This study in order to achieve the research was carried out as follows: First, the cluster analysis based on demographic characteristics for consumer on the basis of three types segmentation on market was conducted. Market A was consisted of a well-educated, high-income and young bracket. Market B was consisted of a well-educated, high-income and middle-aged bracket. Market C was consisted of a low-income and middle-aged class. Second, consumer's positioning map was analyzed based on perceiving data which are products' functional, emotional, and self-expressive benefits about consumer's feeling beef products. This study was analyzed each relative brand advantage and structure of competition on segmented market by conjoining each brands positioning map and feature vectors map. By the result of the analysis, each brand's positioning strategy was devised. As a result of the study, the hoengseong hanwoo is competitive about all kinds of market. We chooses that hoengseong hanwoo's target is A market, because that brand is evaluated as a high-ranked quality by high-class image of luxury price, quality, brand image. For management improvement sake, this brand(the hoengseong hanwoo) is needed to effort for promoting consumer's awareness about safety and reliability.
This study aims to suggest the framework of functional assessment on lotic area based on HGM(Hydrogeomorphic) approach targeting Wetland Protected Areas which are in the type of river channel, and to set up the fundamental data as a reference wetland. A total of 10 factors in terms of hydrology, biogeochemistry, plant habitat and animal habitat was analyzed based on the original approach of HGM and each Functional Capacity Index(FCI) of those factors was calculated. As the result of the modified FCI analysis, Damyang riverine wetland which is with artificial river bank had high values in the variables of area ratio of actual vegetation in the foreland, the number of plant per area and the area ratio of Salix spp., and those values were highly reflected on the factors of Nutrient Cycling(947,668.00), Species Richness and Maintain Characteristic Plant Communites(6.39) and Maintain Spatial Structure of Habitat(11.00). The Hanbando wetland which is keeping the natural bank had higher values in the variables of structural scale and species diversity, and the those values were highly reflected on the factors of Energy Dissipation(17,805.16), Subsurface Storage of Water(0.54), Removal of Imported Elements and Compounds(103,052.73), Maintain Characteristic Detrital Biomass(2.31), Maintenance of Interspersion and Connectivity (6.50), Species Diversity of Benthic macro-invertebrates(1.60) and Species Diversity of Vertebrate & Species Number of Other Animals(2.52/ 151.50), compared to the Damyang Riverine Wetland.
Recently, the quantities of chemical material are increasing in chemical industries. At that time, release accident is increasing due to aging of equipment, mechanical failure, human error, etc. and industrial complexes found community properties in a specific area. For that matter, chemical release accident can lead to hight probability of large disaster. There is a need to analyze the boundaries optimal sensor placement calculated by selecting release scenarios through release condition and wether condition in a chemical process for release detection and response. This paper is to investigate chlorine release accident scenarios using COMSOL. Through accident scenarios, a numerical calculation is studied to determine optimized sensor placement with weight of detection probability, detection time and concentration. In addition, validity of sensor placement is improved by robustness analysis about unpredicted accident scenarios. Therefore, this verifies our studies can be effectively applicable on any process. As mention above, the result of this study can help to place mobile sensor, to track gas release based concentration data.

The purposes of this study were to explore food-related lifestyle segments for commercialization of ready-to-eat Korean foods, to identify their demographic characteristics, and to evaluate perceptions and preferences related to Korean foods. The subjects consisted of 266 Koreans and 212 non-Koreans in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Daejeon, Korea including in Grapevine of the US. Koreans' scores for food-related lifestyle of taste seeking and convenience seeking were significantly higher than those of non-Koreans. Through cluster analysis, four segments for Koreans were identified: health-oriented group, diet-oriented group, rationality-oriented group, and price-sensitive group. The clusters for non-Koreans were classified into four segments: taste-oriented group, rationality-oriented group, diet-oriented group, and convenience-oriented group. Significant differences were detected among the four segments in terms of demographic characteristics. There were significant differences in perceptions and preferences related to Korean foods by food-related lifestyle segments of non-Koreans. Japchae, Bibimbap, and Naengmyeon were selected as the most likely to purchase ready-to-eat food items for Korean clusters, whereas Bulgoggi and Bibimbap were selected for non-Korean clusters. This study shows that food companies wanting to promote commercialization of Korean foods should consider characteristics of each segment of food-related lifestyle.
To investigate the users' activity, impact and psychology in Naejang Temple district at Mt. Naejang National Park in Korea, users' density and questionnaire survey at three major picnic areas and passenger counting at major pass were executed and environmental impacton on the site was surveyed. The total number of visitors showed stability at the level of one million persons every year after 1984. Users' impact was much severe along the main trail, the upper cablecar station and the slope from the observatory to Keumsun Valley, The maximum momentary number of users was estimated as 53,000 persons in autumn. Approximately 20% of the total number of visitor used Keumsun Valley and Weonjeok Valley area and 80% of visitors left after using only grassland and cablecar. The visitors' characteristics was similiar to the type of long-distanced national park and the main visiting purpose was to see autumn leaves. The psychological satisfaction did not very significantly as to increasing user's speace. As a result of varimax rotated factor analysis, the 1st factor, most affecting users' psychological satisfaction, was related to landscape and consisted of nature disturbance, crowdedness, noisiness, cleanness, in order of importance. The 2nd factor was related to facilities and consisted of number of toilet, number of waste-baskets, amount of drinking water, safety, in order of importance.
The distributions of phytoplankton community are investigated from 29 reservoirs in Yeongsan and Seomjin River Basins, Korea. As a microalgal flora, a total of 424 species of phytoplankton were identified. They were 157 Chlorophyceae, 161 Bacillariophyceae, 39 Cyanophyceae, and 67 other algal taxa. The phytoplankton diversity were low in stream type reservoirs such as Kumho, Youngsan and Youngam Reservoirs. The population density of phytoplankton ranged from 29 cells $mL^{-1}$ to 53,161 cells $mL^{-1}$. The dominant phytoplankton species more than 20% of total standing crops were $Asterionella$$formosa$, $Aulacoseira$$ambigua$, $Aulacoseira$$distans$, $Aulacoseira$$granulata$, $Cyclotella$ sp., $Synedra$$acus$, $Coelastrum$$reticulatum$, $Pandorina$$morum$, $Scenedesmus$$arcuatus$, $Aphanothece$$clathrata$, $Microcystis$$aeruginosa$, $Phormidium$ sp. The concentration of chlorophyll $a$ ranged from 0.41 mg $m^{-3}$~220.72 mg $m^{-3}$, and showed highest concentration in Gaecho-je. The concentrations of TN and TP have no clear relationships with chlorophyll $a$ concentrations.

