  • This aim of this study is to support the value criteria that citizen evaluate themselves it when they found modern heritages in their town. To understand the changing of value criteria for the cultural heritage, we have to begin from early 20 century that were, however, diversified after 80's. As a result, early they evaluated with the architectural and aesthetic value mainly, after they evaluated with the social-cultural value and academical value, and nowadays they try to include the economical value and educational value. So this study rearranged and divided that value with the preservation and using value. The preservation value include the historical value, aesthetic value, social-cultural value and academical value, and the using value include the economical value and educational value. The criteria, however, don't have the equal importance, This study try to redefine relative importance score with paired comparison. As a result, Historical value is proved that most important criteria, but aesthetic value got the score lower than social-cultural value, and similar with academical values. And in using values, economical value and educational value got the low score. It means that if some researcher insist about the importance of economical value, it should evaluate lower than preservation values. This study insist that we have to include diversified values and that values have relatives score. Actually, now we mostly evaluate with the architecture and aesthetic values about modern heritage, so we are losing a lot of modern heritage. If we include the diversified values, social-cultural, academical and educational value, we can conserve our important modern heritage and revitalizing town with tourism of historical heritage.

  • In principal, the original form of Eupchi landscape in Naepo reflects a traditional idea regarding direction as a connection with one's fortune and naturalization strategy of power. In reality, the weight for the landscape inside the castle town was distinct by locality according to the conditions of natural geographies and main function of the castle town. In other words, the traditional Eupchi landscape was shaped under the fixed principles but it was simultaneously reflecting the local temporality and spatiality. As Chosun Dynasty went under the Japanese colonization, Eupchi in the traditional period started to evolve into a modem city. That is to say, the traditional Eupchi as a political place became to change into the center of capital accumulation, stronghold of economy and education, and center of town beyond the function as a place for government and administration. Therefore, the process of change from the landscape of Eupchi to a modem city was a kind of revolution in the form and function, and it was also a very rapid rearrangement of social space. The disparate element of landscape and double social space worked as a vital inertial element in the urban structure of Naepo area until the post independence and evolution of landscape.

  • This research has a purpose to review architectural education in the early modern times in Korea. Although the mission school had some programs on basic woodworks, which were for architectural technicians afterwards, it has not been paid attention yet. Missionaries recognized the problematic situation that the most western-styled building all over Korea were built by Chinese or Japanese technicians, and they made up the minds and tried to train Korean apprentices. This training program couldn't be developed to the authorized curriculum, and moreover was limited that it was concentrated on just woodwork training; however, the missionaries made their best endeavor to overcome the deficiency of skillful technicians. At the woodwork department of the mission school there were occasionally effective programs, for example, a training of drawing or an actual participation at the real construction site. Mission schools could be said to offer the helpful programs for the early education on newly coming architecture.

  • This essay attempts a historical examination of educational function of the novel. It pays attention to the eighteenth century sentimentalism, and its historical vicissitudes up to early twenties century. The eighteenth century is the period in which debates on the nature of emotion and its moral and aesthetic role have passionately taken place and the modern paradigm of thought on affect has been formed. This is why "affect revival phenomenon" in the late twenties century goes back to this period. This essay finds in Adam Smith the most sophisticated arguments on sympathy in their relation to the development of the novel; it examines the relationship of Smith's argument with modern novel in the tradition of sentimentalism, and its revision in modernist novel. Through this examination, it discusses how cognitive and non-cognitive approaches, the two representative positions in contemporary thinking on emotion/affect, have revised and transformed the eighteenth century sentimentalism.

Thirdly, in the relationship between the needs of teaming objects of family life area and the family value, the needs of technical and interpretive behavioral system had few things to do with the family value. However. the needs on teaming object needs of emancipatory system of action was higher as the family value was modern. The trend in the relationship with needs was same in all the sub-areas such as sense of value on marriage, on gender role, on children. on filial love, and familism. However, the family value and the achievement level of family life area goals did not show significant correlation. Fourthly, regarding the family value and the needs on teaming objectives of family life area of middle school Home Economics teachers, those who were female, who had certificates for Home Economics Teaching, who were young and who had less experiences in teaching had more modem family value and required more teaming objectives in emancipatory system of action. Considering the results of the study, it is needed to emphasize the learning objects of emancipatory system of action in family life education by inducing consensus on the proposition that Home Economics subject is a critical and practical subject. To do this. it is needed to provide Home Economics teachers with emancipatory interest and mature family value through educating and refreshing them. It is desirable to separate Technology and Home Economics so that certificated Home Economics teachers could teach family life area. In that case they can teach the subject in the point of practical criticism. If the area is to be taught by other subject teachers there should be enough understanding on the philosophy and nature of Home Economics subject beforehand.

  • This paper attempts a close-reading of Michel Ocelot's short animation film, (1979), and proposes it as an available text in art appreciation class for young students. stimulates the students' attention and intellectual curiosity thanks to the exotic and fantastic atmosphere, beautiful mise en scene, and intriguing plot. Ocelot's technique of decoupage used in this film rejuvenates both the traditional folk art and Lotte Reiniger's early experiments in the history of animation film. Ocelot subverts the ideal of modern male adult subject as unique possessor of scientific knowledge and technology, by adopting a female figure and a young child, who is also female, as main characters. The imaginative and subversive power of animation contributes to creating posthuman beings beyond the homocentric figure of Vitruvian Man. The posthuman condition supposes that human beings have the equal relationship of continuum with not only other humans but also non-human beings like all living things and inanimate matters. In order to teach and learn the posthuman condition, it is necessary to conceive an interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum including art, science, philosophy, history, and social sciences. Animation film serves excellently as educational text for the integrated curriculum of the posthuman.
