health promotion method.

Effects of lumbar stabilization exercise on multifidus muscle cross-sectional area, static posture control and pain in patient's with chronic low back pain (요부 안정화운동이 만성요통환자의 다열근 단면적, 정적자세조절, 통증에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed the effects of an exercise program that combined lumbar stabilization exercise and muscle strengthening exercise and an exercise program that applied only lumbar muscle strengthening exercise on multifidus muscle cross-sectional area, static posture control ability, and low back pain in patients with CLBP. For the study method, 28 patients with CLBP were divided into two exercise propram groups and exercised three times a week for 8-weeks. The data analysis of this study used the t-test to compare before and after group exercise program application, and between each group (p<.05). As a result of the study, significant results were found before and after application of the exercise program within each group, such as multifidus muscle cross-sectional area, static posture control ability, and low back pain (p<.05). Between each group, the exercise program that combined lumbar stabilization exercise and muscle strengthening exercise was found to be more effective (p<.05). In conclusion, it was found that the exercise program with additional lumbar stabilization exercise improved the structure and function of various lumbar vertebrae and reduced lumbar pain.
