아크릴산 그라프트 중합시 첨가된 Chitosan이 면직물에 미치는 물성 (Physical properties of chitosan added on acrylic acid grafted cotton fabrics)

  • Chitosan is known to be an excellent biocompatible natural polymer. Recently, with a growing interest of health and environment, chitosan which is good in no harmful effect on human body and environment, has been watched as the finish treatment of hygiene and pleasantness. The purpose of this study is to develop multi functional fabrics by chitosan added on acrylic acid grafted cotton fabrics. Therefore physical properties such as moisture regain, air permeability, whiteness, static voltage and tensile strength of chitosan added on acrylic acid grafted cotton fabrics were investigated. The results are as follows ; According to increased chitosan's concentration, grafting yield was decreased. Therefore thickness of film by treated chitosan added on acrylic acid grafted cotton fabric became thin. FT R spectra of chitosan add on acrylic acid grafted cotton fabric clearly showed peaks of COOH and $NH_2$, Moisture regain, static voltage of chitosan add on acrylic acid grafted cotton fabrics were increased than control. Air permeability, whiteness and tensile strength were decreased than control.

  • This study is concerned with the graft polymerization of acrylamide onto the surfaces of polyethylene and polyethylene terephthalate films treated with on corona discharge. In the case, peroxides formed by the corona discharge treatment are likely to be the species responsible for initiating the graft polymerization. This treatment produced a continuous charge in wettability and also amid group density on the polymer surface, as evidenced by water contact angle measurement, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy in the attenuated total reflectance mode, and electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis. Both of the merely corona-treated film and the subsequently grafted film are discussed as a function of time after treatment and water washings.

PET필름에 Methacrylic 산의 그라프트 중합 (Graft Polymerization of Methacrylic acid onto PET Film)

  • Methacrylic acid was graft polymerized with benzoyl peroxide in itiator onto the commercial PET film. Graft polymerization was carried out in emulsion, which consisted of BPO (1), chlorobenzene(8) as swelling agent, tween 80(1) and sodium lauryl sulfate(1) as emulsifier and water(1,000). Original PET film has poor reactivities and, so the film preswdled with benzyl alcohol($150^{\circ}C$, 1hr) was also examined. The graft yield of PET film was increased with reaction temperature and monomer concentration. The graft yield of preswelled PET film was higher than that of no-treated PET film. Moisture regain was linearly increased with graft yield. DSC thermodiagram showed the Tm of grafted PET film was same as that of original PET film. Grafted PET film was dyed with methylene blue solution. The photograph of the cross section showed that grafting was occured not at the center but near surfaces.

Ce(IV)감에 의한 셀룰로오스 섬유에의 그라프트 중합에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Graft Polymerization onto Cellulose Fiber using Tetravalent Cerium-)

  • Graft polymerization mechanism and rate of polymerization of MMA and MMA/4-VP onto cellulose fiber using Ce(IV) salt as an initiatior were investigated. It was shown that the concentration of Ce(IV) salt affected on the graft yield, graft efficiency, total conversion and the rate of graft polymerization. The graft yield and total cenversion for MMA grafted polymer were significantly higher than those for MMA/4-VP grafted polymer with variation of CAN concentration. In this system the oxidative termination by Ce(IV) salt was considered particularly in higher concentration Ce(IV) ion. The change in the mode of termination reactions with variation of CAN concentration made possible the presence of an optimum Ce(IV) ion concentration for maximum graft yield.

  • Polypropylene nonwoven fabrics were grafted with acrylic acid by a preirradiation method by using electron beam accelerator. The effect of irradiation dose, storage time, concentration of acrylic acid, reaction temperature, reaction time and Mohr's salt concentration on the degree of grafting were investigated in detail. The grafted Polypropylene nonwoven fabrics were characterized using IR spectroscopy and SEM. The results showed that the degree of grafting increased with increasing absorbed dose and the Mohr's salt in the acrylic acid solution promoted grafting efficiency.

  • 생물학적 의약품, 식품 등과 같이 저온 유통 체계(cold chain)를 관리하는데 있어서 제품 용기에 부착하여 보관 온도 이상에 노출될 경우 비가역적인 변화를 일으켜 고온 노출여부를 검지 할 수 있는 라벨의 소재로소 poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-t-butylacrylamide) [p(NIPAAm-co-t-BAM)]수화겔의 적용 가능성을 평가하였다. p(NIPAAm-co-t-BAM)수화겔은 cold chain 온도인 8$^{\circ}$C 이하에서 온도 민감성을 갖도록 t-BAM양을 조절하여 레독스 중합반응을 통하여 저온 (4$^{\circ}$C)합성하였고, 또한 oli해(NIPAAm-co-t-BAM) 공중합체를 그라프트하여 빗살 구조를 가지는 가교수화겔을 제조함으로써 수화겔의 수축 팽윤 속도를 향상시키고자 하였다. 합성 된 수화겔의 lower critical solution temperatures(LCSTs)는 흐림 점 측정법과 시차주사열량계(DSC)를 이용하여 측정하였으며, NIPAAm 단량체와 빗살형태의 t-BAM 공중합체의 조성비가 가교제의 양에 따라 수화겔의 수축과 팽윤 거동을 관찰하였다. 소수성기를 포함하는 t-BAM의 조성비율에 따라 8$^{\circ}$C 이하 저온에서 수화겔의 LCST조절이 가능하며, 빗살 형태로 그라프트된 공중합체의 조성비에 따라 수축-팽윤율 및 속도의 조절이 가능한 것으로 확인되었다.