This study was conducted to investigate the germination rate, fat acidity and lipoxygenase activity of brown rice after storage of 6 and 12 weeks at high temperature ($35^{\circ}C$) with fifteen Korean and two Japanese rice varieties. Germination rate in rough rice and palatability value in cooked rice by rice taster were lower with longer storage period, while protein content, fat acidity, and lipoxygenase activity in brown rice were higher with longer storage period. Fat acidify was negatively correlated with germination rate. However fat acidity was positively correlated with lipoxygenase activity. Seventeen varieties were classified into two groups on the basis of germination rate, fat acidity and lipoxygenase activity after 12 weeks' storage at high temperature; Group I including eleven varieties of Odaebyeo, Sangmibyeo, Unkwangbyeo, Ilpumbyeo, Nampyeongbyeo, Ilmibyeo, Donganbyeo, Jungsanbyeo, Koshihikari, Hitomebore and Chucheongbyeo showed high germination rate, low fat acidity and low lipoxygenase activity, while Group II including six varieties of Sindongjinbyeo, Hoanbyeo, Gyehwabyeo, Daeyabyeo, Hopyeongbyeo, and Dongin 1 showed lower germination rate, high fat acidity and high lipoxygenase activity.
Headwater streams provide various microhabitats, resulting in high diversity of macroinvertebrate community. In this study, we compared the differences of communities between two adjacent headwater streams (Jangjeon stream (GRJ; GRJ1-GRJ5) and Haanmi stream (GRH; GRH1-GRH3)) in Jungwang and Gariwang mountains, Gangwon-do and evaluated the effects of habitat condition to the macroinvertebrates community composition. In order to characterize the macroinvertebrate communities and extract influential environmental factors, we applied to Cluster analysis (CA), Indicator species analysis and Non-metric multidimensional scaling (NMDS). Total 33,613 individuals in 3 phyla, 5 classes, 13 orders, 51 families, and 114 taxa (genera or species) were collected. Gammarus sp. was dominant at the upper stream of GRJ, whereas Chironomidae spp. was abundant at GRH and the downstream of GRJ. The CA classified samples into six clusters (1-6) reflecting spatial and temporal variation of benthic macroinvertebrate communities. Benthic macroinvertebrate community composition was significantly different between two adjacent streams. Sweltsa sp. 1, Psilotreta kisoensis, Rhyacophila shikotsuensis and Serratella setigera were identified as representative indicator species for clusters 1, 2, 3 and 5, respectively. Similar to CA results, NMDS revealed the spatial and temporal differences of benthic macroinvertebrate communities, indicating the difference of community composition as well as microhabitat condition. Forest composition, proportion of boulders (>256 mm), and water velocity were main factors affecting the macroinvertebrate community composition.

To understand the effects of ocean-dumping of organic wastes on bacteria, bacterial abundance and production, and hydrolytic activities of aminopeptidase (AMPase) and ${\beta}$-glucosidase (${\beta}$-GLCase) were measured 5 times in the euphotic zone of the dumping and non-dumping areas of the East Sea from April 1996 to September 1997. Comparing the depth-integrated values of phytoplankton biomass and bacterial parameters over the euphotic zone of dumping area with those of non-dumping area, we found that activities of ${\beta}$-GLCase in the oceanic dumping area were always higher than those in the oceanic non-dumping area. Also, thymidine-based bacterial production always correlated significantly with leucine-based bacterial production in dumping area (balanced growth), but not in non-dumping area (unbalanced growth). These results seem to be bacterial responses to continuous dumping of organic matter into the dumping area. Further, a relationship between bacterial abundance and production was significant in dumping area, but insignificant in non-dumping area, indicating that control mechanisms of bacterial abundance were different in two areas. Relationships between other bacterial parameters varied with areas and seasons, suggesting that bacteria might be regulated by different factors in spring and summer. Further studies are required to test whether these seasonal variabilities of regulating factor are associated with changes in temperature, temperature-related phenomena, or characteristics of wastes.
