  • Military Geography is a literature studying the application of geographical elements to military behaviour. The elements of military geography including topography greatly influences on building military art and theory. The military art applied on korean pennisula from the period of ancient three countries(Koguryeo, Shilla, Paekche) has been developed maintaining consistent stream reflecting topographic features. Despite the close relationship between building of military art and military geography's elements, the study for korean military geography has been depressed and the discourses of literature has been insufficient. But, in the western study of military geography, the study vitalization efforts studying military peace keeping and humanitarism activity are ongoing. Based on the current trend of western study and the analysis of existing korean study, this treatise proposes three plans to improve the study and education of korean military geography. The key contents of plans are comprised with the improvement of education curriculum, the construction of council between relevant organism, and the installation of subdivision in relevant geographical society. The possibility shaping up the identity of korean military geography as a common literature can be increased by enhancing the study toward peace and humanitarism and specifying the method for development as noted on this study.

  • Polynitrogen molecules are of great interest as potential high energy-density materials, and hence such structures of various isomers of nitrogen clusters have been calculated using molecular modeling techniques by the researchers from various sectors of scientific institutions. In this article, the predicted meta-stable structures of these hypothetical molecules have been thoroughly reviewed.

  • In this paper, the RADANT phase scanning scheme and the transmission-type loaded line phase shifter scheme, which are applicable to the phased array systems, are studied. Using these two schemes, a theoretical method to design an electronic beam steering RADANT lens is introduced. The validity of the presented theoretical method is verified through the simplified circuit simulation results.

  • Megacities are emerging all over the world and gradually becoming the center of an country. Therefore, Megacities are inevitably exposed to various threats such as existing, potential, supra-national, and non-military. In particular, as seen in the recent Ukraine-Russia war, national infrastructure systems has become a major target of enemies. However, considering the size of Megacities, various types of threats, and limited resources, it is impossible to completely protect all national infrastructure systems. Therefore, wisdom is necessary to identify and protect critical nodes. The critical node is the vital point to which the national infrastructure is connected. To this end, in this study, as a method for logically and systematically identifying critical nodes, Node centrality analysis method, which is a network theory, and the Center of Gravity analysis method, which is a military theory, were presented.

  • The transmission load of gear devices is important factor in the design of gear system. To design gear system precisely, an analysis and calculation methods for transmission load of gears are demanded. The purpose of this study is to develop a computer program for analyzing tooth load sharing of a spur gear system by means of the contact theory. In this paper, load transmission characteristics is identified with elastic contact problem which is assumed to quasi-static equilibrium. The modeling of spur gear tooth is accomplished by application of I-DEAS.

  • We investigated molecular polarity by using theoretical means and comparing empirical solvent polarity. Our approach employed electrostatic potentials at the molecular surface calculated by density functional methods. A number of molecular descriptors related to molecular polarities were computed from molecular surface electrostatic potentials. Among computed molecular descriptors, the most positive electrostatic potential provided the best correlation with the empirical solvent polarities. A regression equation was developed in order to predict molecular polarities of molecules whose experimental solvent polarities were unknown. The new regression equations were utilized in estimating solvent polarities of cubane derivatives which are considered important precusors of high-energy density meterials.

  • Clausewitz’s theory of war can be divided between the theory of conduct of war and the theory of preparations for war, and the theory of war that Clausewitz means, is the theory of conduct of war. But before Clausewitz, men regarded a theory of preparations for war as the theory of war. The theory of preparations for war concerns generally about the material side of war, but not its spiritual aspect. The activity of war is basically a human spiritual and psychological action. And because the war is dangerous, the anxiety occurs and diverse human feelings, for example courage, have been required. Also the informations in war is normally very uncertain, so an insight of the commander is in war very needed. The Theory of war has to consider this spiritual aspect. To end the war and to acquire the peace, an excellent talent of commander is necessary. And it is a genius. Men who are difficult to move but have strong feelings, these are the men who are best able to be a genius.

  • A modified theoretical analysis of the ballistic perforation on the double and multi-layered armour plates using an upper bound method has been presented in this paper. A modified model based on the suggestion of the Awerbuch-bodner model has been adapted and extended into double and multi-layered armour plates when the plugging type of penetration has been occurred. The residual projectile speed, ballistic limit velocity and contact time during the penetration process have been derived from the equation of motion at each stage.

  • The study presents milestones for the Korean military to win the future battlefield based on the 4th Industrial Revolution. Chapter 1 deals with the necessity of research on how advanced countries operate industrial technology in the defense sector based on the 4th Industrial Revolution. Chapter 2 examines the current technology status of the 4th Industrial Revolution in Korea and the concept of Korean combat. Chapter 3 analyzes the military robotic technology of advanced military countries through examples of unmanned combat robots in the United States, Israel, and Germany. In the end, in future battles, it will be possible to dominate the battlefield only by taking a leap into a super-connected and super-intelligent military based on a high-tech platform. Our military should also research and develop military robotics in accordance with the characteristics of each combat system, and further expand and develop the concept of combat performance to protect our core capabilities and centers from enemy cyber, electronic warfare, and space attacks.
