The Implementation of Graphic Window Library for RTOS Qplus-P (실시간 운영체제 Qplus-P용 그래픽 윈도우 라이브러리 구현)

  • As the Internet appliances like digital TV, Internet set-top boxes, and Internet phone, are showing up in the market, the economics of real-time operating system (RTOS), which is an essential for controlling those devices, is expanding faster than ever before. ETRI has developed describes RTOS called Qplus-P, targeting various platforms ranging from PDA to Internet set-top box and home server. This paper describes the implementation of graphic window library for Qplus-P. The Qplus-P graphic window library was implemented using tiny-X graphic server and gtk graphic toolkit, which are open source software. To port this library to various aliances, hangul processing, screen rotation, touch screen, and graphic acceleration functions are added to the tiny-X graphic server of the implementd graphic window library. Currently, Qplus-P graphic window is running on ARM-based appliances such as iPaq PDA, Samsung S3C2400 board, Zaurus PDA, and on Home Server that uses x86 processor. Qplus-P graphic library is provided as a of Qplus-P target builder.

  • Modern GPUs(Graphic Processing Units) provide computing capability higher than that of the general CPUs(Central Processor Units). With supports of programmability of graphics pipeline GP-GPU(General Purpose computation on GPU) has gained much attention expanding its application area. This paper compares sequential and massively parallel implementations of FDTD(Finite Difference Time Domain) algorithm using CUDA(Compute Unified Device Architecture). Experimental results show upto 45X speedup over conventional CPU execution.

  • In this paper, it is designed a processor using embedded system so that moving picture can be expressed on LED electric sign board which has been expressed a simple message only like as a character or graphic. It has been fabricated a moving picture LED electric sign board which is composed to a video processor and LED display panel, in order to be able to express a digital moving picture of 24 bits that is transmitted from embedded system. It includes gamma adjustment, brightness, color contrast control, a schedule function, expression image conversion by the Internet and memory device. Also, an application program based Windows CE is designed so that a character, graphic, and moving picture can be expressed on a small LED electric sign board.

  • Current rendering processors are organized mainly to process a triangle as fast as possible and recently parallel 3D rendering processors, which can process multiple triangles in parallel with multiple rasterizers, begin to appear. For high performance in processing triangles, it is desirable for each rasterizer have its own local pixel cache. However, the consistency problem may occur in accessing the data at the same address simulaneously by more than one rasterizer. In this paper, we propose a parallel rendering processor architecture resolving such consistency problem effectively. Moreover, the proposed architecture reduces the latency due to a pixel cache miss significantly. The experimental results show that proposed architecture achieves almost linear speedup at best case even in sixteen rasterizer

  • When the graphics accelerator for high-quality multimedia content design, hardware verification environment, easy and accurate performance evaluation in an embedded device is required. To work around this is not verified through the simulation waveform analysis to determine the actual calculated graphic images has designed a software rasterizer. Rasterizer is designed for Windows-based environment using the C language implementation of rasterization has a function at each step. Vertex data is entered and the results were verified.

  • 퍼스널 컴퓨터의 고성능화에 따라 90년대에는 PC와 워크스테이션(W/S)의 구분이 불분명해지고 상급기종의 PC는 현재 수퍼미니급의 영역까지 파고들어 갈 것이다. CPU는 32비트 프로세서로 완전히 전환할 것이며, OS(operating system)는 MS-DOS가 멀티 태스킹이 되지 않으므로 멀 티태스킹이 가능한 OS/2와 UNIX가 주로 사용될 것이다. 또는 90년대에는 PC네트워크가 본격 적으로 이용될 것이며 OS/2의 네트워크 기능이 보다 강화될 것이다. 이용자와의 인터페이스도 문자로 키인되는 명령어양식에서 그림을 이용한 그래픽 유저 인터페이스(GUI)가 일반화할 것 이다. 또한 그래픽 기능이 강화되어 프린터로 인쇄될 이미지를 화면상에 그대로 표시되게 하는 WYSIWYG(what you see is what you get)기능이 실현될 것이다.

  • Due to the demand for high speed 3D graphic rendering, video file format conversion, compression, encryption and decryption technologies, the importance of digital signal processor system is growing rapidly. In order to satisfy the real-time constraints, high performance digital signal processor is required. Therefore, as in general purpose computer systems, digital signal processor should be designed as multicore architecture as well. Using UTDSP benchmarks as input, the trace-driven simulation has been performed and analyzed for the 2 to 16-core digital signal processor architectures with the cores from simple RISC to in-order and out-of-order superscalar processors for the various window sizes, extensively.

  • 영상처리시스템은 대량의 데이터를 고속으로 처리해야하기 때문에 고성능의 프로세서를 요구한다. 카메라의 성능은 점차 해상도가 높아져서 데이터가 많아지고 있는 반면 프로세서의 성능은 물리적인 한계로 인해서 단일 프로세서로는 속도 향상에 한계에 부딪히고 있다. 최근 CPU업계에서의 추세는 단일코어의 성능향상 한계로 인해 점차 코어의 개수를 늘리는 방v향으로 개발이 진행되고 있는데 이와 같이 병렬 프로세싱을 이용해서 영상처리시스템을 개발하는 연구가 최근 진행되고 있다. 병렬처리프로세싱 방법의 하나로 그래픽카드의 프로세서인 GPU를 사용하는 방법이 많이 시도되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 GPU를 이용하여 카메라의 모션을 추적하는 시스템을 실시간 시스템으로 개발하는 방법을 소개하고자 한다.

  • GDB 는 프로그램의 버그를 찾고 수정할 수 있는 기능을 포함하고 있는 디버거로써 소프트웨어 개발자가 효과적인 프로그램 개발과 유지를 위해 꼭 필요하다. 그러나, PICO 프로세서와 같이 새로 개발된 프로세서는 그 위에서 동작하는 프로그램을 디버깅 하기 위한 환경을 갖추고 있지 않다. 이 논문은 PICO 프로세서를 위한 GNU 디버거인 GDB 와 그래픽 유저인터페이스를 제공하는 DDD 를 포팅하는 방법에 대해 소개하고 설명한다.

  • A process control graphic system is proposed as an efficient tool for monitoring the operation of power plant. It uses the multi-processor structure with 60 Kbyte shared memory as an implemental type of the distributed computer system, so that it is flexible, functionally extensible, and applicable to real-time process. The shared memory is used as a real-time database handling the process values and operator's commands. The database files, generated by the user-interactive graphic editor developed for the system or text editor, have the characteristics of simplicity and user-friendliness. The process control graphic system, that can monitor the operation of boiler and function as a backup controller in case of failure in boiler controller, is applied to Ulsan power plant. As a result, it displays the operating data of the boiler process without error by 14 pages of color graphic image according to the operation menu, and additionally functions well as a fault-tolerant control system.
