  • This paper suggested the vibration characteristic improvement by variation mode of ring type ultrasonic motor. Design for the piezoelectric ceramic and elastic body of stator were calculated by the finite element method(FEM) that consider the resonance frequency, vibration mode and coupling efficiency etc. Through the result of vibration analysis from 6 order mode to 8 mode, the 7 order mode was gained very an excellent results that it was the coupling efficient, minimum power loss and bending vibration value. Here over 7 order mode, was acquired that an output current for input voltage was very a large increased results. The result of vibration calculation, from thickness 0.5[mm] to 2[mm], know the fact that the vibration displacement at 0.5[mm] is an high value too. From such analysis result, this paper was manufactured the ultrasonic motor of outer diameter 50[mm], inter 22[mm] having the about 43.86[KHz] resonance frequency. We have gated that a simulation result is 42.2[KHz] and an experiment result is 43.86[KHz]. Then, a propriety of this paper was established the result almost similar to though comparison, investigation of simulation and experiment result.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the effects of whole-body vibration and to provide scientific basis for effective exercise by analyzing the differences in lower extremity muscle activation according to squat position during whole body vibration. In this study, muscle activation during whole-body vibration was measured in 10 healthy males in their 20s with no orthopedic conditions during standing posture, deep squat, half squat, and heel raise squat. Muscle activation was compared by measuring the root mean square (RMS) with electromyography electrodes attached to lateral gastrocnemius, tibialis anterior, vastus lateralis, and biceps femoris. The vibration intensity was applied in combinations of the volumes of 50 and 80 and the frequencies of 10, 25, and 40 Hz in each posture. The results showed that there were differences in muscle activations of external gastrocnemius, tibialis anterior, and vastus lateralis among the position(p<.05). The heal raise squat was found to have a high muscle activation effect.

  • PMMA (Polymethyle-methacrylate) optical components have recently been increasingly used as one of the important part of the high precision equipments. This research presents comparatively the surface preparation of light incident plane, LIP (Light Incident Plane) of LGP (Light Guide Panel) by end milling, high speed shaping, and vibration assisted high speed shaping. From several experiments, the results show that the surface quality was improved in high speed shaping and the vibration assisted HSS show not only decreasing waviness and breakage also raising the straightness property. For applying high speed shaping and vibration assisted HSS, an additional tool post was developed and experimentally used.

  • The equation of motion of the drill string along the excavation trajectory was analyzed using the Lagrangian approach together with the finite element method (FEM). A drill string of circular cross section is constructed by combining a plurality of circular axes each having 12 degrees of freedom (DOF). FEM analysis can observe the vibration and dynamic changes of the entire drill string, and it is easy to apply comprehensive boundary conditions to reproduce the simulation of a realistic drill string. In this study, the constructed FEM motel was simulated. In order to apply the FEM program to the actual drill trajectory, the dynamic analysis of the curved beam was verified by comparison with the actual values. The dynamic change over time was observed.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel type valveless micro-pump that uses extensional vibration mode of traveling wave as a volume transporting means for solving some problems about check valves, essential parts of usual pumps. The proposed pump consists of two piezoelectric ceramic rings and a metal body located in the middle of them respectively. Because the drift of bended surface that results from the traveling wave excitation controls the fluid flow, check valves are not needed in this pump model. In accordance with the variation of the pump body dimension, we analyzed the vibration displacement characteristics of pump model, determined the optimal design condition, fabricated the prototype pump from the analysis results and evaluated its efficiency.

