Study the effects of grain shape on the erosive burning (그레인 형상에 따른 침식연소 효과 연구)

  • A typical unsteady internal ballistic analysis model was developed to take account the erosive burning of a solid rocket motor. The variance of local velocity and pressure along grain surface were analyzed by using the continuity and momentum equation. The coefficients of erosive burning were drew from comparing experiment data with analysis. It was investigated that the grain shapes of propellant affect the erosive burning.

  • Heat pumps transfer heat by circulating a substance called a refrigerant through a cycle of evaporation and condensation. But Heat pumps system by only using heat-source is not efficient. Because the mean temperature of North Korean winter season is low, economy of air heat-source heat pump descend. This paper is practiced the simulation on evaluation criteria for Heat pump heating and cooling systems to Rolling Stock. Efficiency of the heat pump in order improving from certainly the development of the technique will be able to prevent a freezing actual condition must proceed. As a result, Below $-10^{\circ}C$ used heating and cooling systems of heat pump format even in cold winter season and is serviceable confirmed with heat source supply circle of the Rolling Stock.

  • Rock joint roughness obtained from the camera-type 3D scanner was classified into waviness and unevenness. The classification criteria were established in the previous study; digital filtering was used to distinguish one from another. The classified and original profiles were used to produce metal moulds. For accurate machining of the moulds, the WEDM(Wire-cut Electric Discharge Machining) was adopted. Specimens were cast using high strength gypsum, and joint shear tests were performed by varying normal stress from low value to high one. Roughness mobilization characteristics depending on the asperity scale and the applied normal stress were investigated. A new equation was proposed to predict shear strength of rock joint, which can consider the characteristics of roughness mobilization and roughness parameters. The roughness quantification composed of waviness and unevenness was found to be a useful method to predict the joint shear strength.

Protection of Peach Trees from Bacterial Shot Hole with Bordeaux Mixture Spray during the Postharvest Season (복숭아 수확후 보르도액 살포에 의한 세균성구멍병 방제효과)

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the prevention of bacterial shot hole by Bordeaux mixture when it was sprayed on peach trees after harvest. bordeaux mixture was sprayed on \`Mibaeko\` peach trees 1 to 3 times after mid September, and the occurrence of bacterial shot hole was examined in the next year. Bacterial shot hole in leaves appeared from mid May and thereafter increased gradually. The more times was sprayed Bordeaux mixture, the less peaches were diseased with bacterial shot hole. At the beginning of August, the peach harvest time, the disease incidence of the untreated control plot was 27.4 to 38.1%, while the disease incidence was 9.7 to 31.8% when Bordeaux mixture was sprayed. The control value ranged from 16.5 to 64.6%. Occurrence of the fruit disease was similar to that of the leaf disease. Incidence of the fruit disease in the untreated control was 17.2 to 21.6%, but incase of the chemical treatment, it was 5.0 to 12.2 %, showing 41.9 to 70.9% of the control value. Chemical injury on peach leaves were not found in the 4-12 and 408 types, but occurred in some degrees in the 6-6 type of Bordeaux mixture.

Estimation of Carrying Capacity on the Mountainous National Park Using the Impact Rating Class of Trail (I) -In the case study of Bukhansan National park- (등산로의 환경피해도를 활용한 산악형 국립공원의 수용능력 추정(I) -북한산국립공원을 사례로-)

  • Trail might be the primary recreational space to appear the use impact by visitors on ecological space in National park. On the basis of this concept, the carrying capacity was estimated on the trail. Impact rating class and pattern of passersby were surveyed on the 22 valid trails in Bukhansan National Park. Using two variables, the width of trail and amount of passersby, the correlation coefficient was analysed and the regression model was derived by raising x to a higher power. And carrying capacity estimation equation was devised by considering the pay fee visitors and average passersby in a trail section. With carrying capacity estimation equation to apply Bukansan National Park, it is desired that maximum carrying capacity is about 3 million persons a year under conditions of trail width 2.2m when National Park Authority wants to keep the existing management level. If they strengthen the management goal far resource conservation like that they want to keep the trail width 2.0m, the number of visitors might be decreased to about 2 million persons a year.

