Performance Analysis of Batch Process Terrain Relative Navigation Using Area based Terrain Roughness Index for Lunar Lander (영역기반 지형 험준도 지수를 이용한 달착륙선의 일괄처리방식 지형상대항법 성능분석)

  • Batch process TRN(Terrain Relative Navigation) using an altimeter is a technique to correct position by correlating a series of periodically measured terrain height profile and terrain height candidate profile of the DEM(Digital Elevation Map). However, it is generally known that the performance of TRN is degraded when measured terrain height profile and terrain height candidate profiles of the DEM are similar at hill or repetitive terrain. In this paper, area based terrain slope roughness index[11] is applied and area based terrain curvature roughness index which can detect similarity of terrain in ROI(Region Of Interest) is proposed to overcome this problem. Applying terrain roughness indexes to terrain relative navigation system of lunar lander, it is shown that TRN using area based terrain roughness results in improved performance compared to conventional trajectory based method through simulation.

  • Predictive control is a very practical method that obtain the current input that minimizes the future errors of the reference command and state by use of the predictive model of the controlled object, and can also consider the constraints of the state and input. Although there have been studies in which predictive control is applied to mobile robots, performance has not been optimized as various control parameters for determining control performance have been arbitrarily specified. In this paper, we apply the genetic algorithm to the trajectory tracking control of a mobile robot with input constraints in order to minimize the trajectory tracking errors through control parameter tuning, and apply the quadratic programming Hildreth method to reflect the input constraints. Through the computer simulation, the superiority of the proposed method is confirmed by comparing with the existing method.

  • Improved EKF suggests variable path prediction to reduce the event traffic caused by the information sharing among multi-users in networked virtual environment. The three dimensional virtual space is maintained consistently by endless status information exchange among dispersed users, and periodic status transmission brings traffic overhead in network. By using the error between the measured movement trace of dynamic information and the EKF predicted, we propose the method applied to predict the mobile packet of dynamic data which is simultaneously changing. And, the simulation results of DIS dead reckoning algorithms and EKF path prediction is compared here. It followed the specific path and while moving, the proposed method which it proposes predicting with DIS dead reckoning algorithm and to compare to the mobile path of the actual object and it got near it predicts the possibility of knowing it was.

  • A system design and integrated design process for a space launch vehicle were established based on system engineering. With the mission design results for a given payload weight and trajectory, it is possible to perform optimal design by integrating each unit such as propulsion, weight estimation, and aerodynamic force after analysis, during in the system design process. The program is finally configured to verify that the designed vehicle can perform its mission through 3-DOF trajectory optimization simulation. Genetic algorithms are used as the optimization method, and the optimal design results of the variables and parameters to be considered during design are presented.

  • This paper presents the experimental and theoretical results of the dynamic responses of a pendular energy extractor in a two-dimensional wave channel. By adopting a wave maker with varying wave height and period, the dynamic responses of the pendular buoy were experimentally obtained. Furthermore, with the aid of the co-simulation of moving particle analysis and rigid dynamic analysis, the dynamic responses of the pendular system were evaluated. In order to validate the feasibility of the proposed wave power generator, the force tuning of the pendular system with restoring energy was carried out. The results provide proof of concept data for the development and design of a commercial model for horizontal wave power generators in the shoreline area.

  • The apogee manoeuvre of $KOREASAT-1{cdot}2{cdot}3$ is basic elliptical orbit transfer converting orbit plane. The KOREASAT-3 is planed for multi-burn manoeuvres using the liquid apogee engine while the $KOREASAT-1{cdot}2$ used the apogee kick motor that executes a single burn in the apogee of transfer orbit using the solid propellant. This study analyzed the multi-burn manoeuvres using the liquid apogee engine and the propellant control method and developed the simulation tools. For the purpose of precise simulation, We designed tools in the basic of orbit propagation software, COWELL5, that was developed by members of Center for Astrodynamics in Yonsei university and the results can be displayed in 3-D graphic of $STK/VO^{TM}$.