  • Acrylic resins (ethyl methacrylate-2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate-n-butyl acrylate-acrylic acid EHBCs) containing 80% of solid were synthesized. Then, high-solid coatings (ethyl methacrylate-2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate-n-butyl acrylate-acrylic acid/hexamethylene diisocyanate-biuret : EHBCNs) were prepared by curing of the acrylic resin with curing agent hexamethylene diisocyanate-biuret at room temperature. The cure time of prepared coatings EHBCN-4 (EHBC-4 : $T_{g}$ = $0^{\circ}C$) and EHBCN-7 (EHBC-7 : $T_{g}$ = 3$0^{\circ}C$), measured by rigid-body pendulum method, was recorded 6.2 hours and 4.5 hours, respectively. Dynamic viscoelastic experiment revealed the glass transition temperature of EHBCN-4 and EHBCN-7 to be $14^{\circ}C$ and $39^{\circ}C$, respectively. It was found that the adhesion and flexural properties among various properties of coatings were enhanced by the incorporation of caprolactone acrylate monomer into the acrylic resins.

  • The purpose of this study focuses on the prediction time and location of turning-point of typhoon tracks using the water vapor images of Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) which has a very short observation interval. It targets a more accurate prediction of turning-point of typhoon tracks through the relationship between dry slot and northern/southern oscillations of jet stream. Jet stream moves by the position of jet streak and the ${\upsilon}$-component velocity of geostrophic wind. If the ${\upsilon}$-component of geostrophic wind gets stronger toward south, jet stream develops into a circular jet. In that condition, dry slot in satellite water vapor imagery extends toward south, and typhoon track turns as the distance of curved moisture band (CMB) gets narrowed down. If the interval of CMB is below $15^{\circ}$ of latitude, the typhoon track is turning toward north or northeast within 24 hours. As a result, typhoon track showed that when dry slot position was located less than $32^{\circ}N$, typhoon turned its track at $20-23^{\circ}N$ ($1^{th}$ Kong-Rey 2007 and $17^{th}$ Jelawt at 2012), and when in $35^{\circ}N$ above, it turned at $27^{\circ}N$ ($4^{th}$ Man-yi 2007).

  • Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of WBVE on biomechanical factor analysis of drop landing jumps before and after a four week training program. Methods: Participants were divided into two group: VEG (n=5, age: $25.7{\pm}2.3yrs$, height: $170{\pm}7.6cm$, weight: $69.3{\pm}8.3kg$) and OEG (n=5, age: $24.6{\pm}3.4yrs$, height: $164{\pm}4.9cm$, weight: $58.8{\pm}9.2kg$). Ten infrared cameras (Vicon, UK) with a sampling rate of 100 Hz were used in two GRF measurement systems (AMTI, USA). Results: The variability of the center of mass was largest at the falling phase, and there was a great risk of injury when landing after the jump. Second, the jumping heights of the VEG (vibration exercise group) were higher than those of the OEG (only exercise group), regardless of training period. Third, there were significant differences in the hip joint P1 (flexion) and knee joint P2 (extension) between the exercise groups after 4 weeks of training. However, there were no significant differences among training periods or phases. Conclusion: regardless of training periods, the VEG showed increased jump height compared with the OEG, but the consistency between the jump height and the lower joint power could not be determined.

  • This research presents an analytical model to investigate vibration due to ball bearing waviness in a rotating system supported by two or more ball bearings, taking account of the centrifugal force and gyroscopic moment of the ball. The waviness of rolling elements is modeled by the sinusoidal function, and it is incorporated into the position vectors of the race curvature center. The Hertzian con tact theory is applied to calculate the elastic deflection and nonlinear contact force while the rotor has translational and angular motions. Both the centrifugal force and gyroscopic moment of the ball and the waviness of the rolling elements are included in the kinematic constraints and force equilibrium equations of a ball to derive the nonlinear governing equations of the rotor, which are solved by using the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg algorithm to determine the new position of the rotor. The proposed model is validated by the comparison of the results of the prior researchers. This research shows that the centrifugal force and gyroscopic moment of the ball plays the important role in determining the bearing frequencies, i.e. the principal frequencies, their harmonics and the sideband frequencies resulting from the waviness of the rolling elements of ball bearing. It also shows that the bearing vibration frequencies are generated by the waviness interaction not only between the rolling elements of one ball bearing but also between those of two or more ball bearings constrained by the rotor.