  • Deformation analysis of injection molded articles whose geometry is considered as the assembly of thin flat plates has been conducted. For the in-mold analysis, thermo-viscoelastic stress calculation of thermo-rheologically simple amorphous polymer and in-mold deformation calculation considering the in-plane mold constraint have been done. Free volume theory has been used to represent the non-equilibrium density state during the fast cooling. At ejection, instantaneous deformation takes place due to the redistribution of in-mold residual stress. During out-of-mold cooling after ejection, thermoelastic model based on the effective temperature has been adopted for the calculation of out-of-mold deformation. In this study, emphasis is also made on the treatment with regard to lateral constraint types during molding process. Two typical mold geometries are used to test the numerical simulation modeling developed in this study.

  • The resting cells of Candida sp. SY16 produced a large amount of mannosylerythritol lipid as a biosurfactant when incubated in the distilled water containing only the carbon source. The resting cells exhibited the highest production at 20 g cells per liter on the soybean oil of 75 g/1 as a sole substrate and pH 4∼5 in the shaking culture. Under the optimal conditions, the biosurfactant was extracellularly produced to 58 g/1 after 120 h in jar fermentor, and the yield became higher than that obtained by using the glowing cells of the strain in batch fermentation.

Development of an Air-Water Combined Cooling System (공냉-수냉 혼합냉각계통 개발)

  • A long term passive cooling system is considered as the most important safety feature for the nuclear design after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident in 2011. The conventional active pump driven safety systems are not available during a station Black Out (SBO) accident. The current design requirement on cooling time of the Passive Auxiliarly Feedwater System (PAFS) is about 8 hours only. To meet the 72 hours cooling time, the pool capacity of cooling water tank should be increased as much as 3~4 times larger than that of current water cooling tank. In order to extend the cooling time for 72 hours, a new passive air-water combined cooling system is proposed. This paper provides the feasibility of the combined passive air-water cooling system. The current pool capacity of water cooling system is preserved, and the cooling capability is extended by an additional air cooler.

Modeling and Simulation of Microlens Fabricated by Modified LIGA Process (변형 LIGA 공정을 통해 제작된 Microlens의 모델링 및 시뮬레이션)

  • In this paper, we present modeling and simulation of microlens formation by means of a deep X-ray lithography followed by a thermal treatment of a PMMA (Polymethylmethacrylate) sheet. According to this modeling, X-ray irradiation causes the decrease of molecular weight of PMMA, which in turn decreases the glass transition temperature and consequently causes a net volume increase during the thermal cycle resulting in a swollen microlens. In this modeling, the free volume theory including the relaxation process during the cooling process was considered. The simulation results indicate that the modeling in this study is able to predict the fabricated microlens shapes and the variation pattern of the maximum heights of microlens which depends on the conditions of the thermal treatment. The prediction model could be applied to optimization of microlens fabrication process and to designing a micro mold insert for micromolding processes.

A Derivation of the Standard Design Guideline for Crashworthiness of High Speed Train with Power Cars (동력집중식 고속열차의 충돌안전도 표준설계 가이드라인 도출)

  • Through this study, the standard design guidelines for high speed train with power cars have been derived to meet the crashworthiness requirements of the Korean rollingstock safety regulation. The crashworthiness regulation requires some performance requirements for two heavy collision accident scenarios; a train-to-train collision at the relative speed of 36 kph, and a collision against a standard deformable obstacle of 15 ton at 110 kph. A standard high speed train composition was defined as 2PC-2ET-6T with 17ton axle load, similar to KTX-2 for the Honam express line. Using theoretical and numerical analyses, some crashworthy design guidelines were derived in terms of mean crush forces and energy absorptions for major crushable components. The derived design guidelines were evaluated and improved using one dimensional spring-mass dynamic simulation. It is shown from the simulation results that the suggested design guidelines can easily satisfy the domestic crashworthiness requirements.
