In an optical observing system, three pairs of observations at equal time intervals are required for the orbit determination method to obtain orbital information of an unknown space objects. In this paper, we propose a method of estimating a streak for acquiring three pairs of observations using one streak image information. Satellite trajectory simulation data were generated for nine cases using the STK program in order to verify the characteristics of the orbit of space object and estimation performance. Simulation was performed by applying three approaches that can estimate the next streak position after a few seconds from one streak image information, and the estimation performance was evaluated. Linear vector method and Kalman Filter method based on the linear assumption tend to increase the estimation error in the region where the nonlinearity is large. However estimation method using the polynomial curve fitting based on the least square method showed smaller and uniform error result than the previous methods.
The existence. bifurcation. and the orbital stability of periodic motions, which is called nonlinear normal mode, in a nonlinear dual mass Hamiltonian system. which has 6th order homogeneous polynomial as a nonlinear term. are studied in this paper. By direct integration of the equations of motion. Poincare Map. which is a mapping of a phase trajectory onto 2 dimensional surface in 4 dimensional phase space. is obtained. And via the Birkhoff-Gustavson canonical transformation, the analytic expression of the invariant curves in the Poincare Map is derived for small value of energy. It is found that the nonlinear system. which is considered in this paper. has 2 or 4 nonlinear normal modes depending on the value of nonlinear parameter. The Poincare Map clearly shows that the bifurcation modes are stable while the mode from which they bifurcated out changes from stable to unstable.
For many decades, the railway was constructed using tracks with jointed rails of relatively short lengths. The joints cause many drawbacks in the track and lead to signeficant maintenance cost. so, railroad engineers became interested in eliminating joints. Continuous welded rail(CWR) track has many advantages over the conventional jointed-rail track. but, in the case of the elimination of rail joints, it may cause the track to be suddenly buckled laterally by thermal loads. In this paper, firstly, 3-D CWR track model and CWRB program exactly considering the influence of tie are developed far linear static and buckling analysis using finite element method. Characteristics of CWR track model are using 7-dofs beam element as rail, Offset technic exactly considering centroid axies difference of track components(rail, rail-pad-fastener, tie), and Thermal gradient considering thermal difference of top flange and bottom flange in rail section.. second,, Through the static and linear buckling analysis by CWRB, Influences of various track components (rail, ballast, fastener, tie and so on..) on CWR track behavior and stability was characterized.
In this paper, numerical integration method using operational matrix of integration is studied. Using the operational matrix of integration, modified fixed point iteration method is introduced in order to solve rapidly an initial value problem for non-linear equation of motion. As an example, an initial value problem for orbital motion is considered. Through the numerical example, it is shown that the algorithm is efficient from the computational time point of view.

In this study, the variation of track impact factor according to the spring stiffness change rate of sleeper resilience pad was analyzed based on field measurements. In addition, the correlation between field measurement results and 7 million fatigue test results was verified. The fatigue effect diagram of the sleeper resilience pads was presented considering the nonlinear deterioration characteristics of the sleeper resilience pads used for the STEDEF track. Based on the field measurement results, the nonlinear characteristics of the track impact factor for the spring stiffness change rate over 30% of sleeper resilience pad on the track impact factor-track support stiffness diagram were analyzed to be consistent with the fatigue test results.

Recently, an interest on joint behavior between adjacent concrete slab tracks has increasing due to large application of such track system. Dowel bars are widely used to improve load transfer capacity across the joints. Dowel bars reduce the deflections and stresses by transferring the load between the slabs. This study proposes the lumped shear spring model to efficiently model dowel joints of adjacent slabs. This model includes bearing stiffness between dowel bar and concrete as well as dowel gap. Strength of the proposed spring model is evaluated based on Concrete Capacity Design method under the assumption of shear failure mode in the joints. Experiments are also performed up to failure to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed model. It has been observed that the proposed model is able to predict initial nonlinearity due to dowel gap, and capture material nonlinearity of the test slabs. Thus, it is recommended that the proposed model can be effectively applied to the dowel joints of concrete slab track.

This paper presents a mission orbit design method for spacecraft which use the sun-synchronous and ground repeat orbits. In this work, we have proposed a new design procedure, "Nonlinear simulation-based numerical optimization technique" using the commercial S/W's such as STK (Satellite Tool kit) and Matlab, which are widely adopted S/W's in the area of orbital mechanics and engineering analysis. Inclusion of all the perturbation effects on the spacecraft not only can more precisely satisfy the mission requirements for sun-synchronicity and repeated ground track, and also operational requirements such as minimum change in the S/C local time, maximization of the contact time with a specified ground station, etc. can be appropriately considered. Design examples for LEO sun-synchronous mission are presented to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed method in this paper.

In general, station relocation for a geostationary orbit satellite is formulated as a request for moving the spacecraft from its present longitude to the target longitude within a given time interval. The station relocation maneuver is composed of drift orbit insertion maneuver and target orbit insertion maneuver. During station relocation, the satellite orbit is continually influenced by the non-spherical geo-potential. When we plan a maneuver, if we do not consider the influence, the satellite may not be relocate to desired longitude successfully. To solve this problem, we applied the linearised orbit transfer equation to acquire maneuver time and delta-V. Nonlinear simulation for the station relocation of multiple satellites is performed in order to verify the distance between two satellites.
Hanging sleepers are frequently observed in the ballasted track with the rail of high rigidity. These hanging sleepers at the high speed line could cause such large dynamic force compared to those at the conventional line. This dynamic force would, in turn, deteriorate train running stability as well as riding comfort, and accelerate irregularity of track and failure of track materials, leading to a sharp increase in track maintenance cost. When the wheel-rail contact spring exhibits nonlinear behavior and some components of the system like hanging sleeper exhibit bi-linear behaviors, an effective analytical method is proposed for train-track interactions. The verification of the present method is carried out comparing numerical results by the present method and those by Ono's method of RTRI.