아민형 PP-g-VBC의 NO3-N과 PO4-P 흡착특성 (Nitrate and Phosphate Adsorption Properties by Aminated Vinylbenzyl Chloride Grafted Polypropylene Fiber)

  • 비닐벤질클로라이드(VBC)를 PP부직포에 광그라프트 중합시키고 에칠렌디아민을 이용한 아민반응을 통해 음이온 교환기능기를 갖는 아민형 PP-g-VBC-EDA 흡착제를 제조하고, 회분식 흡착실험을 통해 음이온 영양염에 대한 흡착특성을 평가하였다. 흡착평형은 랭뮤어 흡착등온식과 잘 일치하였으며, 그로부터 계산한 단일층 최대흡착량은 $NO_3-N$이 59.9 mg/g, $PO_4-P$가 111.4 mg/g이었다. 흡착에너지는 8 kJ/mol 이상으로 이온교환이 주된 흡착메커니즘임을 나타내었다. 흡착속도는 이차흡착 속도모델식과 일치하였으며 9.8-36.7 kJ/mol의 흡착활성화에너지를 나타내어 화학적 흡착과정에 의해 지배되었음을 시사하였다. 흡착에 대한 열역학 함수 ${\Delta}G^o$, ${\Delta}H^o$${\Delta}S^o$는 음이온 영양염에 대한 PP-g-VBC-EDA의 흡착이 자발적이고 발열적으로 일어남을 나타내었다. PP-g-VBC-EDA 흡착제는 0.1 N HCl 용액을 이용한 세척과정을 통해 재생할 수 있었다.

면섬유에 대한 Methyl Methacrylate의 유화 그라프트 중합 (Emulsion Graft Copolymerization of Methyl Methacrylate onto Cotton Fiber)

  • Emulsion graft copolymerization of MMA onto cotton fiber using Ce(IV) salt as an initiator was carried out. Graft yield and graft efficiency were observed according to the kinds and concentrations of emulsifier and polymerization conditions. The physical properties of MMA grafted cotton fabric were investigated. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The heighest graft yield of emulsion graft polymerization occurred at the concentration below cmc of emulsifier, which was different from emulsion polymerization. Nonionic sur- factant as an emulsifier was more effective than anionic one. 2. The highest graft yield was obtained at the initiator concentration $1{\times}10^{-2}mol/l$. The viscometric molecular weight of PMMA was in the order of 106. 3. As reaction time increased, the graft yield increased but the graft efficiency decreased. 4. Elevation of reaction temperature resulted in increase of graft yield. The apparent activation energy of MMA graft polymerization was 4.72 Kcal/mol. 5. Physical properties of MMA grafted cotton fabric varied with increase of grafting. Thickness and stiffness showed a noticeable increase, whereas tensile strength and elongation was slightly increased. Crease recovery increased as the graft yield increase up to $50\%$ and decreased thereafter.

감마선을 이용한 케나프 펄프 표면의 Poly(ethylene glycol) Methacrylate 그라프트 중합반응 (Surface Graft Polymerization of Poly(ethylene glycol) Methacrylate onto Kenaf Pulp using Gamma-ray Irradiation)

  • Pulp is typically used for paper industry to manufacturing various types of papers. However simply chemical modification makes enable the pulp to a wide range of application in various industrial fields. To bring the polymerization the gamma ray irradiated on the mixture of kenaf and PEGMA in various dose ranges from 20 to 60 kGy. As a results, the graft degree of 20.0% was obtained from 475 g of gamma ray irradiated pulp and PEGMA. After the polymerization, the chemical structure and morphology of the surfaces were examined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and scanning electron microscope. Chemical structure of grafted pulp has significantly growth in carbonyl content with increasing the radiation dose. Also surface morphology was distinctly changed with decreased the degree of roughness and increasing the diameter. These results were explained gamma ray irradiation improve performance of graft polymerization efficiency.

양이온 교환막에 의한 암모니아 흡착 특성 (Adsorption Characteristic of Ammonia by the Cation-Exchange Membrane)

  • 본 연구에서는 복막 투석 시스템에 있어서, 요소를 가수분해 후 발생하는 암모니아를 제거하기 위하여, 방사선 그라프트 중합법에 의해 다공성 중공사막에 술폰산기($SO_3H$)를 도입시킨 양이온 교환막(이때 얻어진 막을 SS막이라 함)을 합성하였다. 여기에 금속이온(Cu, Ni, Zn)을 이용하여 그라프트 체인을 가교시킨 이온가교형 양이온 교환막(이때 얻어진 막을 SS-M막이라 함)을 합성하여, SS막과 SS-M막의 투과 유속과 암모니아의 흡착에 대하여 고찰하였다. 술폰산기 밀도에 따라 순수투과 유속은 술폰산기 밀도가 높아짐에 따라 투과 유속이 급격히 감소하였으나, 금속 이온이 도입됨에 따라, 투과 유속이 빨라진다는 것을 알 수 있었다. SS막의 경우 암모니아 흡착은 이온교환기 용량에 따라 1 : 1로 흡착되었고, SS-M막 보다 높은 흡착량을 나타났다. 또한, SS막, SS-M막 모두 pH 9에서 가장 높은 흡착량을 나타냈다.
