  • The purpose of this study is to generate a substantive theory that accounts for the social readaptation of the women who have engaged in prostitution and propose a practical program for them. We used the grounded theory developed by Strauss and Corbin(1990). Raw data were collected through the in-depth interview, documents and observation. We used constant comparative method for the data analysis. The nine women who had the exprience of prostitution have participated in this study. As a result of the data analysis, in open coding were generated 116 concepts, 29 subcategories and 12 categories, In axial coding the outcomes of a paradigm model were as follows. The causal conditions were named 'hostile environment' and 'the self endowed stigma'. The phenomenon turned out to be 'living as an anonymous being'. The contextual conditions were named 'cohesion of family', 'being pushed' and 'shrinked emotion'. The intervening conditions were presented to be 'desire of self restoration as a social being', 'reactionary reconstruction'. The action/interaction strategies turned out to be 'shifting of social status', 'neighbor alliance'. The consequences were presented to be 'psychological wayfarer' and 'tentacular living'. In selective coding we found a core category, 'repetition of leaving and returning from the life world'. Based on the phenomenon, two types of participants life attitudes were found as follows : present hesitating type, self concealing type. Following the adove results, We finally suggested the need to develope a community oriented case management model.

  • This article explores early childhood teachers' practices from bottom-up perspectives on the relationship between theory and practice. Results of the review of literature are as follows: 1) From top-down perspectives early childhood teachers' practices and their classroom behaviors have been traditionally defined within the framework of theories of child development, the notion of developmentally appropriate practice, and designed program models; 2) From bottom-up perspectives researchers have a focus on how teachers' practices lead theories and how they construct the act of teaching through reflective thinking; 3) empirical research on preservice and inservice teachers demonstrates that preservice teachers develop their own theories of teaching from their previously held assumptions, gained knowledge from preparation programs, and their individual experiences. It also shows that inservice teachers construct teaching through their implicit knowledge and the use of strategies to negotiate problems. Implications for future studies on teachers's practices are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to improve the understanding of essential experiences of children of Alcoholism and explore their adjustment process from the children's perspectives. The specific research questions explored in this study were: 1. What was the central phenomenon that children of Alcoholism have experienced? 2. What was the adjustment process of the children of Alcoholism. The grounded theory was adopted in this study to address the research questions. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with eight young adult aged from 18-30 years olds who experienced their parent's Alcoholism. Grounded theory based data analyses resulted in 85 concepts, 30 sub-categories, and 16 categories. The 'causal conditions' influencing the central phenomenon was 'self denial' and 'being suppressed' is the central phenomenon for the children of Alcoholism. The core issue in the process of an adjustment of children from a Alcoholism family was 'accepting the parental Alcoholic problem and re-defining the self', The results of this study suggest that counseling interventions are suggested to improve children's well-being and facilitate their adjustment. Therefore this study has implication on building theory of intervention on the offsprings who have parents of Alcoholism.

  • The purpose of the study is to explore the experience of bullying in the workplace of nurses. The study period was April 1 2013 to July 5 2013. The subjects were 14 nurses who had experienced bullying at their workplace. Data were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory methodology. With data analysis, 139 concepts, 35 subcategories, and 13 categories were generated. "Disregard of presence by negatively learned inertia" was the central phenomenon for workplace bullying of nurses, and the core category was 'struggle to regain oneself'. This study will contribute to a change in individual and organizational awareness of bullying in the workplace by presenting a dynamic process of nurses experiencing bullying. Research is required on identifying workplace bullying status, monitoring methods and program development to reduce workplace bullying of nurses.

  • This research is to study the psychological, emotional, physical pains of the spouses of gambling addicts and the recovery process from the suffering. From this, we expect to propose a supportive program to help the recovery. Nine of the spouses of gambling addicts joined this research and the hermeneutical grounded theory methodology was applied to interpret it. Data were collected by the depth interview and various written records and they were analyzed by Rennie(2007)'s methodology. We could construct 20 categories by analyzing and categorizing meaningful units of the data. The core theme of the recovery experience was presented as "Stopping rolling the Sysyphus's boulder, and returning to the routine peace." Based upon the research outcomes, we suggested a supportive program considering male and female differences and a way to improve the accessibility to the therapy system for the spouses of gambling addicts and the need for a meaning therapy.

In order to reveal in depth the change process of the job formation, the 'grounded approach' as a qualitative study was used as a the methodological frame of this study, and snow sampling, one of nonrandom sampling was used for the selection method of the study participants. 10 study participants who are able to make positive self-expression and talk with the researcher were selected. Through grounded approach appropriate for this process research, this study could acquire following results. First, through the casual condition that is the exploration of the lives of professional golfers growing to excellent sports leaders, it connected to the central phenomena of professional instruction methods and education belief as golf leaders. In this process, the changes as new experiences for the charm of the new job and relationship formation influence as the function of a contextual condition. In addition, golf leaders tried to become a more completed golf leader through self-efforts for development and expertise attainment according to the their own situations as well as belief, and they have established the lives of firm golf leaders through the process. Method 2. : According to the grounded theory methodology of Strauss and Corbin, the qualitative data was collected with in depth interviews and participants observations until its saturation when the 25 consented subjects were participating and interacting with the other subjects in the empowerment education program. Results: With the analysis of the data, 29 categories were generated. The core category generated, which was a central phenomenon of the empowerment process, was named powerlessness. The intervening conditions facilitating or impeding the empowerment process were discovered as supportive systems through the participation of group meeting, problem solving dialogue, and the knowledge deficit of self-care.