  • 'Sportainment' like Golfzon, which combines the elements of sports and entertainment have a lot of potential and development as new business items in the view of overcome many limitations such as time and place in real sports. For ultimately developing baseball simulation game as 'sportainment', this paper as the early stage suggests the system which can analyze pitching and swing. Unlike speed-gun measurement for moving ball, it uses sensor technology to take information of ball speed and movement and reproduces graphic screen based on the information collected from sensors with graphic technology. Hitter's swing and hit-ball can be measured in the similar way. This baseball simulation game is expected to develop as one of successful indoor spotainment businesses such as Golfzon.

궤도상 위성의 광학관측가능성 해석을 위한 궤도전파 시뮬레이터 개발

  • 이 연구는 우주물체에 대한 광학감시 및 추적을 수행하기 위한 선행연구로, 궤도전파 시뮬레이터를 개발하여 궤도상 위성의 광학관측가능성을 분석하고 광학관측 여부를 판단하는 것을 목표로 한다. 연구의 주 내용은 주어진 궤도정보를 바탕으로 하는 태양동기궤도(Sun-Synchronous Orbit; SSO) 위성, Dawn-dusk 위성, 저궤도(Low Earth Orbit; LEO) 위성, 정지궤도(Geostationary Orbit; GEO) 위성 등 궤도상 위성의 추정궤도 전파와 자국위성의 광학관측가능성 분석으로 구성된다. 각각의 궤도전파 정밀도 및 광학관측가능성 분석성능을 확인하기 위해 AGI(Analytical Graphics Incorporated)사의 STK(Satellite Tool Kit) 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 사용하여 개발된 궤도전파 시뮬레이터와 비교하였다. 시뮬레이션 과정에서 광학관측의 제한조건을, 지구반영(penumbra)과 태양직사광(direct sun)에서만 관측하며, 고도(elevation angle)의 최소값은 20도, 태양고도(Sun elevation angle)의 최대값은 -10도로 설정하였다. 광학관측이 이루어지는 가상의 관측소는 임의로 선정하였으며, 기본적인 관측시간은 1년으로 잡고, 계절의 변화에 따른 광학관측가능성 궤적의 변화를 보기위해 춘하추동에 대해서 각각 3일이내의 기간 동안 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 결과적으로, 우주물체 광학감시 및 추적을 수행하기 위한 광학관측가능성 분석성능은 궤도전파 시뮬레이터 및 초기궤도요소 정밀도, 좌표변환과정 오차 등의 영향을 받으며, 설정된 제한조건에 따라 광학관측 지속시간의 차이가 발생한다. 연구결과를 통해 궤도상 위성의 궤도를 추정하기 위한 위성의 궤도전파 시뮬레이터를 개발하고, 자국위성의 관측가능성 분석을 통해 광학감시 및 추적시스템의 운영이 원활히 이루어질 수 있도록 한다.

  • Vehicle engineering analysis in the event of an accident caused by a car built on mechanical design has not been investigated in-depth but relies on the subjective experience knowledge of the investigator. This study analyzed the correlation between the speed, progress, steering, and braking before impact, which is consistent with the final stop position, by drawing a site situation chart using the CAD (CAD) program and repeating 250 crashes using the PC-Crash program. The following situations were investigated: lower impact velocity; greater impact speed of the vehicle, which is not affected significantly by the departure angle; higher vehicle speed, such as the effective impact velocity, after the impact; higher vehicle speed; and lower vehicle speed.   • Recently, many electronic control techniques for vehicles have been developed and applied. One of the technologies can be X-by-wire such as throttle-by-wire, brake-by-wire, steer-by-wire, and etc, in which most of mechanical parts are replaced into electrical wire and actuators. In this study, the effect of throttle-by-wire and brake-by-wire control systems on vehicle velocity control, especially in a school zone, are taken into consideration. The number of accidents reported in school zones is higher than that in other places. The reason for this is that many vehicle drivers do not obey speed limit regulations. Moreover, some of the students are careless while crossing the streets. Therefore, in this study, we attempt to develop a method using throttle-by-wire and brake-by-wire control systems for automatically reducing the vehicle speed such that it will be within the speed limit. First, an engine model and a transmission system model are developed for a specific vehicle model. Second, speed reduction is carried out such that the reduction follows a pre-designed cubic spline trajectory; the trajectory is determined such that rapid deceleration, which causes discomfort to the driver and passengers, can be prevented, for which a fuzzy-PID control algorithm is applied for the trajectory following control. Finally, simulation results are presented to verify the performance of the proposed speed reduction control system.
